Jennifer Lawrence is gonna win best supporting actress imo.

RE: The Oscars Thread
Quentin Tarantino gets the W for Best Original Screenplay for "Django Unchained." I'm a huge Q fan, so I always root for him. I know this film (which I haven't seen yet...I'm lazy about going to the theater, so I've usually not seen any of the nominated films when the Oscars roll around...HA HA!) generated a lot of buzz, anger, criticism, discussion, etc. but that's what films should do. Love him or not, he's fearless, and that's what I admire most about his work.

She's up for Best ACTRESS, not supporting. Anne Hathaway already won Best Supporting...

Good for Quentin, Django is the only "major" movie I thought was deserving of its reputation this year

With regards to Tarantino, the only thing of importance is his soundtrack albums.

One of Q's great gifts is his use of music in his films. I was watching an interview he did, and he largely chooses all of it himself. He has a great feel. The jukebox in "Death Proof" is actually HIS, along with all the music in it.

The Jackie Brown Soundtrack is amazing beyond belief. Might very well be the greatest soundtrack ever. Easy Top 10 best choice.

Good to throw on for swooping too.

Ironically, a girl turned me on to the soundtrack when I swooped her one night. Thanks to her, I have swooped mass girls to it since. I actually haven't used it in a while, I am going to start throwing this thing on again when I get girls back to the G-Spot.

(whole soundtrack. Youtube is dope).

Pimps trying to catch a woman that's weak
Across 110th Street,
Pushers won't let the junkie go free.
Across 110th Street,
Woman trying to catch a trick on the street.
Across 110th Street,
You can find it all in the street.

RE: The Oscars Thread
Daniel Day Lewis is RIDICULOUS. He doesn't work that often, and when he does, he gets nominated and wins. If I'm a major actor, before I do a film that I think will get me nominated, I'm asking if he's working on a film too so I don't get excited about winning...HA HA!

Think about how someone like Annette Bening feels. She got nominated twice, and both times lost to Hilary Swank!

I laughed when Adele showed up. She was freaking giant next to that tiny blonde reporter.

The girl I was chilling thought haile berry looked terrible. I second her opinion.

Robert De Niro w/his fat black wife was an sigh moment as well. I almost felt sorry for him but hes De Niro- thats more than 99.9% of men will ever reach.

Not much else sticks in my mind. I just remember all the contrasts.

WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

RE: The Oscars Thread
Big ups to Ben Affeck. Right off the bat he wins a Screenplay Oscar. He got a lot of flack for his acting career (though I think when he started doing supporting actor work, he's been solid), and now as a producer he's won. I know he'll win at some point for directing. The dude has made himself a FORCE. Clooney also - he's won as an actor, now as a producer. I think he's got the chops to do it as a director also. It's been a long time since he's been on the stage, but I'm glad he made it back.
