The future of game and PUA?
I've been effectively in the scene for just over half a year. Known about game for several, but didn't start to do anything until mid last year. I am 19, and where I live in Canada I can go out being 19.

Sure, there will always be chodes. Always 'AFC's' and beta-males. But is the future of game going to be a bunch of PUA's everywhere we go? Some of my close friends I have known for years and have never talked to about game have come to me and mentioned it in conversation, to where I tell them about my involvement and we get a bonding moment. It also seems like there are a lot of guys out there approaching hardcore. One mall in my area specifically in Toronto is almost impossible to stay a few hours there day gaming and not see some other random guy doing the same.

What is to come of this? It seems PUA and game is growing extensively. Do we just have to adapt? Do we just have to be better than the other aspiring PUA's? Or is this something that just dies off, where the noobies will try it out but figure out it is too hard and give up. However, the motivation that getting good at getting pussy is too high to pass up.

I'm sure ever even before The Game came out and PUA exploded guys went out to bars and clubs specifically to approach and try to pick up women. But I would think nowadays this has expanded 10-fold. And now it is expanding towards day game too. I am frightened of the day where I go to a small local mall and see a beautiful woman and on the way to approaching her some dude out of the blue approaches her first and begins by saying "Hey I just saw you from over there and.."

What do you guys think?

Game will never die.

As some dudes improve others will be left behind. If, and when, all men start to get their act together (highly unlikely), the required standard for success will simply increase.

Don't be frightened, it's just another challenge to face up to and overcome. Life ain't supposed to be easy. You're ability to continually overcome those challenges and raise yourself up to a higher level each time is what will ensure you continue to dominate whatever the weather.

The world never stands still. You should look forward to game changing events that level out the playing field. Those events simply give you the chance to prove yourself at a higher level. Be the first one to react and the world will be your oyster for a time.

“It is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change.” --- Charles Darwin

It's just evolution at work!!!! Embrace it!

RE: The future of game and PUA?
Game is skill that you hone over years. A good analogy is martial arts. With the recent popularity of the UFC, a lot of guys have become interested in mixed martial arts. Some of these guys are interested enough to start taking classes and learning MMA. Some will stick their toe in and immediately pull it back out. Some will dabble in it for a few months. Some will dedicate themselves for a few years. For some it will become a lifelong obsession. And a select few will become masters.

Game is the same way. There is a massive continuum that constitutes game. I don't like the term PUA, but since you used it I will use it here for illustrative purposes: is a random guy who read "Day Bang" and starts approaching women in a mall a PUA in the same way that Roosh is a PUA? No. That's like saying that the guy in the bar wearing the TapouT shirt who has 3 BJJ classes under his belt is a martial artist just like Anderson Silva is a martial artist.

Most guys who start pursuing game will never achieve great results with it, because mastering game is difficult and takes time. Just like martial arts. Just like any other skill that's worth anything. That's the reason that there are so few masters of any craft - because achieving mastery is a long and difficult journey, regardless of the specific field you've chosen to pursue.

So yes, you may see more "PUAs" in the future, if by PUAs you mean, "Any guy who has read some game literature and is approaching women." What you won't see much more of, however, is true players, because the vast majority of those guys will never become masters. They'll either crash and burn right away and decide that game is bullshit, or they'll stumble themselves into a relationship and promptly forget the little bits of game they had learned.

"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” - Romans 8:18

On the flipside, and this may be news to some, but Game wasn't "invented" by Neil Strauss or the Internet either.

RE: The future of game and PUA?
One double edged sword for the future of game is the Internet. On the one hand, it is an excellent tool to meet girls you would never have met otherwise, especially when it comes to preparing for a trip abroad. At the same time, it has become a minefield of white knights, feminist propaganda, etc.

This is a decisive moment in the history of game, young people now (especially in my age range) are much less inclined to be well read and articulate and instead opt for a life of video games, masturbation, and submitting to the first horrible girl to bat an eyelid at them. Those of us that rise above this crowd of betas will find that competition for the top tier of women has become a lot less, and the quintessential alpha male is now a dying breed. It is my sincere hope that I and everyone else on this forum, be it a guest, long or short term member, can teach our sons about the importance of not letting females trample all over them. The future of the game is up to us and those like us, to allow it to continue.

