The term model can be a pretty loose term, especially in the Philippines. Anyone who has had a photographer take pictures of them, paid or unpaid, could be considered a model. Not really a high paying job, I don't think a lot lead very luxurious lives.

Yes, at Palladium some of them are very hot. Yes, some of them are sluts. Yes, some of them may have actually been in magazines or fashion at one point but that's the exception. Some of them are naughty girls, some won't be photographed by the promoters. Some of them are 'encouraged' to party with foreigners so they buy bottles. Some of them like foreigners and wouldn't mind a foreign BF. Some like dressing up in hot outfits and having their pictures taken but don't really interact with anyone except their friends. Some of them who you see with dorky dudes are bar girls they found at a go-go bar or naughty girls they brought over from Cafe Havana across the street at Greenbelt to pay money for a bottle and pretend that they're baller for the night before they go back to their hotel and p4p.

They email it to you automatically. I don't remember getting it when I tried it out like 3-4 years ago. It's mildly amusing but nothing I would put stock in.

It's based on the questions you answer for compatibility. "How important is xx to you." "Would you date this kind of person."

But it's pretty bullshit, since people lie about their answers on questionnaires all the time. Like the question "Would you sleep with someone on the first date." On paper most super religious girls like in Indonesia/Phils will probably put "NO" with "Very Important". Which maybe for a lot of girls is true but a lot for sure would do it but never admit it. I answered "Yes" Privately with "No relevance", which is why it probably listed those. In the Scandi countries I can see attitudes being more relaxed so more probably answered yes.

Malaysia and Singapore I can believe it though.

But, doesn't the survey also ask you questions to get at what ethnicities you like and what physical characteristics in women.. what kind of food and drink and whether you are family oriented person or a party animal or some other variation in your life style choices? Also, whether you like women who are easy or a challenge, in terms of Bang...

The survey should also ask you about how much money you make and how you would like to spend it, but maybe it does not get into those kinds of details?

Also, the survey would ask you what you like in a mate..... I cannot disagree that some of it may not be very accurate... and when they are saying in the world there are a lot of people like this in this location..

It asks women and men identical things for compatibility with each other. It's not really a survey - it's just a bunch of questions you can choose to answer 0 or hundreds if you like to improve your match score.

It wouldn't ask guys "Do you like big boobs?" since women can't answer the same question (well I guess they technically could). It does ask "Would you consider dating someone that is overweight?" It can't ask questions like what ethnicities you like or open ended questions like what physical characteristics since the responses are multiple choice only with a few limited answers.

There might be an okcupid discussion thread on here that discusses it more. It might be worth it to never answer any of the questions so that you appear 0% match 0% friend 0% enemy and don't disqualify yourself from women that are super picky about their match score.

Probably, you and i are on a similar page regarding the accuracy or the lack thereof of the results... and take your example..

"would you consider dating someone overweight?"

Any of us may answer all kinds of fantasy responses to those kinds of questions, but when the rubber hits the road and push comes to shove, our actions will speak louder than words and frequently, people will compromise their preferences... based on reality or really what they believe to be their options......

I am not an exception to this, and I have read various game goals of many RVF members is to improve their game in order to improve BATNA (Best alternative to a negotiated agreement)... that is to say that if we have better options, then we can afford to be more picky and NOT reach an agreement that we do not want b/c we can afford to walk away from a deal and we are thereby likely to get better results in any situation we negotiate, when we improve our BATNA... It seems that some RVF members do have different ways of expressing these kinds of ideas, but ultimately, it seems that the improvement of game would improve BATNA...

Random thread bump:

I was reading up on one of my favorite cities in the Philippines, Dumaguete and I came across a very interesting fact about the origins of the city's name, from Wikipedia:

"Dumaguete" was coined from the Visayan word "daggit" which means "to snatch". Because of the frequent marauding attacks of the pirates on this once coastal town, and the power to attract and keep her visitors for good, the word "dumaguet" was coined, meaning "to swoop".

Inspired by this thread I made up a profile on DIA and said I was in Cebu. Sent out 15 openers and got 7 replies, + 3 girls opening me within 24 hours.

One girl suggested we skype, and I chatted with her for a good 20 minutes. She was lounging around in a chair, singing and smiling at me. I asked what she was singing and she said "love songs" (it was Billy Joel, lol). I told to her to stand up and show me her dress and she spun around and sang while smiling at me. God damn I can't remember the last time a Canadian girl was so carefree and friendly like that.

She wanted a tour around my apartment and when I showed her she said it was amazing. My apartment is honestly the worst (and cheapest) piece of shit in my city. The building is 30+ years old and hasn't been updated ever except the floor.

