Perfect Human Diet
Pretty good documentary I watched last night on i-tunes. For those of us that have read the Paleo diet and are trying to abide by it, this will come as no surprise. But if you don't feel like reading a book and want to get up to speed in 90 minutes, I highly recommend the documentary below. Pretty sad that our recommended food pyramid is horrendous for your body.

i recommend eating paleo for a month. (i include dairy and distilled spirits) then come to your own conclusions. i found its easy to be in shape, be full of energy and in most regards feel as good as you have ever felt with that diet. also its not as hard to follow as you would believe, although it is probably a little more expensive. at the very least try and stick with a low carb/low sugar(except for whole fruit) approach to your diet and you will see and feel great results.

There is no perfect diet for everyone - the only way to know for sure what nutrients your body needs is to get blood tests and then take the relevant vitamins. As far as diet I follow the Dr. Fuhrman diet. He says you must eat these things each day:

-One serving of steamed vegetables
-One large salad
-Berries
-Chia Seeds (such as flax seed)
-Mushrooms
-Onions

This diet works great for me. I also eat lots of trailmix to supplement. For vegetables I usually steam kale and mix this with tuna.

RE: Perfect Human Diet
Paleo diet works great for me, but I kinda modified it to my own lifestyle. I added raw milk and olive oil to the mix, this allows me to gain lean mass and stay lean all year round. Replaced white potatoes with cassava root and sweet potatoes and totally cut out rice and wheat (although i'll have one cheat day per week. Cutting out the wheat makes a whole lot of difference to the way you feel.

Condensed version (my version)
1) Eat meats and sea food
2) Eat fats from olive oil, nuts and animal sources
3)get your carbs from fibrous greens, vegetables, fruits and tubers
4) add in raw dairy products if your lifting weights or doing sports.

Basically, if a cave man could hunt it or grab it from nature (before the advent of farming) then it's all fair game.

Furman influenced me heavily during 2012. I follow his nutrition regiment, although I have recently started to eat a lot more meat. But I am gluten and dairy free. Still eat eggs though in the morning a few days a week.