I agree with scorpion, for me the term PUA conjures up an image of a guy sitting at a bar, going through some 'lines' off of his pocket, and approaching every single girl until he eventually succeeds. Which is fair enough, some people like to live like that. For me, the game is much more than just engaging with women, its about becoming the best man you can be. As I've said in previous threads, for me the game is a quest to actualize your potential, becoming an articulate, well spoken, master of your own destiny.

The world is now more open than it has ever been. With one click of my mouse I can share ideas with someone on the other side of the world. That's why I love this forum and Roosh's work, it is bringing guys from all walks of life, from all over the world, together in pursuit of a common goal. Yes we all want to get more pussy, but more importantly it is about becoming a better man, and that is something that goes beyond what a 'PUA' is.

there always has been 20% of guys banging a disproportionate share of the better women. "Game", the current shared technology, just raised a few, the technology adopters, of the other 80% (the otherwise beta/omega male population) into a competitive position. Maybe the bottom quarter, maybe less, of the 20%, natural "game" players in the absence of the technologists, became at risk of displacement in the sexual marketplace. "Game" as a technology is just modeling the behavior of the most succesful. There will always be "most successful".

A lame "pick up artist" doesnt worry me. Reading hundreds of PUA articles doesnt compare to years and years of socializing/fucking new girls.

RE: The future of game and PUA?
I read "The Game" in 2006. I predicted that the city would soon be run amok by PUAs and PUA wannabes. Sort of like the World Series of Poker craze back in the early 2000s- Texas Hold 'Em used to be the domain of a few gambling-addicted retirees in Vegas, and in a few years it turned into a national pastime.

But in nearly a decade of living in NYC, guess how many times I've been out at night and have seen other "Game-aware" guys trying to do pickup?

Once.

By "Game-aware", I mean guys that I could positively identify as having read Game-related literature and applying it in the field: as in they were doing things like peacocking, routines, negs, etc. I don't count "naturals" approaching women or average guys trying to pick up girls without any knowledge of all of the Game literature out there.

Granted, it can be hard to tell whether a random guy that approaches a girl out of the blue has actually studied up on all of the literature and what not, but my point is that it doesn't seem that NYC is being overrun by an army of accomplished pickup artists. Hell, some nights I go out and it's hard to see ANY guys approaching girls AT ALL in bars/clubs. Obviously other people's experiences in places like Toronto are different, so maybe it's a location-dependent thing?

I think that at the end of the day the percentage of guys that have the desire, willpower and work ethic to consistently do this is a small fixed number.

Game has been around as long as mankind, it's been used not to just game women but to control the beta masses too.

I saw a guy wearing a Mystery fuzzy hat at a big bar in the city once. Kind of shocking and sad to see with my own eyes.

RE: The future of game and PUA?
Several thoughts, here:

1. 'game' has been around since Adam and Eve. In the past, it consisted of boldness, winks and smiles, gifts, etc. Most guys were schooled by their fathers in it. The competition today is nothing like it was back then, because thanks to the feminist paradigm shift, 98% of dudes have no real clue at all how to go about attracting a girl nowadays. They settle for video games and fat chicks.

2. Game, when distilled to its essence, is about being a better man. It's not about spouting some magic routines and code words to make a girl want to rape you, but about offering her, in a tempting and accessible way, something pretty rare today: an interesting, socially aware and capable, disciplined, in shape, man with a lot of life experiences. No matter how many guys read some girl-getting literature, there's only going to be a tiny minority who are prepared to put in the blood, sweat, and tears to really capitalize on it. Most guys already have a pretty good idea that if they go to the gym, make themselves seem interesting, and talk to girls more they'll do better with them, but how many can be bothered to get off their rears and actually try to implement that?

3. The heyday for game literature has passed. The Game was published in 2005, if I remember correctly. Mystery's show ran shortly thereafter. In 2013, the young, fresh, pretty girls we're interested in have had zero exposure to game concepts, which are now ancient history in the pop culture world, and the odds that they have encountered a man using learned game in any recognizeable and effective form are low.