Guys, I've never posted in the Rooshv Forums before (just signed up after reading for a year or two).

My situation: I'm moving to the Philippines in about 4 months and staying there a year or more. I'm 31, tall, very fit, white, easy on the eyes.

Question: I'll be staying in either Iloilo or Davao, but I haven't decided between the two. Since I won't have a car, Iloilo seems like the better city, as it's more compact, and seems walkable. It's a third the size of Davao, but still has about 25,000 women between 18 and 22 (versus 75,000 for Davao) which are the ages I date here, so I'll be doing the same over there. Also, Davao has the whole insurgency heating up on the other end of the island, and being a tall white guy, there's no way I can't stand out, so, that's no bueno. Anyhow, what do you guys think, Davao, or Ioilo?

I live in Austin, TX, and I'm not into tattooed, fat, smoking, alcoholic, bisexual, promiscuous American girls, they're fine for having a couple of drinks and sex here and there, but for marriage, no thanks. My reason for going to the Philippines is to find an educated, good looking, young wife with values similar to mine (my parents were born in another country), and bring her back to have a better life here, for herself and her children. That's why I'm staying for a year or more, to build a relationship, meet her family, etc. I'll occupy my time with learning programming languages, so I'll have plenty to do while I'm there.

I could also move to any other country, but looking at all the factors, the Philippines seems like the best bet.

Thoughts?

1. Good luck. UT grad here. I just returned from Manila and Cebu
earlier this year. If you are decent looking and in shape you are
going to be knee deep in more girls than you can keep track of.

2. If I was you......I would find the city you can handle living in the
most......use it as your base and then travel from there. Those
smaller cities will get old quickly. I was bored off my ass in Cebu
in 4-5 days to give you an idea. Use one of the asian cities you like
as your hub and then be prepared to go fishing in other markets too.

trips to HCMC
trips to Seoul
trips to Cambodia
trips to BKK or rural thailand

Filipinas are the easiest because of the language barrier......but they
BORE THE SHIT OUT OF ME. Shop around ......I hope you saved your
money......the trip will likely cost twice what you have "planned for".

Here are some quick thoughts...

- You will get bored within a few months in either location
- Don't let people scare you off from Manila. People love to talk shit on Manila but I like the place. (Makati/BGC)
- You want to find an "educated" woman? You are not going to find that in the smaller cities. Your best chance is with the upper class in Manila.
- If you do decide to live in the smaller cities like you mentioned learn to drive a motorbike. It will make everything infinitely more convenient for you.
- Don't worry about insurgents in Davao.
- If you bring back a girl to America she will not be the same girl she was in the Philippines. America will change her.
- Don't lock yourself into a contract right away when you get to the philippines. Rent for a month and find out if you like it. You don't mention your travel experience. Some people can't handle life in the 3rd world for very long. It can be extremely frustrating to some people.

I haven't been to Davao but I was in Iloilo a few months back and I don't recommend it, you can read my trip report here. There's nothing much to do or see in Iloilo, no near by beach and the down town area is a dump (as are the downtown's of most cities in the Philippines). The most attractive part of the city is all in one area: Smallville, Plazeula and SM mall, the entire area was built in the past five years or so and its the closet thing they have to an entertainment district, very artificial though. The only bonus of the city is that there aren't many gringos there, so you may be the only foreigner in the club, but there's a reason for that, the place kinda sucks.

I agree with DD, if you want more educated, upper class women, then head to Manila and stay somewhere like Makati or BGC, if you get sick of the city, you can always hop on a plane to any other city for a few days, round trip of about $150-200. Or you can drive or take a bus 1-2 hours outside of Manila to the Batangas area, some nice spots up there (ex: Lake Taal).

Then of course there's my most favorite city in the country which may be one of my favorite cities I've ever visited which is Dumaguete, again, you can read my intel here. The city's population is 1/3 students so there's young pussy everywhere and there's nice beaches, hills and jungles around to keep you busy. The city's name literally means "to swoop" in the Visayan language, I hope some RVF members check it out this coming winter to see what they think.

Dalbroker, I didn't get to go to UT Austin, but my brother did, and he's part of the reason I'm in Austin. Anyhow, hat's off to ya!

I get what you all mean about being bored, especially coming from Austin, TX, where there's always something to do...I definitely won't make any long term commitments until my boots hit the ground, then. I'll stay flexible.

