Also, you have to figure in car payments, car insurance, vehicle registration, gas prices, and maintenance fees if one were to live in sprawled out LA. The passive aggressive attitudes and obsession about "making it" in the entertainment industry would really irk many guys as well.

I've lived in both NYC and LA for a decent amount of time. Most, if not all, my gaming during those periods was day game. The biggest thing that ruins day game for me in LA is that women REALLY hate and/or fear being approached in the streets. I've been treated like a total creep for doing it, whereas in NYC it isn't a very big deal.

That being said, it is very hard to adopt a "just game as you go about your day" mentality in LA for the reason I stated above and many others.

LA is probably the single most overrated major American city for getting women. The logistics suck, the nightlife sucks, the urban sprawl fucks everything up at night, the women have bad attitudes and aren't as DTF for random guys, and the logistics suck. LA is more about social circle if you want hotties.

If you want to bang and have casual relationships with 8+ women in LA you need to be really good looking or have tight game. Guys in LA with hot girls did not get those women from cold approach. For the high prices and traffic LA is a rip off and I can't wait to move out of LA and go somewhere like Atlanta, Minneapolis, or NYC and clean up.

The competition and flakiness/attitude of the women here makes me think that any guy in LA who go to any other American city would absolutely clean house. Dealing with the approachability, attitudes, flakiness, competition, and shitty logistics of LA and going to a better city I would probably feel like a Kryptonian who just landed on planet earth and got superpowers. LA has got to be considered a hyperbolic time chamber for dealing with women.

Night game and cold approach game in LA is just shitty. Unless you're doing college game or perhaps you've figured out West Hollywood and your logistics are excellent or you're a really good looking guy with amazing game and logistics in Santa Monica or Hermosa Beach I don't really see why anyone would willingly come here if they wanted a city where they could enjoy attractive women.

I feel like my game will reach a whole new level when I'm ready to hit a new city.

I can only speak of LA. But I had a few great times in LA and got laid fairly easily. I was living in San Diego, and it's a bit more difficult to hook up there. The girls tend to be snootier. There's so many dudes in San Diego. There's the SEAL base at Coronado, and Camp Pendleton with 40,000 Marines, and thousands of young Border Patrol agents. So, the girls tend to be picky since there's young, fit guys everywhere.

But every time I visited LA, I met some random chicks and ended up at their house. I had a great time in Manhattan Beach. The people there are pretty laid back and super friendly. It's where Johnny Depp was dealing drugs in the movie "Blow". Great spot. I thought LA was fun.

It's totally different game but LA have way more dumb and easy girls than NYC but NYC is way more expensive than LA. So, if you have a place in Manhattan, which I did, New York would be much better than LA.

LA girls are much easier than NYC from my experience. Dumber = easier to fuck. I lived in LA for 10 years, and been in NYC for 6. Yes, logistics are obviously better in NYC, but that's the only pro I can think of. LA girls were friendlier and more approachable. NYC is the catcalling capital of the world so the girls here have their guards up, not to mention they're always in a rush to get somewhere. The advantage of quantity can also work against you. Everyone is easily replaceable. She can easily end your date to go hook up with another guy a block away. Overall, I give the nod to LA over NYC.

Girls have straight up stared at me here, which doesn't really happen at home - even a girl who is very interested in you will maybe give you a glance at best. On the flip side, girls who didn't want to talk to me or my buddy here were not subtle about their disinterest. We got a few one word answers where the girl immediately walked away.

Girls are a lot more yes/no here. A California girl who's not really interested in you will often hang around and let you talk her into it. I don't really see girls here doing that.

Girls are not afraid to beta their boyfriends here, which is kind of fucked up. A few girls have straight up stared at me while walking with their boyfriends. A girl in CA would be a lot more subtle normally.

My initial impression is that masculinity is respected here. So is outspokenness. I can't really say that about home.

On the 3rd day of trying to figure out why I was getting ignored so much, I started changing the way I move and walk. Started walking more aggressively, more of an open stance. More of a come-at-me attitude. More attitude in general. More of a pissed off arrogant look on my face, even if I wasn't feeling that way exactly. This made a huge difference in how girls responded and were willing to talk to me.

