Sorry but this is none sense. While there are fuglies like anywhere inyhe world, there are some very cute to very pretty ones and some stunners depending on where you hunt. Here's a hint, the higher in the social scale he place the higher the talent. Try for example high end resorts, restaurants, shops, malls but also flight attendants, promo girls etc...you'll see only beautiful bored girls workinjerenwho are very open to be approached by a well dressed foreigner.

I don't agree but I see where you're coming from, I've spent quite a bit of time in Filpino malls which are usually packed with people all day who aren't actually shopping, just escaping the heat and being unemployed, often living off remittances. Overall, your average Filipina isn't very attractive, I'd say that if I went to a mall, maybe 5% of the girls in the 18-30 range were what I would consider to be hot and probably 15-20% fuckable, but many of them just don't pass the boner test, obviously YMMV.

The more attractive women don't spend all day hanging out at the mall eating shitty food and window shopping, I don't know what they do, they probably have jobs or something but they definitely come out at night. If you go to the higher end clubs in Manila (Prive, Republiq, etc) you will see plenty of attractive women and probably a couple of stunners.

The saving grace of the Philippines is that its an over crowded country so even if only 15% of the women are bangable, you're bound to run into a few during the day and more at night. Add to that the fact that the country has some beautiful places and Filipinos are generally some of the nicest, laid back people in the world, they speak English very well and are very keen to date foreigners, it truly is one of the world's biggest poosy paradises. I will definitely return in the future.

Thanks a lot for providing your perspective. I had read through several of your postings of your experiences in various parts of the Phils, and you tend to provide very practical insight. I have NOT yet personally been able to verify some of the various perspectives that I have read on the forum b/c I have NOT yet been to Phils, but I am projecting to travel there in February 2014.

Did you find that some malls were better than others regarding demographics of the girls therein.. like some malls had a higher percentage of decent girls?

Ultimately, you are suggesting, that relying purely on day gaming in the mall is going to bring a guy, on the whole, sub-par results.

I have been thinking similar things that there will be some advantages to having an inexpensive location that may serve as jump off point to be able travel to other nearby asian locations that maybe more expensive - such as Japan. B/c it would be more expensive to live in Japan on a longer-term basis even though Japan is clean and more organized.

Yet, each of the SEA locations have its variations based on language and culture, which also affects the extent to which skin color would be worshiped or whether personal safety may be at issue.

There is one aspect of thinking about this traveling and living there in the hypothetical versus actually going there to live for a longer period of time, which may be another story and whether or not a guy is going to be able to tolerate the level of poverty and sometimes the stress of always being concerned that people are trying to scam him out of extra Pesos here and there. At this point, I am in my research and planning stages, so my personal experiences are NOT based on actual travels to these locations.


I get a little worried about getting good bang for the buck, and I would not want to spend several thousand dollars extra to travel to one location, when I could have avoided aspects that do NOT fit my style and preferences. Extreme poverty and faults in infrastructure and organization could probably be grating to experience on a longer term basis. Some guys have stated that living side-by-side in those poverty situations gets to be fairly stressful, even after a month or so - in spite of the fact that the girls like or quasi-worship the white guys.

I was thinking that a solution to that feeling of depression that may come from being around so much poverty in the Phils would be to budget enough money to be able to travel to other locations in and about asia about every couple of months to go on a side trip.

So one thing is hearing about the poverty and desperation, and another thing would be going though it right in front of your face on a daily basis, and I suppose some guys can become jaded if they have certain bad experiences and cannot really adapt to the lack of certain western luxuries.

Another problem, if a guy stays in one location for too long, then there may be a tendency for several girls to become attached to the guy and make unnecessary drama for the guy. That is part of the difficulties dealing with people , they can sometimes do things that are difficult to control and/or predict and that can negatively affect a guy. In that regard, a guy may even cause some girls to become attached, and then drama - and I would NOT want to lose any parts b/c of that kind of drama in that I may have caused it. Accordingly, my travel plans have been figuring out ways to minimize drama by staying somewhat mobile.

I'm sure several of the guys on this forum have more personal experience of some of these kinds of things as compared with my just making certain plans for such.

This thread became the "old players lounge" or something like it. Maybe somebody should open such a thread. I am officially 40 now so I am in the club.

Problem with relocating is really to know some trusted people which is very difficult. Ok, maybe some respected members team up say in Pattaya and live (neighborhood)and work together. For example organising some come together. Jay could be the Salsa teacher, I could teach modern solo dance, Ike could do something else like doing the invitation emails and papers. Meanwhile other cool members will get old and maybe join us. Giovanny is 38, maybe he will be interested.

The banned ex member xsplat is working on some project with expats in Indonesia (for more read on his blog). Maybe that could be an inspiration for doing something together or at least collect ideas.

I think that frequently the various themes on the threads overlap. Certainly, i had attempted to make my comment pertinent to my considerations of traveling to SEA and specifically how the Phils would play into those kinds of consideration. My question is short-term room and apartment rentals. For a country as poor as the Philippines, they are expensive relative to Bangkok, where you can get a pretty good room for $500 a month.

If you go on any of the popular classifieds sites (Sulit, olx, craigslist, etc) and search for "short term" or "transient" you'll get dozens of results in that price range. The problem is a lot of these rooms are downright awful logistics-wise. Ugly furniture, outdated appliances, no hot showers, etc. The short-term rentals I've encountered from non online means are no different.

