This years oscars was just one big wank fest. Actually, when isn't the oscars one big wank fest? I'm watching the opening monologue and I'm wondering who do they mean by 'white people'? Do they mean Slavics? Germanics? Caucasians? Latins? Cetics? Scandinavians? And what do they mean by black people? Are they all one giant race now? Do we say the attack on Pearl Harbour was performed by Asians? Am I the only one who was underwhelmed about the Revenant? The story and setting was great but the shifty camera, the color scheme and the odd character development wasn't my thing. Reminded me of There Will Be Blood, which suffered from the same issue of trying to be this European social realism but ends up looking forced and contrived.

Lowest TV ratings in 8 years.

You can blame some of this on the popularity of streaming, and some of it on movie ticket sales being down in general, but I don't think it's a reach to conclude that many people just could not stomach the obvious, pathetic, mewling race-baiting and sanctimonious virtue-signalling and turned their attentions elsewhere while the millionaire elites who get paid to make faces at cameras pretended to be Agents of Social Change.

I've said this of movies, video games, and comic books but it's time to open it up as a general rule: cozying up to SJWs gets you nowhere.

Speaking of Leo, I just watched The Aviator again. They should have given him the Oscar for that. I think he was nominated but lost to Jamie Foxx for "Ray"

Anyway not all celebrities can be as candid as Bill Burr or some other entertainer whos career is based on being controversial. Most actors have to tow the party line when on the record otherwise they will get hung out to dry within hours all over the internet. I'd like to think that guys like leo are different when you hang out with them personally sipping drinks and shooting the shit.

That said you gotta keep in mind a lot of actors are fucking weirdo super-lefists anyway. Tends to come with the territory.