Dumaguete...I lived in Denton, TX, which closely mirrors Dumaguete's stats, for a year, and I've got great memories, college towns are fun. The fact that Dumaguete has a nearby beach is a major plus for me, since I'm fit and look young (bouncers here in Austin still make me read my DOB out sometimes), and also, all the students concentrated in that area makes for great logistics. My main objection to Dumaguete is there's tourists there, and I don't want to be associated with the stigma of the guys that go there for hookers, that's just not my thing. Also, I wouldn't be able to take a girl's parents out to dinner regularly in Dumaguete (since the students are from elsewhere), to see if she respects her dad and gets along well with her mom, and those two things have always been big factors for me. So, that's why Davao or Iloilo (or even Butuan), appeal to me, due to the higher foreigner value you mentioned. That said, it's still a possibility.

So, by “educated,” I mean a girl that's in college and has good values. I'm not too concerned about her changing when she comes back to America, though, I'm an entrepreneur, life's all about risk, you can't win if you don't play the game.

Many men have been sucked in by the sweet, young, feminine girls you will meet. It is so easy for guys to feel the warmth and sweetness that they would never get in America and just fall head over heels for the girl.

You need to take a step back from the wife hunt the first several months and focus on having lots of mini relationships with lots of girls. This will give you some valuable intel on how filipinas work and allow you to see the darker side as well.

You should probably bang or have mini-relationships 10 to 20 girls before you even consider looking for a long term girlfriend. It will help you out in learning how to control the relationship and give you a realistic view of how filipinas work.

- Philippines does not allow a divorce.
- When you marry a filipina you marry the whole family, parents/brothers/sisters/cousins/aunts/uncles/grandparents/everyone, and they will all come asking for money at some point.
- when you are there talk to lots of foreign guys who have married filipinas, they will be a fountain of knowledge that may keep you from huge mistakes.

You're right about not marrying in the Philippines, I'd have a girl come over on a fiance visa (hence, I have to win her parents over). The thing is, girls get attached to me, I've never had a girl break up with me, they all wanted to get married, I'm charming at times, a jerk at others, and a charming jerk at my best, and girls seem to dig that. As far as money requests, that's not a problem, my Mexican relatives do the same, it's all about being a man and setting boundaries. I'm going over there to conquer in the tradition of my ancestors, like a Spaniard at the gates of Tenochtitlan.

But I appreciate where you're coming from, definitely, I'm just no spring chicken, lol, I know exactly what I want, and I have the means to get it, so I'm getting it.

I don't think that you'll have too hard of a time finding what you want but you may have to be a bit more flexible in terms of what your ideal woman is. You can easily find a "good girl" in the 18-22 range, a devout Catholic who is family oriented who may even be a virgin, there's tons of them in the provinces. However, as we've been mentioning, these girls do tend to be fairly boring and have limited life experience, they may not be keen on leaving the Philippines. On the other hand, you can find an educated girl in Manila or Cebu but she may not be the sweet, innocent, sexually inexperienced girl you may be after. Actually, there's quite a few skanks in the Philippines but I'm sure you'll find something you like there, just don't shack up with the first one you meet.

As far as taking a Filipina to the USA, a lot of guys say that under no circumstances should you ever take a foreign woman home, I think you're making a wise choice to bring a Filipina to the USA, they're probably one of the best types of women to take back to the west. Hopefully there's some other Filipinos in your home town, I know a few guys who've done this in Canada and their wives tend to integrate very well and they're happy.

Since, you have only made three postings here (and all in this thread), guys do not really know about you and whether what your claiming is a fair assessment or not, and sometimes it may be useful to describe some of these kinds of circumstances in order for guys on this forum to understand why you are coming to certain conclusions about your predictions about what will happen in any given place... b/c some of the stuff that you had been suggesting in your posts seem quite contrary to some of the strategies and preferences of guys on this forum..

Sure, you are giving some explanation after making the claim, which may help, but I have a hard time becoming inspired by mere assertions.. that don't really have a context.

Thanks man! My ex-girlfriend here in the states was half filipino, amazing girl, nothing like the full American girls I've dated, if I could find another one like her here in Austin easily, I'd do it. However, Austin, TX isn't the place for it, and if I'm going to move, might as well move to where the situation is most favorable to me, so the Philippines sounds good. As far as the girls being boring, I'll just have to look as much as possible, like you said. I'll definitely post up some notes when I get there...might even write a book about the whole journey.

Great question. I'm choosing the Philippines because of:

1. The language. I could go to Eastern Europe (or some other country), but then I'd have to learn another language, and since Filipino girls mostly speak basic English, it just seems perfect. I speak fluent Spanish and English, and I'm not keen on learning another foreign language...but, if it's worth it, then I'd be open to it, especially if it's a marketable foreign language, for an extra benefit. I could do a Spanish-speaking country, but looking at all the factors, it seems like my value would be higher in the Philippines than in any other country.

