Slubu, do you live in Manhattan or one of the neighboring boroughs? I recently left L.A. for good myself and figuring out my next move. I'm curious, what are typical rental prices for studios in neighborhoods close to the action?

Manhattan, downtown. They vary the prices a lot. You can probably get a decent studio for about 2k is my guess.

Do people really believe they live in NYC if they don't live in manhattan?

Manhattan is basically the main reason people get laid, it's so dense and easy that you can literally fuck it up in 5 different venues and just walk 2 blocks away and see 100 new people to talk to.

(I know that sounds pompous but really the point is manhattan is hands down the best logistics you could ask for)

The downside of NYC is actually forcing yourself to 1) game less and 2) save money.... If you have no self control your pockets will be emptied quickly. Even with $500K a year it's definitely possible to spend it all if you realt wanted to, the city has too much to offer haha

I've been successful living in Manhattan and not living in Manhattan. I'm not in Manhattan at the moment and have two first date bangs in the last week both back at the girl's place. NYC is a meat market. Even with roommates, girls are willing to bring you back on the first night. Having a good time and banging without being judged to be a slut is just part of the NYC experience for girls.

I know many people here are down on DC, but after living in LA for years and moving to DC, it was INCREDIBLE how much easier things were in DC. I'm a bit of a smarter guy and since politics and government attracts people who think they're smart, I had a very easy time in DC.

That being said, DC is more expensive than even NYC! I think DC is almost as expensive these days as SF.

I wonder if there is a correlation between very expensive to live and ease of sex. My guess is that the constant stress to get your rent paid leads to long nights to relieve that stress.

There's just a lot more activity financially and socially. If you put in the work you can get more out of both. But there is competition in both as well. Cost is driven up by people seeking opportunity, and those people don't want to watch TV and raise kids in the suburbs, they want to make money and bang.

I rolled with Slubu and another member who was recently in NYC, and they both say NYC is uniformly superior when it comes to girls.

Almost every time I go out in LA now, it's a shock to my psyche, even though I've been doing it off and on for ages now. Some observations:

Girls are obsequiously polite to each other and appallingly rude to men. Last night I was talking to my wing and this girl, call her Laura. The girl strikes up a conversation with another girl who is stranger to all three of us. Laura asks for her name and introduces herself to the other girl within a minute, while we had been talking to this girl for several minutes, casually, and she hadn't made the slightest attempt at getting our names. We both sensed she was an attention whore of course, and were just passing time. But this sort of thing happens every time I go out - girls dart out of conversation for no apparent reason at all, they grab their friends away with zero notice or apology to you. Done in any other, polite context it would be appallingly rude, but here it's standard fare.

The excess of men in LA means women treat them without the slightest regard. Both Slubu and the other forum member fingered the sex ratio as the big factor here. With the barrage of male attention, men are something to be avoided or at best tolerated, even if they are cool. Laura from above called my wing thirsty with zero basis and I proceeded to berate her and tell her her male ancestors in her home country wouldn't put up with an uppity chick like her for a second. Probably the first, and last, time she'll hear anything like that. Didn't help me any.

LA girls are just utterly blasé. They just have this complete indifference to men interested in them. I could die in front of her and it wouldn't elicit much reaction. If anything, they are extremely fatalistic about meeting men, probably because they can be when there are so many of them. Making any effort to get laid or go on dates is just foreign to attractive girls here. Going out of their way to do those things just doesn't register with them, they can't conceive of such a thing. Your penis has to semi-magically end up inside her, preferably when there's absolutely nothing better to do, like brunch.

LA girls have little thirst. I've been going out for years and I still have no clue what girls expect to find in a bar as they wait in a long line, and whether they in fact find it. These girls will lard up their schedule with dumb shit and lame friends instead of having great sex. It's like the fact that men are so common that men as a class become lower status, and thus sex becomes less worthy of an activity. Brunch or great sex? A lot of LA girls, and maybe girls in general have no problem choosing the brunch. Sex has lost its urgency and excitement, even when you've fucked them well before, unless you have a point or two on her in status.

DUI Laws. For one, people are pussies in this state when it comes to politics. People like to gripe about these things, but it's extremely rare to hear them make a principled stand. It's more like "the state is fucking us over, I just wish they'd do it a little more gently next time!" Everyone is resigned to living in a police state, as just the way it is and the way it must be. DUI laws mean people always go out to nightlife in a packed car, to maximize the drinker to designated driver ratio.

To me, sex is one of the most enjoyable physical sensations there is, and the girls I fuck seem to have a good time too. But sex just isn't a high priority for them, but shopping and dining out is.

Some people who don't know me might read this and write me off as having bad game, which is understandable. But people I've rolled with consistently here experienced and felt the exact same things.

I just had a date with a girl who moved from NYC a year ago, it was great. For one, I never felt like I had to constantly engage her, as if keeping conversation flowing was exclusively my responsibility. That's how it is with a lot of girls in LA - you tolerate the exhausting one-sided (i.e. me) conversation to get refueled, hopefully, by sex. This puts you in quite the conundrum. The girls are too boring to tolerate if you're not fucking them, but you need to be friends with them to build your social circle where you get to 'warm approach' girls that are hotter than you could get through typical channels.