Toronto is becoming massively saturated with game guys, especially RSD guys.

Its ridiculous and has an actual effect on the social scene of the city because there are so many PUAs approaching girls all over the city.

Hey buddy, nice to see someone else who can really understand what I am saying.

What is your experience with the city? I am worried that in 5 years when I am 24 and quite experienced with game that I have to compete against older men, guys my age in my position, and younger rich chodes. There is only 1 of me and thousands of them, and we are competing for a small pool of women compared to how many men we are. If that makes any sense.

I actually lied. I live over by Hamilton (for those who don't know, 600k+ city 40 minutes from Toronto). Seems to be a little different here, women seem more friendly, but most importantly, there isn't an abundance of PUAs (although there are some).

I live in a major city...I've seen two teams of high level guys visibly doing game and one cringeworthy crew around 10 years ago.

One other well regarded (in that era) coach worked out at a local gym (and generally lived up to his rep).

I occasionally hear retreaded game concepts....usually advice from some guy that doesn't date girls nearly as hot as mine.

There was always game, it was just never articulated. What Niel Strauss wrote was a very distorted perception of what the game really was. You think game was invented probably 5-10 years ago because you are young. There were people with amazing game and international playboys even before the time you were born. There were old school players, such as Portfirio Rubirosa, that had amazing game and reached international playboy status. So you see Game in itself has always been there but just never talked about.

Go to any bar and most of the guys don't even approach. Consciously try to pick up on any cold approaches during the day time. I guarantee you that it will be less than 5 in a month.

Most guys know game knowledge. Not many of them have the will and drive to sack up and push past their comfort zones.

Nothing will change. Learning game is too dangerous to ego issues. That's #1 reason that stop guys from getting better. So as the game will be more famous few guys will be able to actually try it and get it.

Besides, mainstream correlates game with the whole PUA movement that was ridiculed so much in mass media/societies so nobody will want to be labeled as "that guy".

RE: The future of game and PUA?
Aside from the raw definition that I use (same that Roosh uses for the forum: "anything related to getting girls in the sack"), Game with big "G" comes down to communication between guys.

Never in history have guys been able to communicate so easily and anonymously about this taboo subject.

Game is a movement enabled by the internet and fueled by necessity. As long as guys can share info online, it's not going to go away. Every man who likes sex, and sex with many women, is a potential "PUA."

I think most guys think that just doing what comes "naturally" is more important than pro-actively trying to improve their odds with women. This is because they view the relationship between men and women as a mystical one. They'd rather "relax with some bros for a drink" at a bar instead of taking an active stand because they are also afraid of being shamed as a PUA or horny guy or whatever. Going out for drinks with the bros is the farthest they are willing to go when it comes to cold approaching women. They buy into the whole 1990s "be yourself" "don't be a poseur" pseudo-earnestness without taking a deeper stab at what it means to really be yourself and explore your animal nature. Society doesn't want and army of selves. Society is going to make it very difficult for anybody to nurture true individuality.

The mindset that keeps most guys away from game is similar to the mindset of people who believe unquestionably in god. I'm not surprised that the emergence of Game coincides with the emergence of the Atheist movement. The internet allows for the death of small-town restrictions on the mind.

One thing that we and the feminists have in common: we are all looking to expand our sense of power/security/integrity as individuals (well, since women are more group oriented, they probably want more power for the group, but at core of it is a sense of power/security/integrity for the self). The problem is that most women have a built-in subconscious desire to succumb to a greater power on a personal/sexual level, and this is starkly contrasted to their public life. That's why women are taking all these drugs. There is a huge cognitive dissonance taking place. In the past, when men the dominant force both publicly and privately, their was no schism. A lot of game is about turning off a woman's public side, and turning on her private side (private parts that is) Wink

In one sense I think the feminists might be right that in the public sphere the role of gender has less importance than it once it did. I believe this is enabled by technology that makes a man's physical strength not as important in the workplace.

But, and I'm not even talking about things like having women in combat on the front lines, there are also a lot of public skills (like leadership) that men had to are more easily capable of enacting because we've evolved as a the what the last president called "deciders". In the past, even beta males who were followers in public were deciders in the privacy of their homes.
