TO men of the last 20 years are of a different breed. They have taken most of the brunt of the feminist black lash -- and hence are maybe paying for the consequences of TO guys from the 70s.

I am curious of what others think about this.

I would also add the Paul Bernardo serial rapist changed a lot of things in the city. I know girls who were terrified to take public transit and were overly paranoid during this time.
The Marc Lepine incident happened in Montreal, does not seem to have affected the city at all.

Very true. There was this long period where TO women were terrified of TO men -- I think it goes way back to maybe even the 70s and prior. Before Bernardo. I remember once I was walking through this narrow path next to the allen expressway --in the early 80s. I was in a hurry so I began to run. There was this girl way ahead of me by 400 metres or so on the same pathway. She looked behind and saw me running -- next thing I see is she also started running pretty fast. There are few more personal incidences I could say. I am not at all letting TO women off the hook --bc I have always found them to be incredibly flakley and over protected back then. But now we have TO women who seem to have a real hatred for TO men.

I do think though there was this period where TO men really did terroize TO women though.

Thank you for sharing your insight on what TO was in the 70's and 80's. That's extremely interesting! so TO went from one extremen, with the overly manly and macho guys to the other extreme, with the guys being barely guys and nothing more than effeminate betas, "male" feminists, metrosexuals if not outright faggots. Btw, I think Paul Bernardo is a good example of the point I was making. His mentality and characteristics somewhat decscribe how TO men were like in the 70s and maybe 80s from what I remember. Bernardo was a extreme example. I actually attended one of the Bernardo trials -- as the public was allowed to sit in. I was sitting just behind Bernardo and Homolka was on stand being questioned. Then this one girl sitting near me -- as Bernardo entered the court room - started to go into a panic and terror type of break down as she first saw Bernardo. She had to be escourted out of the court room.

There is another incidence which comes to mind. I remember being about nine years old - and got my first new bike. I took it to the park and was near a bridge -- this is in the 70s. (Riverdale Park for those who know). Then this TO guy walking with a girl - saw me - and he started to chase me. I quickly jumped off the bike -- and ran as fast as I could. The guy could not catch me -- but he got my bike -- and started to ride it. The girl was telling the guy to give the bike back to me-- I could see she was also afraid of the guy. I ran away back home -- and my mom called the police. But all they did was take a report.

So this is from my expereince what TO guys were like -- not all of course -- but the point is I do remember TO girls being terrifed of TO guys for that period. I could be wrong of course in my opinion -- so I wonder what others think who may have been here at the same period.

There was also another major incident that happened in the 80's, two gay guys grabbed a kid and raped/chopped him up. The politicans then went crazy and cleaned up the city, before that it was pretty liberal I understand.

Actually I wonder if you mean the shoeshine boy - Immanual Jacques who was nine years old I believe. Two gays guy strangled him. It was very big news then - I think that was in the late 70s though. So yes that was also a major incident -- where TO women were very fearful and mistrustful of TO men.

I don't want to make it a race issue -- but it was mostly white anglo men -- that seemed to be where the problems were coming from. There was a lot of racism -- and I think they were upset that a lot of ethnic minorities were pretty well taking over TO. And that in fact did happen as now TO is mostly made of ethnic people and real Torontians (those born in TO with a family history here) are now perhaps less than 5% of the population. In the 70s and prior they were in the majority.

So TO women imo were terroized by the Paul Bernardo type that were abundant in TO in 70s and prior. Now of course it has gone to the other extreme where TO women are terroring TO men -- and those born in the last 20 - 25 years TO men seem to be taking most of the crap.

Houston - the first thing to understand about Toronto is that it is a town, it has a small town mentality despite being a "big" city. Also keep in mind Toronto never had the murder rates back in the day like American cities, so when these big stories broke the media had a field day for months. Of course the simple folk here absorbed the fear and became scared to socialize.

Yes, I know it sounds like a dumb excuse. I remember back in the day going to underground clubs listening to House music and how free and easy it was, compared now to the sour environments clubs have today.

PBW does bring up some good points, not sure if I agree with all of them but I don't necessarily disagree either. Toronto use to be a very liberal city with a seedy underground, now it is just a corporate city.

I couldn't even double deal with lizards too tuff because too often I went out on a date with one lizard only to see another lizard I'm dealing wid out with her friends in the same spot.
Even my friend who visited me from New York for Caribana made a very accurate observation on Toronto in the space of two days.
He told me how would I be able to handle multiple lizards there when everyone goes to the same places? I had no good response for that.

Toronto looks good on paper and from an initial standpoint but when I went there, I quickly realised what it was like.
Toronto is a village. As Vacancier said, only those who have lived outside of Toronto would know. A lot of my friends there either came from hard off countries so Toronto is like Nirvana for them.
I thought it would be akin to London as I saw very similar ethnic mixes there.


Again, Toronto has some bad ass looking lizards. But the feminism movement has turned them into idiots. I even know lizards that have moved there from the islands who were real cool at the beginning and are now progressively turning into confused loons.
