In Portugal this car is called Kauai. Why you ask? Because the original name sounds like "Cona" which is our informal, and extremely dirty, word for 'Vagina'.

So, like many things, can be alpha or beta, depending on the man.

I have a 2017 Tacoma SR5 and I love it. I test drove a TRD Pro and I was a big fan as well. Awesome handling truck and can handle anything you throw at it, TRD offroad features are a cool plus too.

I've been fortunate to consistently drive very nice cars in my life and believe it had very little to no impact on the women side of my life.

I think an old American/Australian muscle car would give the most street cred.

Mine is very similar to this.

I would have taken one of those over my suburban for sure. But they are rare, and in good shape, even rarer.

How would a new vortec conversion be in one of them? I hear vans are the worst vehicles in the world to do major repairs on.

Yeah Tacomas are a solid truck and have great resale value, despite some recalls. They can do most of what a Jeep can, aside from crazy extreme rock crawling, plus have a bed. They are also hard to find used of recent vintage for a price much less than new...so it may be worth just buying new.

Compared to a (used) Jeep, I’d be spending more on it.

Do body on frame vehicles count as trucks? I know the Range Rover, G Wagon and Escalade get some hype from girls. My 4runner did well too.

I think all of those would be counted as SUVs, albeit old-school truck-based SUVs.

I think the car only matters if you live in a 3rd world country, where an expensive car is considered a luxury, and elevates your status. Saying that, I drive an Audi A7 2015, and I've got good reactions from girls.
