There's not much about Paris on here, so I'd like to contribute a few thoughts about it. To put things in context, I was born in France but spent most of my life abroad, and when I go to Paris I am somewhat of an outsider (even though I do have a small social circle there).

1) The easiest are the foreign girls
Paris has a reputation for being a "romantic" city, I can't understand why, but it's a fact that pretty girls from across the world come to Paris to live the Paris dream.
The reality impact when they arrive is so hard that in Japan they call it the "Paris syndrome", when idealistic japanese girls have their dreams crushed by the city, and go into depression.

When you come from CDG airport through Gare du Nord with the RER B, most illusions will go away fast, it's one of the shittiest places in the first world.

In short : it's dirty, overpriced, people are cold (big city stuff). Weather in Autumn is depressing.

The positive : all these foreign girls are there in solitude, and if you speak a little bit of english and talk to them in a positive way, that puts you above most french guys.

It has happened to me that I was in a club (Rex), opened 10 sets, and all of them were foreigners. Not sure there even was one French in the whole club.

2) The french lover myth is a myth : useful for me when I'm abroad, but really it's BS. Like all the marketing around France to sell fermented grape juice, and handbags.

3) Clothing is super important in this city, even for the guys.
When I'm in Paris, I always feel like I have to spend money on expensive clothes. It's not optional, it's more important than having muscles.
French girls dress well, and they expect guys to do the same.
The only culture which comes close to this is Italy. I'd say Northern Italians are closest to the French in terms of mentality. Appearance is very important, and more important is to be classy ("classe") rather than be sexy.

4) There are no real parisians. I already pointed out that there is a huge percentage of the populatioin that is foreign. But even amongst French people living in Paris, most of them are from other cities and come to study, or to work.

It's possible to have a good time in Paris, even though I believe it is a tough city. However 2nd tier cities in France are much more welcoming.

Yes, you got it, my friend: There are no real Parisinians, just a bunch of snobs who pretend to be Parisinians and people with class.
Anyway, it's always nice to meet white, thin, educated women, no matter if they have snobby attitudes. Actually, part of the Parisinian and French game is to show a girl that you are more snob than her; that you taste better wines; that you have seen the most complicated movies from French directors, that you know more about some author, etc.
By the way, the two guys in the videos do have game. I bet they spend a lot of time picking up girls in open air coffee shops in Paris.

It definitely works to show some culture. For some reason, art is very respected in France, and artists are desirable. It probably helps that the state provides a lot of funding for art, so artists are not bums. In other countries, artists would be looked down because they are usually bad providers.

But in my experience, direct game can also work really well. You get the respect of the girl, and bonus points for acting straightforward and confident.

There are plenty of museums and art expos for daygame. I have done daygame in suburban trains around Paris, as you usually have enough time to build comfort and number close. Problem with daygame in the metro is that she might get off the next stop.
I would start conversation while waiting for the train/metro to arrive : Girl is static, often already isolated. There are signs that tell how much time you have before the train/metro arrives, add 5-10 minutes and this gives you a hint of how much time you have to number close.

I have friends who do street game around Saint Michel square. The whole Paris is a big shopping area. There's a big mall around Châtelet les Halles but I don't really recommend it. It's the place where rival bands of immigrants from suburbs meet up to fight, because it's a hub where all the RERs go through. Also, Paris is not about malls. That's actually a cool thing about it that you have some small shops in the streets, not just huge malls with Zara, Starbucks, Mc Donalds like everywhere else.
Just walk around the city and you will meet as much people as in a mall. That's the good thing about not needing a car. I encourage you to get lost in the city, and discover it for yourself.

Almost forgot, and should have put this in the first post : MacDonald's is hugely successful in France. So much for French cuisine. Reason for the success : try finding a place in Paris where you can have a hot meal for 7 euros, and sit down, and with access to a clean toilet.
I'm always amazed when I go to McDonald's (the one near Montparnasse); it's full of hot girls, it's ridiculous. And it's a non threatening environment. You can see girls eating alone, so just sit next to them and engage them.

i had friends who got lost in the city and got mugged at knifepoint by algerians, we are going to possibly come down for an easter weekend trip and wont have much time, so what in your opinion is the best street/streets to daygame high quality girls? for example if you came here to London i could tell you exactly where to go.

I'm I the only one that thinks French women are way overrated looks-wise? I hear a lot of good about French Canadians, but the girls I come across from France are rarely anything to write home about.

I never got mugged in Paris, and I was living in one of the shittiest areas (near Goutte d'Or). The street where I lived had 5 Kebab restaurants. I was the only white guy in the metro wagon when going home in the evening. When going out of the station, it felt like Bamako in Africa, with street sellers selling chinese junk on the sidewalk and Africans and Arabs in traditional clothes.

But I know many people who got their phones stolen, sometimes in an agressive way. There's a lot of inequality in Paris, it's a closed society of insiders vs. outsiders. The outsiders are angry and frustrated. The insiders are being asked for money at least 10 times a day by homeless people or Romanians, so they need to develop a sort of "bitch shield" (the reason why tourists say Parisians are cold). Where were your friends mugged?

Around Odéon, you have a lot of bars. Quality girls in the street and in the bars. Around Montparnasse during the day. If you don't mind tourists, you can try the tourist spots. If it's just for a weekend you're probably better off going for tourists anyway. Notre Dame, Montmartre, Champs Elysées... Plenty of tourist girls there.

