According to this site, Heidelberg has the highest ratio of females to males in the 20-24 years age bracket in Germany.

Yeah, I looked at the same map. It also listed my small town as having a high female ratio as well...but you'd never know it by going out to the bars.

I don't think much of ratios. Size of the city and number of young people is much more important than sex ratios...unless there is some crazy imbalance. You won't notice a 110/100 ratio, for example.

With regard to Heidelberg though, a ratio 149 women per 100 men is pretty crazy and I find it hard to believe.

Heidelberg sounds like a worthy weekend trip. Does anyone know the cause for this imbalance? Is it because of students? Will they still be there during the summer?

I know an American base just closed down over there...did they leave a bunch of women behind? lol

I recommend going to town and small city weinfeste and bierfeste. Some great times can be had in the hundreds of fests around Germany.

Fasching/Karneval is another fun time.

The wine fest season is underway now.

If you are in Bavaria, and want to hit up the Beer Tents in the summer, AND want to game some Bavarian girls in dirndl's, you might also consider investing in a pair of authentic lederhosen...not the cheap tourist shit either. They seem to love foreign guys who can get it right...

I visited some German cities in the periphery of DDR like Zwickau.Almost dead very few people.More opportunities in Dresden Leipzig.An advantage of Germany ifs the high number of immigrants from interesting countries I am in an environment with female Hungarian,Slovak and Romanian presences and it's quite hot to say the least.
All Balkans have the same sense of humor and comfort and I feel at home.
Germans don't get the Balkan humor you have to explain.
Also some Germans told me how their relatives enjoyed Crete as SS occupation force which can be shocking.Generally they tolerate us Auslanders.

A difference I noticed is that we Bakans want always to laugh and entertain ourselves while Germans keep serious faces.They looked at us with cold expressions while we laughed. Germans want that you always feel the social problem and talk about serious things.Sorry man I like light conversation say bullshit and laugh with girls. What is your problem with that? Why do I have to be serious all the time?
Another is that they want you to acknowledge and respect the presence of the elderly. At one point I did not get out recognize the presence of an elderly woman who say opposite to me in the train and her reaction was tremendous. She brought her bag next to my knee and started pressing my knee with her bag till I was screaming with pain.I started cursing in Greek(this is a pleasure I have in Germany) but die alte Frau had definitely taken her revenge. They also report you here for everything someone is always watching you.

The above is very important. See, what happens is that in order to be successful in Germany, is you have to rely on social circle integration.

And it is very easy, over time, to adjust to German life and essentially , get castrated. This is a huge problem.

And German women, are really top notch, excellent , good women/wife material. But....sex drive is non existent. Generally in Germany sympathy plays a great role.If people do not sympathize with you they will make your life miserable what is written in laws does not apply automatically in work relationships etc.The Germans resist stubbornly.I guess the problem stems from not really having had a Roman occupation.They do not have a clear definition of the relation between owner and slave.

Another problem in Germany is the non existent customer service and the low quality goods they are trying to get you to buy.You cannot find in any case the abudance you get in Athens where all trade marks are present except in Berlin and some very big cities.Germany is generally not pleasant at all like a place of industry while Greece is a holidays country.They also create artificial shortages in Germany to boost prices it is a fucked up model Scandinavians also use.(for example restaurants having to close at 15.00 when most people want to eat,shops closing at 18.00 when most people have time after work etc).
In Germanic concept of economy,allowance of free competition causes poverty.Forbid of competition and laws for everything are guarantess for social stability and prosperity.
I do not understand how we Greeks got tied in this very non beneficial scheme totally out of our mentality.

where do you find low quality goods? Germans pride themselves in making high quality goods from top to bottom. It starts all the way from the children who are put in thorough technical schools if they aren't cut out for university

I'll say it's true that customer service isn't good, but that's almost an old culture thing. even the new business generation has good service.
The stubbornness comes from the fact that when they do it right, why change it unless it greatly increased productivity.

while many countries create some form of artificial shortage, German laws lean more to the social progression of the people. even to the point that men can take paternity leave and be paid to take care of their children stores close early because it allows more time to be with your family.
if you are productive enough to finish early, why stay open. Germans are good at using time wisely.
if I remember correct, Germany actual has more leave days than Greece...and it's clearly far more productive
