I've been caught with weed before, but it supposedly wasn't enough to affect any military applications I might want to submit

In my previous post, I said to try for the Air Force. But that's only a recommendation if you're determined to join the military.

However, I don't recommend joining any military service. It's a sham and a waste of life.

This. Though I did have a recruiter claim I could ship with a pending traffic ticket tard

They will lie about pretty much everything else though and even coerce you into lying about things like medical history to save themselves paperwork. If they don't know the answer to something, they will just make one up. I am not exaggerating when I tell you these guys are scumbags.

My advice is to research the jobs you would be interested in, the path to get them, the perks, etc. and go into the office knowing what job you want and what you would be willing to settle for (if anything). Don't let them bullshit you into some job you don't want. Fact check anything they say through the internet and don't make any on-the-spot decisions you are unsure of.

I would tell me to go to OCS if they want to be in the military.
Officer Candidate School.
Youll need a college degree of course.
But they pay is better.
Lots of job options

Well, I talked to recruiter the other day. I took a practice test and scored in the high 70's with no studying at all. I think a 50 is required to get in. I thought some of my tattoos would be a problem but I tried on the jacket and he said they're fine. Actually, I seen a female recruiter with tattoos near her hand. He didn't say yes or no to my record but I need to bring him a copy of everything showing that it's taken care of. I don't know why they can't just do a background check on me themselves and decide that way. He said felonies are a no no but you should be ok as long as it's nothing recent and you're not getting arrested over and over.

I was in the AF 6 years. Pretty damn easy and pretty close to a normal life. Badass TDYs to places like Lithuania, Bulgaria, Sweden, Las Vegas, all for a month or 2 at a time . Also, stationed in the UK for 3 years. Really lucked out with an incredible job that pays great on the outside.

I could provide u with quite a bit of info about the AF if you have any questions. Like I said, I was in 6 years and in that time I was stationed on 3 different bases and had 5 TDYs/deployments. I spent significant time on 6 different types of aircraft

What military branch are you trying to get into?

The one thing that having a record will do is prevent you from getting a very high security clearance. So you might need to think about that.

TP - Navy. I know. I'm pretty much fucked with government type jobs because of a record. Insane how you can't get in there unless you're a goody two shoes. I don't even have anything serious on my record. We'll see what the military say next week. Can't get I civilian jobs branching off from the military that aren't government related?? I don't think I plan to make a full career out of the military if I'm accepted.

The best bet for getting a non-government type job after you leave the Navy is to gain useful skills that can transfer over into civilian life: welding, electrical/mechanical knowledge, IT/computer skills, etc.

Also, you can use the GI Bill to pay for college/training after you leave, so there is always that if you need additional skills/certs/creds to build on what you leaned in the Navy.

I just left the Australian navy with an electronics trade and walked into a job paying AUD$250k-300k/year. For reference, I'm 23yo with only 6 years experience. A bit of it was luck, however my navy background and training was the main reason I was chosen

Aced all the practice ASVABs, so damn easy. I'd never join the military though, purely because I don't want to shave with a shitty razor.

That's offshore oil/gas rig money... that what you got?

Even FIFO.. you could only get than on something like an 8/1 roster with rare skills.

I plan to join the Army Reserve here in AUS:

I also want to do 12 months in the Italian Army, tipo ex-mandatory military service, " because i can" and want to stick it right up somebody [as u do]

NO interest to do either as a full time gig.