My impression is that you have to be more aggressive and that if you aren't here then forget it, because the other guys are.

There is also a wider age range of girls showing interest here. Teenage girls at one point - that would almost never happen in SF."

You're telling me that West Hollywood doesn't represent about greater area of LA. Ok, but when you say LA, people don't immediately think about downtown anyway. They think about West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and so on.

NYC, as a whole (minus Staten Island), has FAR better logistics than LA.

The subway system runs 24/7 and connects to every borough with the exception of Staten Island. You can take the subway 30 mins. from Queens/Brooklyn to Manhattan and run day game then set up a day 2 near your joint for another day. Heck, you can still do day or night game in a place like Queens or Brooklyn. It's also dramatically easier to pull in the other NYC boroughs vs. LA since the car issue is taken out of the equation. The girl can freely ditch her friend if you're looking to pull from the bar/club since the subways run nonstop and go all over NYC. This luxury doesn't exist in LA, since they rode together in one (and one) car only. One also can't freely throw out the Uber thing, either, since a lot of these women come to the bar/club from 45-60 minutes away. Very few of them are able to afford a $50 Uber ride.

NYC (alongside Chicago) slaughters LA for day game, night game, overall logistics, and quality of coloured women.

Heck, I saw more hawt Latinas in 1 day in Washington Heights than I've seen in 4 months out here in Los Angeles.

Even though it was totally hypothetical, speakeasy had a good point. LA is basically a giant sprawl, whereas NYC is a sprawl with a real city in the middle, Manhattan. LA is moving in that direction, 15 years from now it might not be so bad.

Back on topic, in defense of NYC's cost of living and its impact on game. I've made this point before, and here it goes again.

For all of the complaints about the cost of living in NYC, wealth is neutralized to a significant extent. The guy with $100 million doesn't look any different than the guy with $100,000. The $20 million apartment is tucked away up in some old building that every asshole can walk by. The cars? You don't have one, and his are in storage somewhere -- to the girls, its the same thing.

In LA, wealth or the lack of it is blatant. You have to get in your car to go to fucking Starbucks. A $20 million house is practically an estate.

I know guys that live in unbelievably bad "apartments" and have zero trouble pulling girls in NYC. Live in a shack, without a car, in LA and your homeless.

I like both cities. I have not lived in LA, though I've considered it. I've spent tons of time in NYC, though less now than before. Oddly, I do best with LA girls, when I'm in other parts of the country. Some of you will fit in one city a lot better than the other, either because of friends, what you can relate to, or just the general vibe. If your in shape, smart, and reasonably attractive you should be able to fit in with both.

At the very least your doing yourself a disservice not to spend time in both. I've also recommended on the forum before, if your in your early 20s, at least try moving to NYC. The amount of shit and hustling you'll learn spending a year or two there will give you an advantage over other people for the rest of your life. Once your older, its different.

This is a brilliant point and I believe LA having mansions and fancy cars is the precise reason it's filled with such a disproportionate amount of hollow, superficial people (Hollywood culture heavily contributes to this, too).

The car scene, especially, is disgusting. High school dropouts who tint windows, while living with their parents, driving used BMWs out here.

You are spot-on in that if LA was put in the middle of the country no one would pay it any mind because its main draw is the weather and beaches. The city itself couldn't hold its own. I fully agree. Not to get all political, but the government of California is like a hot cunt. She's constantly saying, "No matter what I do, you're going to put up with my shit, because I'm just that hot. Taxes, regulations, overpopulation... None of that shit matters, because I'm worth it." So is it any surprise when... dudes are only into her for her looks? In a not too distant past, LA was seen as a haven for the middle class. Hasn't been that way for at least 20 years now. Net domestic migration in CA is negative.

Funny thing is, NY's gov is the same, but they get to lean on the money entrenched there, I guess.

Even though it was totally hypothetical, speakeasy had a good point. LA is basically a giant sprawl, whereas NYC is a sprawl with a real city in the middle, Manhattan. LA is moving in that direction, 15 years from now it might not be so bad.

Back on topic, in defense of NYC's cost of living and its impact on game. I've made this point before, and here it goes again.