Musée d'Orsay is a goldmine. Quite possibly the 10 hottest girls I have ever seen in my life were in or outside Musée d'Orsay.

You are right that I have a sweet-and-sour feeling towards my birthplace. However I have lived in other cities which were generally easier, and I think everything I say is grounded in reality. In general, on this forum you will find people that are not fully satisfied with their home, orelse would they have such a strong urge to travel? See what DC natives are saying about DC for example... I'll say that the few American girls that I've met where nice and rather good looking. The grass is always greener, etc.

Nights : Thursday, Friday, Saturday. When I tried to go out on other days, it was empty /closed. On Sunday everything is closed like in a small provincial town. Thursday is student parties.

Afterworks have become trendy in the past few years. This is where people go straight from the office, usually on thursday.

Best spot to get an appartment : ideally, near a metro station, inside the Périphérique, not far from your preferred nightlife cluster.

Paris is a huge city with over 10 million people so you have several nightlife clusters, each of which cater to a specific demographic. I think it's better to think in these terms than in terms of specific location (which will be more or less good depending on the night). So you have in the following areas a few streets with high concentration of bars and clubs:

- Rue Mouffetard area : students.
- Rue Oberkampf area : hipsters. Ex : Alimentation Générale (gotten less good recently)
- Arc de Triomphe / Champs Elysées : upper class, posh clubs, bankers. Ex : Duplex (ok on saturday), Queen
- Odéon : bars for educated people. Ex: Eden Park.
- Pigalle : alternative, immigrants.
- Bastille : students, hipsters.
- Montparnasse : middle-class, students. BackUp is ok on student nights.
- Marais : gay.
- La butte aux cailles (metro corvisart): lots of restaurants and small bars with students.

Sorry for not putting more names but yes Paris is huge and part of the problem is finding the right spot. I've been here for years and I don't pretend to know all the good spots. For each of the areas I mentioned you could write ten pages.

Like the cut of your jib Fresh. Whenever a guy hypes a place I am instantly skeptical. No place on earth is perfect so I appreciate your candid expression. I like Paris, but as a Londoner I appreciate it's pitfalls. Would like to go back but I have never spoken to anyone who can give me an honest account of what it is like to spend an extended amount of time there.

Paris would be a gold mine if you're wealthy and lived for example, in a pimped out pad on Île Saint Louis, spoke fluent French, and had a look & attitude that appealed to French sensibilities.

Otherwise it'd be a major grind.

Nah, I speak French and I really don't enjoy Paris (even though I picked up my French flag there)

Its worth going to see the sights but you can do that in about 4 days. As long as you do that and interact with Parisians at little as possible you can have a good time.

I have a friend from the UK who is doing fine in Paris, has a nice flat and is dating a hot French girl. He's not even a player or PUA. However he made a commitment to Paris, he has lived here for 3 years and made the effort to become fluent in French.

You can have a good time in Paris, however you will need to invest some time to get to know the city. Also, as I mentioned before there are plenty of transplants and FOBs and a constant turnover so you have opportunities even without a big social circle. As for status, if you have a 20 square meter flat within the Peripherique, it's good enough. Good enough is good enough.

if you are a man who knows about art, paris is an awesome city to meet girls. the pompidou center was perfect. unlike the moma in new york, it has a huge plaza out front, and also a pretty big area inside, where you can scope out chicks without having to pay. both areas are excellent because you can just chill out, and when you see a girl you like, you can just go up to her and say, "hey, what did you think of the X exhibition?"

Sorry for the sidetrack. But I want to ask something.

How does being an artist in France work? MisterFresh touched on this in his post. How does the government sponsor art? Do you have to be a member of the Academy - and then you get paid a wage? Or does the government just buy whatever you make for a flat fee per item?

I was reading about it in a book but it didn't go into any specifics. And I have tried using google to find this information - with no success.

Here in the UK - the free market reigns. If you can't sell your art at auction. You are fucked. Unless you have rich parents. Having said that - I guess alot of artists double up as writers and teachers. So that must help.

From what I read - this means the contemporary art scene is more vibrant in the UK than it is in France. It is more dynamic since there is no safety net provided by the government.

Anyway - I would be interested to know more since it it is curious that France and the UK fund art in such different ways.

I think London is similar in many ways. Many Western capitals have the potential to be the same in my opinion, of the ones I've been to, I was by far most impressed with Madrid. With the flow of honeys (that I like the look of), the weather, and ease of speaking to people, because they have a big bar culture.

Yeah, my viewpoint may be different from others on here in that I want to max out the amount of high-quality pussy AND lifestyle for the absolute least amount of effort.

This crosses out a lot of the major cities for me.

They are not overrated. Think Marion Cotillard or Audrey Tautou. Cute thin brunette. They are in general as pretty as Eastern European girls, except they also have way more class.

In real they are very diverse, you can find also blondes and blacks and middle eastern. I'd say though what most French girls have in common is that they take great care of themselves.
They display a mild form of feminism that in my opinion brings the best of both worlds. They are educated, SNL ready, and will insist on paying their share when dating (for restaurant or drinks). At the same time, they're well aware that their advanced degree won't get them laid, and pay attention to what they eat, exercise, do wear make up but in a more sophisticated way than in eastern europe, and dress feminine.

They often have a high "bitch shield", but once you get past that it's easier. For example, it's harder to open, and it's harder to number close, but if you number close you are more likely to get a date. And if you get a date, you are more likely to get lucky. In fact in France there are no real dates, we call it "rendez-vous" and sex is the expected conclusion.
