Here's what's frustrating: I'm making the case that the number of past partners is NOT something that disqualifies a woman from ltr material. See, this ALPHA dude thing is missing a few things:

1.) There is always someone better (read: more alpha) than you. There isn't some threshold at which you're good enough so she won't try for better if it comes her way

2.) Being in a relationship for a long time makes in hard to be exciting, mysterious, all these things around someone you're really familiar with. This is an advantage interlopers have over you. Whether you could kick the shit out of them or not, they're new and mysterious.

3.) You know what keeps a guys confidence up? Banging other women. But if you do that, then you're not in a relationship in the sense you're defining one (since you talk about cheating exlcusivity seems to be part of your definition). So being that confident guy in a relationship is a bit of a paradox.

I think what's hard for people to accept is the raw scientific nature of the male-female dynamic. They try to twist it into something grand. "Something Special", "mean something", a relationship. It's not. The male-female interaction is based on what the female can obtain from the main in terms of genes for the children and/or provisioning (see Briffault's law I believe). Once you understand the science behind it, as shitty as it may be at first, the better off you'll be in the long run.

Also, I've seen where a guy has dated a girl for the better part of a decade, was cool the whole time, and then flipped the switch once married. You'd think that she would've shown signs during the dating, and maybe she did and my buddy didn't pick up on it, but she was able to stay cool the whole time until after the honeymoon. So while a chick may seem cool during the pursuit of committment, it doesn't mean it'll last into the committment.