2. The laws. Some foreign countries are pretty sketchy as far as laws go, but the Philippines seems to be something like Mexico before the cartels became a problem, a bit rough, but relatively safe as long as you behave, stay away from certain areas at certain times, and don't go around making enemies with the locals.

3. Cold approaches seem to work. In Mexico (a country I've lived in), for example, social circle game is by far the way to go, so I'm thinking the other Spanish speaking countries are similar (but I haven't been to them, so I could be wrong), creating a handicap for me as a foreigner. Based on the forum posts, Filipino girls are pretty receptive to cold approaches, so that's a great plus, as I've got no qualms about walking up to a cutie and chatting her up.

So that's why, in a nutshell, I'm leaning towards the Philippines.

On thing I've though of because I want to have kids is to have a kid with the girl before bringing her back. Most women with infants are too exhausted and focused on their brat to run around chasing RVF type men. If you bring her over when the kids about two, kid will be 5-6 by the time she gets citizenship and even if she goes crazy and ditches you then, you only have maybe 12-13 years to pay child support instead of 16.

Seems a little like crazy talk to me, but to each his own about strategies in bringing a girl back.

Let's say you are in your 40s or 50s and you bring back an attractive Filipina in her early 20s. It is just not her youth and hormones that is going to cause her to go crazy, but it is also that she is going to be receiving all kinds of offers from Alpha and Beta guys in the States.

Even if she is the most well-intended girl in the world, she may have to be a saint to resist all of the offers that she is going to get. This may be possible for her to resist, but the odds seem long and against a favorable outcome for the guy bringing back this girl.

More realistically, if you want an LTR, probably either you need to consider staying in the Philippines with her or relocating to some intermediary location (that has a higher standard of living, but not so high as to give her mobility), such as Mexico or another location that is not quite in the 1st world.. but a step up from the Phils.

I know some guys seem to be dead-set on coming back to the USA with a girl and possibly kid, and maybe you will get lucky and it will all work out.. but yes, as you say, IKE, you are gonna have to prepare for the worse case scenario of the chick fleeing which seems better than 50% that the fleeing will happen, even when you attempt to play your cards right, especially, if you are dealing with around a 30 year age difference.

Another possibility may be to pick a less attractive girl or one that is in her late 20s in order that by the time she is eligible to leave, she will be in her mid 30s... which guys may likely stop providing offers to her by that time....

You're pointing out real risks, it's true. Have you ever lived overseas?

Maybe two brats would be better protection than one?

Do you go after single mothers? I thought cool player guys generally thought themselves above it.. and do Betas go after married chix? I'd probably plan on distancing myself if she's giving me any flak when kids are 15 or so at the most, I don't want to hear her whining when I get really old. That would only be three years of child support.

It' certainly a risk, but living in Ukraine def sucked long term, just chronic low grade paranoia and pessimism, there's no safety in life, just picking which sucky things to avoid.

Third world stupidity or tough competition from rich guys in the 1st world.

It may be o.k. to pick a girl with kids already, that may make her more solidly likely to stay with you. I'm not totally against the idea for a guy who may be in his 40s and/or 50s to hook up with a LTR with a girl with kids, b/c that may be a more realistic solution to the whole scenario, in the event that you are inclined to bring a girl back.

Also, even in the Phils, there are a lot of girls in their 18-25 range who are single, but also there seems to be quite a few who also have kids in that age range, from my browsing through some of the dating sites.


Like you said pick your poison and calculate the best that you can hope for under the circumstances.

I would be thinking more like Spaniard88 and to date around for quite a while before jumping into this quagmire... and a year may not be enough for my tastes.... but if you are of the LTR mind-set, you may be disinclined to keep playing the field and there will be a lot of seemingly nice girls in the Phils making offers to settle with you.

It is not a good negotiating position to negotiate when you are feeling desperate, and largely that feeling of desperation may be a mental state, but I also realize that us guys can also feel that we have biological clocks and limits in our ability to attract a fitting longer term companion.... Also, the physical reality, as a guy ages, he may realistically begin to have some physical health issues that make it much more difficult for him to game or to be in the dating scene.

Ultimately, we just have to figure out our inner game and strategies that make us appear not desperate, even when we are feeling somewhat desperate... And, also working on our inner game is also going to help us in avoiding points of desperation even when we may be lacking in some physical body or financial assets.
