Interested to know what your favourite and most successful late night club has been in Bkk?

I met an American al jazzera news presenter who covered Asia in Boss club about 3 years ago...how lucky was I?! Since then I have been to various clubs with varying success. What is trending now? I'm there in 2 weeks with a friend so I'm curious.

Well I can't say exactly where is the best current nightlife, but I lived in Bangkok for about 1 year in 2010-2011, and was visiting Bangkok this summer (2012) for about 2 months.

The after hours (2 am until 5-6 am) choices that come to mind are:
Mixx
Climax
Insomnia (or is it Insanity now?)
Scratchdog
Nana Liquid
Bossy
Shock99
Spicy (+ the bar opposite from spicy which opens at 6 am and never seems to close)

Of these venues I would avoid the last three: Bossy, Shock and Spicy. They are by far the worst and have the highest proportion of prostitutes.

Mixx used to be my first choice in 2011 not only because it had hot (and easy) women but also because of the dance floor which made picking-up that much easier (thai places dont normally have dancefloors, people just stand at stables with their own crowds...). Today the place has insulting prices, a very different crowds (many arabs, indian, black etc), and it is packed to the limit so you can barely walk.

Before Mixx opened in 2011 the first choice was an obvious Climax. But things change and at the moment I would say that they are all pretty much the same. I personally wouldn't bother too much with these places, better to get a hot chick from a bar like Oscar or RCA.

Yes, from what I understood Insanity has replaced Insomnia, so its the same venue. The reason: I heard from a friend that Insomnia was bought a few months ago. And as you said, the exit is through a burger joint. You stay classy Bangkok.

The Thai restaurant on the right hand side a little bit past that bizarre burger joint exit is pretty good and open 24 hours. Ate enough meals there, feel like they deserve a shout.

I would do everything you could to pick up before 2am as the after hour clubs ratio of normal girls to semi pro/pro gets really bad.

They all suck but Mixx is pretty fun on wednesdays. At least it has nice decor.

BTW, there's normal girls in all of them - it's just like 10-30%. Look for mixed thai groups, or thai girls with bottles of whiskey/vodka between them - better odds of non-whore-ness.

I actually had a great night last time I was in Bkk in 'the club' on Koa San road. Not sure what time it closes though. I also had some success in Q bar - bit pricey though!

I'm thinking this time we will look at scratch dog or mix.

Safe House is great, probably the one with the least prostitutes. My best nights in BKK tend to start in Funky/Demo and end in Safe House

What's this new club 'Bash' like? Sounds like it has potential to be a good genuine late night club...anyone experienced it?

Bash, it's a weird place, most of the douche bags from Levels, Bed and Qbar go over there. People seemed to have huge attitude. I was there Jan4 so who knows might have changed now.

What are the chances of pulling a legit thai girl in safe house? Looks like a pretty cool place...may well check it out.