Unfortunately this is one of the outcomes of the Philippines only recently deciding that they want to engage in tourism, whereas Thailand has been developing its tourism sectors since the 1980s.

It depends what city/region you're planning to visit, but if you're asking about Manila, the best months to visit are definitely November through February. It is very hot from March-May, and June-October is the rainy season.

I own three condos. I live in one and rent out the other two through vacation rental sites like Airbnb and Craigslist. I'm able to live off of this rental income and mutual fund returns.

Yes, I travel frequently within the Philippines and to other countries in Asia. In fact, I just got back from a trip to Malaysia/Thailand (Kuala Lumpur, Ao Nang, Ko Phi Phi, Phuket Town, Chalong, and Patong).

I don't agree that living in the Philippines is boring. Between managing my rentals, meeting girls, malling, working out, buying groceries, cooking my own meals, and paying bills, I'm definitely not cruising as much I would like. Some day, when I have things running more smoothly, I'd like to spend more time traveling, learning languages, taking fishing trips, etc.

The food is generally fine in Metro Manila, and $500 a month is more than enough. Eating low carb is definitely a challenge though. When I eat low carb, I usually order chicken or pork takeout from local barbecue places (Chicboy, Andoks, Mang Inasal, Chooks, SM Supermarket, etc.) and eat it at home with cabbage, cauliflower rice, spinach, kimchi, or a combination of the above.

Once you leave Manila, the food is a different story...

Means agreeableness is fairly high.
4) If her grades are high and it's a reputable school, it shows she has a certain level of intelligence.
5) It shows a certain level of physical robustness, if she's always able to study hard, it means she wasn't seriously sick all the time.

Someone with a high grades from a top school in nursing has been doing exactly as she's told for years, maybe over a decade. This is why many elite companies -- Wall street parasites for instance, but wealthy parasites--only recruit from certain schools. You might get an underachiever like George Bush out from Harvard Biz School, but most of the people you find will be very hard working and reliable if they are your ally.

To me however, I don't think I could be stimulated enough intellectually in tje Phils-- the most talented people are in 1st world countries-- that's why they're first world countries. Thanks Paul. You made several interesting and informative points. I would like to bounce a few more ideas off of you since you have on the ground information, and your profile says that you are from the United States – so that part would be similar to me and probably several other RVF guys considering the Phils as a possibility. Additionally, it seems to me that you share several values of guys on this forum (such as the desire to spend time meeting and banging girls); however, I am also open to PM, if you would feel more comfortable NOT sharing some information publicly.

Your description of $1,000 per month excluding lodging seems quite a bit less than what I had been considering. I was thinking under $3,000 per month total (including lodging), and my considerations included travelling back to the USA about twice a year and travelling around Asia (and possibly a little outside depending on travel deals) about once every 6-8 weeks.

I would NOT consider managing your two rental properties to be “retirement,” but certainly renting and managing your own properties is getting pretty close to a form of retirement because you are more or less your own boss. Nonetheless, once you get to the point where you are hardly having to perform any work (such as having someone else largely manage anything that comes up with your properties), then that may be more in the line of what I would consider retirement. Without necessarily getting into your particulars, how much investment capital would you say that a guy would need to have to be able to own and rent three properties in Manila or another part of the Phils, in a similar situation like you have $250,000 - $400,000? Actually, I personally believe that it would be safer to generate at least a $1,500 per month income in order to have enough left over cushion to feel fairly safe, but maybe to continue to up the rental income over the years by reinvesting some of the profits.

Sometimes guys will wonder about investing in property in a third world country – because property is NOT very mobile and because of feelings about the security of one’s assets, because also if you are NOT a citizen of that country there are uncertainties about how many rights you have if push comes to shove and you get into some disputes with some locals and/or govt officials… who then may try to go after your accumulated assets. Also, if you are kind of a player and some of the girls in your harem may get attached to you and potentially try to create drama and/or attempt to liberate you from your accumulated assets, no?

That seems to be one of the perks of basing oneself in the Phils is the geographical logistics and being able to periodically bounce to several nearby and fairly exotic locations for a fairly inexpensive trips. You said that you want to travel more, so at this time are you travelling in the area a few times a year?

I am glad to hear that you do NOT consider life in the Phils boring, and I suppose that it is a matter of finding some activities that are interesting. The activities may vary from person to person, but you listed several activities that would be good enough for me. Additionally, meeting and banging girls can be interesting in itself. I also get some pleasure out of reading and writing… so if I were to have more time, I could engage in those kinds of activities (so I am thinking that I would NOT easily get bored so long as I have access to the internet for research and a computer for writing).

Personally, I would rather NOT have to spend very much time cooking my own meals, shopping or doing my laundry. Currently, part of my goal in leaving the first world is to be able to get out of having to engage in those kinds of activities (without having the burden of a wife or friend with benefits), so I would want to include enough in my budget in order that I would be able to contract out some of those activities that I find less interesting.

I would imagine that there is more food variety in a big cities like Manila, and I hear that Cebu has a lot of Koreans, so may be some Korean food there.. and Davao has a china town, so maybe some good Chinese food there?

On another thread, I mentioned that it may be a good challenge to find girls in the Phils that would be ready, willing and able to assist in a venture of seeking out and locating good food in the Phils, as a sort of hobby. Then of course bang them afterwards and rinse and repeat.
