Well since women are completely insane, I have now used this line successfully on PoF for nearly every "attribute" people can use to describe themselves. You know what they say about "artsy/bookish/night owls/hippies/etc." My response rate has gone through the roof, six favorable responses out of ten messages sent compared to last time I used PoF and got 2 good responses from 20 messages.

Question for the tinder pros. How do you spot a bot? I just got matched with two girls. Both of them around the same time, both of them hit me up first, which is rare. One opened with "HEEEY," the other one opened with "YOOO!" -- Pics look legit, but I don't want to start getting into a conversation with a girl and then out of nowhere she tries to link me to her "cam."

My friend got matched with a bot once but it was so obvious. The girl's profile had professional, Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue type of pics, and her second message was "i'm horny, come see me!"

These profiles look legit, but I find the timing odd. Literally both of them hit me up within minutes of each other, both used all caps. I don't know.

I've found a few bots, but they had text on their photos talking about cams and porn sites and money and all sorts of shit.

Are there any legit looking bots that have taken you guys for a ride?

Aside from that, after a week or so of using the app, I've come to the conclusion that this app is unbelievably buggy. I lost count how many times I've deleted the app, along with my account, reinstall, force close, reopen, etc etc. But when it works, it works. Just wish it worked more often.

Well, for me, I didn't have a Facebook to start off with. I made one specifically for Tinder. So I had zero friends. Which worked for two days, I was getting endless profiles. I couldn't sift through them fast enough and I was swiping like a mad man trying to play the numbers game.

Then out of nowhere I got "no one new in your area." I installed and uninstalled several times, deleted and recreated an account, nothing worked. I actually emailed their tech support about it. They said they'd look into it.

I heard that you need at least 50 friends for it to work (such a stupid, stupid fucking thing) so I started adding a few real life friends. Low and behold, the app started showing me profiles again.

But, no, I have no mutual friends with these girls. I did have 2 shared interests with one though.

The other girl, I just went back to look at my matches and she's gone. So she either blocked me after I responded to her heeey, or she deleted her account. Either way, probably not a bot.

Waiting on the second girl. Hope she's legit. From what I can tell, she's actually my type.

And if she is in fact real and hit me up first, I just have to run don't fuck it up game.

Am currently chatting with several japanese girls. So far Tinder has only been good for helping me with my japanese, nothing else. No easy lays or anything.

I was chatting with a 31 y/o chubby American girl in Yokohama. On her profile it said she's looking for fun. She didn't like my sense of humour and told me to "eat a dick" lol

Ain't it funny how the bots are on there but it's hard to make an alt with no friends get matches :/

That's what pisses me the fuck off. These bots somehow get matched with us and have no issues, but make a Facebook as a regular person with no friends? You don't get matched for shit.

Mini update: Chick has been inactive for 13 hours. Most likely human, as I would assume the bots would be active nonstop, and reply to messages pretty quickly.

I've had Tinder installed for a week now. I don't use Facebook. I set up a profile with a fake name and I think I have received over 75 matches with mostly 7s and a few 8s. At first, I only swiped hot girls. Got matches then too. But then I swiped everyone rapidly until I ran out of people and woke up to tons of matches from good prospects. You can either block the ones that have no chance with you or you can just ignore. No reason to block though since that would indicate you care. I did this twice last week. I am floored by how many hot chicks I'm seeing in DC area. Can't be real.

The learning curve is okay I guess. I have read this thread, some reddit ones and many pages of the ones over at bodybuilding.com to get a feel for the text game on tinder. I get maybe 85 percent response rates on openers. I have received only two phone numbers, one drink offering by one girl and zero meetups. I was texting with two so far. Many girls disappear when I ask for number and some just want to keep talking endlessly for attention. I'll probably keep messing with it because this is way more fun than match or okc. I have never received this much attention in my life (from hot girls - if they are even real) and it is hard to even stay focused at work now with the number of messages flooding my phone. I imagine a good-looking female must keep that shit at bay all day to get anything done.

I have one sexy pic with female face chopped off, me in a suit, some random pic and another fun pic with another female with large breasts. I've asked my photographer friend from back home to come up and take some fun pro shots to see if I can up the ante on this thing. This thing is addictive.

Tinder is the tits. You need to get your pictures straight and maybe have a really short but intriguing "About"; when you get that locked for the market(s) you're in, the thing is amazing.

I've met PhDs, professional ballerinas, Au pairs, strippers, students, lawyers, etc. It's becoming increasingly common and less surrounded by stigma to use it, too. I have various friends in committed relationships who met their girl/guy on the thing.

It's a great way to cast a wider net, kill time when you're in lines or in transit, and the quality is far better than official dating sites.

People saying it sucks are either ugly, technology averse, or have poor texting skills.

I can't vouch for anybody else, but yes, I see my uploaded pictures. It should show you your profile picture as well as your other pics. Potentially log out and view again.

That's the problem with tinder now tho it's not suppose to be a relationship app. It's not as good as it once was but still good for what it is.

Deleted all my matches, doesn't view them. Seems like a database problem.

I've got 3 bangs off of 4 meetups just from tinder in the last 2 months, had 2 back in February. I'm actually matching or exceeding my real life success on this damned thing. I deleted my entire profile for about a month because I was finally moving into my own place. Turned it back on, and had a few better pictures (one is a very, very professionally done picture of me dressed to the nines - huge DHV). I also removed all text from my profile, and cut my pics down to 3 .

Suddenly, my match rate is super high. All 7+. It's insane. And the response rate is way up, since I started going very direct. I figured I had little to lose and since I had my own place, I could just message something like "wine and netflix - my place", and if they don't like it, oh well. The more direct I am, the better responses I've gotten (I've not gone as direct as "let's fuck", it's not really my style). I'm also matching much younger girls now (18, 19, 20). I'm worried I'll start getting lazy in real life.

tl;dr - cut down your number of pictures, ditch the profile text, and get a really solid shot as your first picture. A good DHV setup will help you tremendously. If you haven't had much luck going indirect, try direct (and vice-versa). This thing can work.

And FYI - if you have regularly received matches and suddenly don't, I think it's either a botched algorithm or a bug in the app. Delete the app and delete it from your facebook apps, wait a little while, then try again. All your matches will clear, but you will start completely fresh.

It's pretty funny how a decent amount of chicks on Tinder (and on OKC) take that "You look like trouble" line seriously. If they say they're not (in a seriously structured way), the chance of bang goes down significantly, I feel. The girls who flaunt their sobriety and "good girl" personality receive a, "So you're not a fun person?" from me.

In contrast, many women show they like you by claiming the opposite of what you say. But it's obvious when somebody takes that "You look like trouble" mention overly seriously. Any good responses to a girl that's not digging that particular line.

I decided to jump back in and try one Tinder and one OKCupid again. First Tinder girl notched on "date" 2. OKCupid girl, although hot, was a total waste of time. Just like I remember OKCupid to be. I've never tried direct on there. Might give it a whirl. With "wine and netflix - my place," does it usually happen the same night you match?

My experiment in changing my age seems to have backfired. I got way more matches at my real age (late 20's) than my "new" age of 21. Could be something to do with me being in a suit for many of my pictures...

Same here. Translated the line into my native language though. They always bite. My profile pic is me smirking on a fishing trip with a fish in my hands and profile text saying "i have a big fish". They mention the fish all the time and i get "mister big fishman" all the time. Obviously it suggests that i have a big dick.

Anyone notice a drop in quality lately? Seem to be matching with mostly <6s and the occasional 7.

One of my biggest turn-offs when it comes to meeting women on Tinder is logistics. Smoking girl, lives over an hour way with her parents. SOB.
