Here is my technique for banging models from other countries and it works every time. Bottom line is you need to learn photography to the point where you are close to professional and you need to buy top of the line equipment. Then you join a site like http://www.modelmayhem.com and build up a portfolio. You can do this by shooting local girls or going to group photoshoots with professional models. About a month before your about to travel you contact models through Model Mayhem and tell them your agent sent you to their country to do photo shoots on local women for some magazines that are being published in Los Angeles or New York and that you will be only able to publish the top 3. This works every time plus when you show up with legit equipment and so seem like you know what your doing then they take you very seriously. These women show me around town, take me out, and best of all I bone 95% of them. You have to invest some money in equipment and invest time in getting good at photography, but the rewards are worth it. If you have a buddy traveling with you, he call always play the assistent.

Dude, I think that it is creepy. Investing that much time, effort, and money on elaborating lying to women is disturbing.

Why not just drug them? Not much different ethically speaking, and you would save yourself plenty of time.

Good gimmick, but we're talking at least $2,500 initial investment and months of study, correct?

Dude, I think that it is creepy. Investing that much time, effort, and money on elaborating lying to women is disturbing.

Why not just drug them? Not much different ethically speaking, and you would save yourself plenty of time.

What do you mean creepy? What are you some type of priest? Why don't you just drug them? Thats pretty stupid comment. I actually give all my models copies and cd's for their portfolio and they absolutely love it.

I am actually a real photographer, but I was giving some insight for people who might want an angle. You can get a good professional DSLR camera for under 1K and everything you want to learn can be from books or internet or college classes. Yes it is a time investment, but for people who travel a lot it is definitely worth it. It also allows me to take great vacation photos as well. So under 1k investment and a couple of months study for a life time is pretty good.

Nice approach -- but why not just be semi-honest? "I'm a photographer hoping to publish my own travel & fashion book on models from [INSERT COUNTRY]. Can you help me out?"

The fact that your own book will likely never get published you can leave out the story...but at least it's a possibility so you're not completely lying.

And yeah, share some stores. What countries did this work in?

At first glance I understand how someone might think its creepy.

But when you examine it, I don't really think that it is.

As long as the models don't have some unreal expectation of 100% getting into the magazines and they get some free professional pictures. I mean, its not like they have to bang you. Its their choice.

Its definitely a good technique, I think.

Where do you do the photo shoots though, meaning the physical setting where you shoot?

Also, do you pay the girls?

That is a good point, and some times I do use that line. Sometimes I feel a little bad about playing the game, but the games got to be played, I will use that line next country I go to and let you know how it works. These girls end up getting great picks for their portfolio so they are always happy and to this day most of them are my friends on facebook or we keep in touch.

So far this has worked in Sydney, Melbourne Austrailia, Rio Brazil, Panama City Panama, and Costa Rica and New York as well as Los Angeles where I live.

This is a fun and great way to meet fine girls even before you get to a country. It might not be for everyone, but it works well for me.

Where do you do the photo shoots though?

Yeah I never say they are going to get in a magazine, I just tell them that they will get a copy of all the pictures to put in their working portfolio.

I will start the shoot at the beach, in the park and any other public place and then I will have the apartment that I rent and turn it into a studio. Once you build rapport and then you hit it off then you go from there.

The photography is just an opener, of course they are not going to just jump into bed with you, but it is away to knock down some barriers and then they are chasing you.

Yeah I shoot them clothed and probably 70% of them nude. You get an idea how far they will go by before you set up the shoot and then some just feel comfortable getting nude once they see that you know what you are doing. I always have them show some skin though and get sexy with the camera. This is a great way to meet and hook up with girls but the study of Photography has to be taken seriously.

There is some money to be made doing model photography but most of the big money is made by a few. Photography is great for bartering. I always do photo shoots for trade. When you get to the point where your work looks Magazine quality then everyone wants to trade something. This is just a serious hobby of mine so I really enjoy it.

model mayhem? lots of the girls on there are pros, lots not, great site tho. I have found internationally most of the models are just more expensive hookers. sad but true. But I do like this angle, especially being from NY you have some cred in other countries.

What´s your MO or process? Do you set up an initial Q&A meet or just have her meet you for coffee or a drink? Also, how do you get these women to show you around town or take you out? Do they just come out and offer when you mention you´re only choosing the top 3 to get the competitive juices flowing?

I'm kinda into photography myself, so I think I'm going to give this a shot. This sounds really fun even if you don't bang anyone.

From the Canon side, I would approach it like this:
Canon 7D + 35mm/50mm/85mm primes + Alien Bees + Beauty Dish + Tripods

Pretty big investment if someone's not already into this stuff, but otherwise well worth it.

If anyone is interested, you can find "Sessions with Joey L" on rapidshare - this is a very famous professional photographer (Forbes, etc) that explains how to do everything. It's fascinating stuff, even for experienced photographers.

damn I love google translator.... I just went on the local Latvian paper, there are 5 models with pics who posted looking for opportunites.... and about 45 prof photographers... so I sent all the girls messages and a few pro photographers asking about setting up a modeling shoot.... ill let you guys know how it goes.
