At least the weather is decent there, I plan on moving to Perth in May and will likely work in the mines up Karratha. Working in shit hole towns with no women is nothing new to me.

Yeah they're mostly indifferent to Americans and your accent. For some reason they all love the British and sometimes Irish accents though. Most of the guys I used to work with were travellers from England or Ireland and everywhere we went girls would get wide eyed about their accents even though guys from there are a dime a dozen here.

Hey guys, I'm a longtime reader, seldom poster. However, I did spend about two weeks in Australia (31 OCT - 15 NOV 2011). It's definitely not enough to get a feel for such a huge country. I think the American accent might give you a slight, slight, niche appeal but you can't put all of your eggs in that basket. Overall, it's a Western place and doesn't feel that different than the USA (other than almost getting run over because you watch the wrong side of the road and paying 15$ for a sub and two drinks at Subway).

I did Sydney for about 8 days along with Byron Bay and Surfer's Paradise.

What did I not get? Australian notches.
What did I get? European notches (Ireland and Germany. I can thank Roosh for the Irish because I used the "I really need to use the bathroom" technique").

For the short-term tourist I would at least recommend a place called The Sugar Mill in the King's Cross Area; Monday is their big night and they have a rooftop patio (when I was there Ronan Keating showed up). Australia has one of the best hostel scenes in the world and attracts people from all over. Use this to your advantage.

Getting older is not a problem in these places, there are many places to meet women, only problem is you could not be a 50/60 year old pulling hot young things like in Thailand or EE, you would have to up your age range accordingly, depending how well you look for your age/status etc. There are many 30 plus attractive women, of course these dont compare to the young ones though.

Speaking for Sydney.. Womens looks aren't the problem here. You'll find more than enough attractive women to approach in any busy suburb in a decent area. Just way too big and expensive for my taste.

You can bag a good girl in Australia, but I can't think of anywhere where it's harder work.

I worked in Darwin for 3 months, and the ratios were horrible, with even mere 6s elevated to the status of demi-gods.
Plus their economy, currency and wages are now so strong that any foreign guy is gonna look like a bum next to some Aussie dude who gets paid six figures to clean toilets in some godforsaken mine.

If you're prepared to stick it out though and you want a quality civilian flag, try Adelaide. All of the young men have fled to WA and the NT, leaving a significant over-supply of young women.

Also, if you're young enough to partake in the backpacking culture, you can easily land a European flag on any given night at a hostel. It's one of the few times in life where you'll be surrounded by Scandinavian, German and French girls who think it's totally OK to get blackout drunk every weeknight.
The cheap, strong and powerful 'Goon' wine is responsible for about 75% of my success there. I don't know whether to be proud of that or not....

Recommended backpacker areas: Byron Bay, any mid-size beach town in North Queensland, Melbourne.
Avoid: Surfer's Paradise, Cairns (The girls here are as wretched as those found in major American cities)

Why are you against Surfer's Paradise and Cairns? Aren't they two of the biggest backpacking destinations? Wouldn't the hostels there be great for picking up Europeans? Are you against the local women there, or the backpackers?

Surfers and Cairns are in effect the Zante and Magaluf of Australia. The culture tends to be trashy and the ratios are far from favourable.

The backpacker girl who spends a month in Byron or more rural parts tends to be very different from the one who will tend to spend a month in the aforementioned places.
The former being far more approachable and the latter having a colossal bitch-shield.

1. Nah, just Outback women. The situation in Darwin is a microcosm of the wider NT and WA area. Perth is slightly better, but not much.

2. Yes, if you took 2 foreign guys of equal game, attraction levels and put one in Sydney and one in Adelaide, I guarantee you the guy in Adelaide would score better. It's not a fun place other than that.

Paradoxically, women in the US wouldn't complain as much of how hard it is to "find a good man" - if the ratios were more even. They'd eventually have to step up the plate and realize they can't be playing games forever, the plethora of men currently makes it very easy.

I've known women get 100+ messages on POF/match a day and still say it's too hard. Too many options have made it too hard. Even a fat woman has more date options any given night than the average man (who isn't fat).

Part of the problem in the US - the average woman thinks she is to good for the average man.

Also, any woman who isn't a fat ass is better than average, in the US.

Considering the reputation Syndey girls have, it makes me wonder if online dating is what the majority of the populace is doing. If none of the girls are talking to guys at clubs, and so few of them have settled down with a college sweetheart that theyre still roaming the clubs, WTF is the deal? It can be extremely frustrating, the standards they have.

Melbourne, I heard, was a different story tho. I had a friend study abroad there (which is like in the middle of the city <3) and he said it was pretty easy to get laid because of his accent. But he was also a super cool guy naturally

You really can't overlook the Gold Coast, the place is a mini Miami and is about to undergo a huge revamp when a new 14 km light rail system is completed next year which will connect Surfers Paradise with Broadbeach and Southport. Maybe it had it heyday for hot women in the late 80s and early 90s, it is a place which is a series of beaches with an abundance of hotties, a destination which is getting more international flights flying directly into the Gold Coast itself instead of Brisbane. I think it should be on top of the list, if it isn't already it will be.