For all of the complaints about the cost of living in NYC, wealth is neutralized to a significant extent. The guy with $100 million doesn't look any different than the guy with $100,000. The $20 million apartment is tucked away up in some old building that every asshole can walk by. The cars? You don't have one, and his are in storage somewhere -- to the girls, its the same thing.

In LA, wealth or the lack of it is blatant. You have to get in your car to go to fucking Starbucks. A $20 million house is practically an estate.

I know guys that live in unbelievably bad "apartments" and have zero trouble pulling girls in NYC. Live in a shack, without a car, in LA and your homeless.

I like both cities. I have not lived in LA, though I've considered it. I've spent tons of time in NYC, though less now than before. Oddly, I do best with LA girls, when I'm in other parts of the country. Some of you will fit in one city a lot better than the other, either because of friends, what you can relate to, or just the general vibe. If your in shape, smart, and reasonably attractive you should be able to fit in with both.

At the very least your doing yourself a disservice not to spend time in both. I've also recommended on the forum before, if your in your early 20s, at least try moving to NYC. The amount of shit and hustling you'll learn spending a year or two there will give you an advantage over other people for the rest of your life. Once your older, its different.

This is a brilliant point and I believe LA having mansions and fancy cars is the precise reason it's filled with such a disproportionate amount of hollow, superficial people (Hollywood culture heavily contributes to this, too).

The car scene, especially, is disgusting. High school dropouts who tint windows, while living with their parents, driving used BMWs out here.

How the hell does the average Joe afford to live in NYC? I would like to give it a shot once I get my CPA but how would I be living? Would living in Brooklyn with 4 roomate in a 800 sq ft with no savings?

Also I heard CPAs working in public are constantly working 80+ hours a week, does NYC really work you that hard?

You're listening to and buying into a lot of hype without actually taking the time and effort to find out for yourself. Like my friend who wants to visit NYC and was told "you can never drive a car to NYC", so he's panicking about how hes going to get around now.. You can easily find a $1500-$2000/mo apt in a desirable area in Manhattan. If you think I am full of BS let me email my broker and send you back a page of results. Or just go on Compass and see for yourself. These posts about about being able to only live in bad areas for that cost are laughable. As much as they are in LA, have you seen the rental market in LA over the last two years? You're not getting a Hollywood Hills apartment for that much. Thats really funny. So much folklore here. My verdict on the women; NYC is easy and fun but the women are a little more predictable, mainly good girls just having their Sex in the City fun. LA has a lot of rando's, what I would call a lot of dodgy, agenda driven women with questionable backgrounds that I wouldn't trust at all. LA is the only city I have been catfished in regularly. I have dated quite a lot in LA since my last post. I would argue the quality and quantity is hands down better in NYC. The myth of the perfect beach volleyball girl in Santa Monica is not current day LA.

The challenge I am having now, is trying to slow things down with girls to build frame and some interest on her part. I get flooded with texts on Fridays and Saturdays. Girls in the city want to meet NOW, or that night. Back in the day I would only date on weeknights, and keep pushing a girl off for a weekend night, until she called me on it and wanted to know why I wasnt taking her out on a weekend. This would show me she has high interest level in me. And then I would have a potential LTR, or long term whatever. Now in the city, its all but impossible. These girls want to meet NOW, and if you say no, they are more likely to move on.

Everybody is comparing apartment prices between NYC and LA but you also need a car in LA. Add that to equation as well. Insurance, gas and lease or buying, will be minimum $600-700.

In terms of girls, I think New York is so much better than LA.

There's way too much flakiness in LA. I've never seen that much flakiness anywhere in my life.

$1,500 is a tough sell.

NYC is brutally expensive.

The cheapest studio apartments I've found (excluding ghetto Bronx or Staten Island) are unfurnished, tiny, and they're located in the upper tip of Manhattan (Inwood) or some boring part of Queens.

Location in NYC doesn't bother me at all since I'm fine with a 30 minute subway ride to Manhattan, but some dudes thumb their nose at that.

Oh, yeah. What's the cost?

$1,400/month. That's as cheap as you'll find, haha.

It's why I'm gunning hard for Chicago.

You can get a studio apartment in Lincoln Park (amazing neighborhood with top-flight logistics, day game, night game, parks, free zoo, beaches) for $900/month. Nothing beats that.
