Got a job offer there right after college in 2007. Didn't end up taking it bc my mom got sick at the time (she recovered a year later thankfully). So glad that worked out....

Tacoma is one of the worst dumps in America. Its a complete P.O.S. avoid at all costs. Head north 30 mins and go to Seattle.

It does have the upside of if you live close, when concerts are sold out in Seattle and Vancouver, you can always get tix in Tacoma and on the cheap. You just gotta be willing to go to goddamn Tacoma. I'll get seats in the first or 2nd row for a bit over face in Tacoma while in Vancouver they're going for 3-5x face for the same ticket. Nothing going on outside that tho, get in get out.