I also have a cousin who grew up here and was immediately happier with his girl situation once he moved to Chicago. I didn't speak to him directly, but that's what I heard through a family member.

Surely LA cannot be as bad as Washington, DC! I can't get dates with good looking girls (8+) no matter what I try here and have resorted to going out only once in a "blue moon" on special occasion such as friends birthdays or Embassy parties; spending the rest of my Friday/Saturday nights just lifting weights at my 24-7 gym. I also rarely see HBs on streets so day game is hopeless unless one is still in college (American U, Georgetown U, GWU are exception but impossible to game there if one is over 30) and dating sites like OKC are even worse.

I would love to hear some more comparisons from guys who have lived and gamed in both L.A. and D.C. At least in D.C.'s corner, the ratios are more favorable(the east coast in general). The further west, the more cock.

TripleG, I have to say that my experiences, and those of Slubu and my other wing, are based mostly on night game. It's possible that day game is less bad, but I imagine NYC is still leagues ahead.

There definitely are a lot of babes walking the streets here. I got a street notch this weekend, possibly my first.

One funny, tragic thing that always happens: you see a lot of girls standing in line for a venue or going in. Then you go inside and they've practically disappeared. Typically, they sit at big group tables by themselves or men they're friends with. Either way it's shit for scoring strange. In bars there will be areas with ten guys and no girls and vice versa.

I lived in DC for three months and it was by far much much worse than LA.

DC, from my experience, was just as bad as everyone on here makes it out to be. It wasn't too bad if you knew people who were in one of the universities there who could pull you into those social environments, but the regular post-college female in DC was borderline lesbian (if they were straight-- there were a lot of lesbians in DC).

LA is different from other major cities. You really have to establish yourself here with the right sort of people to realize any benefits. It's probably not the best city for the average Joe working the average office job. Your social circle makes or breaks you here. It's not as good as a place like New York where you can just walk around and come across some beautiful girls who will be able to hold a conversation, but it's no DC!

It's more that girls in LA tend to be vapid and attracted to shiny things like fame and cars whereas girls in San Francisco tend to be slightly more cerebral and not as driven by social status. In LA your game has to be strong and even borderline deceptive or massively arrogant because there are a lot of slick dudes with status to compete with and as mentioned in this thread interaction is largely driven by social circles for anything beyond club sluts. In SF if you can string a few sentences together and dress cool and just be kind of normal and not a dork then approaches are well received, but keep in mind that SF is not a babe town so it takes some searching. The 49er thing is easy to punch through with a properly calibrated swagger, which in SF is more of an understated confidence versus LA which requires that you broadcast your status like the bat signal. NYC is somewhere in the middle between LA douche game and SF normal guy game. In NYC just being a Manhattan resident gives a guy adequate status so less broadcasting is needed than in LA, but girls are more stylish and better looking and more "cool" than in SF so being a "cool" guy is more important and effective. As far as girls in each city, I would say LA is good on the low end with a lot of young girls who were the prettiest at the high school in whatever shitty town they are from and LA certainly has the prettiest hipster girls if that's your thing. SF does okay in the middle with educated girls who have real jobs but if you snag a pretty one it's guaranteed she will have ugly friends who you will probably have to hang out with because in SF if you value looks more than notches then unfortunately if you get a pretty one it is best to hang on to her for a while. And at the top end it's NYC by a mile, but the top end requires access to the fashion industry in some form which if you can pull off will give you the opportunity to have the best of the best. If I could start my my life over again I would move to Manhattan with a camera at 18 years old and hustle my way into being a fashion photographer. NYC is strong in the middle as well but I feel that banging a bunch of mediocre looking Carrie Bradshaw wannabes is a misuse of time and resources in a place where the only real reason to be there is to have access to truly top end girls.

Tier 1 US city comparison

New York is the shittiest place as far as cost, weather, negativity. Easiest for getting laid. 2nd most down to earth, normal people after Chicago. Girls are the most DTF here of the tier 1's. Game is good to have here, but not mandatory.

San Francisco is more laid back, and much more feminist. More elitist. More bitchy women choosing. Too many dudes. If you're looking for an "equal partner" in a woman, SF is the place. The only city where massive game is seen as a DLV. You do need to speak these girls language.

DC is a mix of New York & SF. It has more women than dudes, but it doesn't help because they're over educated compared to the men, and often earn as much. Quite feminist, but less so than SF. Lowest quality. You need game here.

LA is a different beast. Not intellectually elitist compared to the other 3. Extremely shallow & vapid people. Fake everything. Guys throw around money & game. Women are jaded to a player. Not much going for girls besides their looks (which can be exceptional). Best quality of life though. And weather. Happier people. On the outside at least. Game is most important thing in LA.

Miami has the hottest girls. But take everything shallow about LA. Then double or triple it. Your game should be the sickest on the planet. If not, your bankroll needs to be.

Chicago is the most normal tier 1. But it's the city I have least experience in. Can't speak on the ATL either.
