Okay this is a simple thread and concept that anyone can apply in their day to day lives. It's something that many of you are probably already doing, it takes practically no real effort, spreads good vibes, and can pay off little by little over the course of time.

Befriend your local coffee shop, deli, cafe, restaurant, video store, etc. workers, basically anyone who works in the service industry. I am a guy who admittedly is a bit of a creature of habit, I have a bunch of daily routines, and I tend to eat out a lot and hit up the same spots on a continual rotating basis. I also live in a small town which helps, but point being is that I see a lot of the same people who work at the local shops that I frequent.

I always try to be friendly and shoot the shit with the people who work at these spots. Overtime they come to get to know me and I get to know them, by making small talk, being friendly, polite, occasionally asking questions about how the people are doing, and dropping the occasional compliment, etc. I get on their good sides.

What's the point of all this you may be wondering? Overtime these people start to hook me up! It's just little things that you may think, oh that's no big deal, I'm in a rush, I don't want to waste my time talking to some guy at a deli counter or whatever... But, these little things that you get hooked up with, overtime accumulate and when it's hook ups across the board, after a while, maybe the course of a year(s), it adds up.

Some examples of things I get hooked up with on a somewhat frequent basis, are free coffee at my favorite breakfast spot, free beer at my local bar, discounted top-shelf mixed liquor drinks, free guacamole at my favorite Mexican joint, no late fees on overdue dvds at my regular video rental shop.

Probably the best ongoing hookup I got was at my favorite local natural foods grocery store, where they have an amazing deli, with a bunch of good premade food to choose from. Since I'm a lazy fuck and don't cook for myself, I usually buy 3-4 meals worth of food to eat over the week from the deli there.

I have befriended a chill stoner dude who works in the deli there, and he gives me litterally 50% off the regular price of the food when he weighs it up and tags the price on the items. Once every few weeks I roll in and when no one is looking, I kick him about .5-1 gram of chronic, which barely costs me a thing. When he gives me the 50% off homie discount, I literally walk out of there saving $5-15 dollars on the food. Unfortunately, he recently got moved to a different dept in the store, so the hook up as run dry, but I had that going over the course of at least 6 months and save beaucoup dollars.

So the point is, if you frequent certain spots like me, cafes, restaurants, etc., befriend the guys working there. It doesn't take much to smile, be friendly, ask them how it's going, etc. Overtime you might strike up a bit of a friendship, and since they typically are working for minimum wage they will have no problem hooking you up every now and then, as long as there manager isn't there and they can get away with it.

Bonus points if you tip them well or kick them down occasionally. In fact, tip them well to start as you are getting to know them, they will take notice and will most likely start hooking you up too. The principle of I'll scratch your back, you scratch mine is strong. And let's face it guys, whether it's only a small hook up or a bigger one, everyone loves getting a discount, and everyone loves getting something for free!

Great advice.

I'm also a creature of habit and have gotten to know the people running the shops I frequent on a day-to-day basis.

The lady at the convenience store knows what I smoke, so if there's a carton of cigarettes in the back 75 cents off per pack, guess who gets to roll in and buy that whole carton?

I used to drink at a particular bar, now closed, where I got to be great friends with the owners. Always got comp'd drinks, they'd point girls in my direction, and I could always crash on their couch instead of going home. Because they lived two houses from the bar, we'd usually close up the bar and continue partying at the bar owners' residence.

I'm also on a first name basis with a few local restaurant owners. I get a few dollars discounted from every meal. At one local deli, the fellas running the place know me well, and give me steep discounts. If I'm purchasing $20.00 worth of stuff, they'll kick my bill down to $10.00, then I'll give 'em $5.00 for the favor. I still make out $5.00 ahead.

One more, I know the owners of a few local men's clothing shops. Usually they'll sell stuff to me for a few bucks over cost, so I get $150.00 shirts for $60.00, they still make a few bucks, and everybody's happy.

I would pull this move more if I lived in a mid-size or smaller city, but If I'm not buying what I need online, I like to hit up new restaurants/stores everytime. Also, hate small talk.

Def good idea tho.

One search term in particular to use when going back through the manifesto: greasing.

edit: I was thinking about how this is now an incredibly appropriate time to have started this thread, as we're still in the holiday season. I even started to type a few things out, including how I hooked up my barber right before Christmas (I like to think this like this help me skip the line with no reservation. No biggie, but hey when time is tight) but then I put my own suggested search term to use and found some way pre-RVF wordage about it.

I have a lot of hook ups where I live. But possibly my favorite one is knowing a supervisor at the DMV. I walk in, and 5 minutes later I'm sitting in front of someone getting my stuff done.

2nd place is knowing the GM at Texas De Brazil. No matter how many people go with me we always get 50% off. I just make sure I tip as if it was 100%.

I don't get in trouble any more but when I did, knowing a few cops has saved my ass more than once. Most favors I called in were for friends who I got caught doing stupid shit with, usually drunk. My buddy got pulled over driving my car down the sidewalk at 4am on a weeknight. I was passed out in the passenger seat, woke up by one cop while my buddy is stumbling around trying to say the alphabet then tells the other cop there's no way he can walk a straight line. I produce a card, the cops drive my car to the nearest lot, give me the keys, bitch us both out and let us go. We were only a block away from my apartment. Two days later I paid them back with six cases of beer.

If you can befriend a cop you'll get the inside scoop on a lot of stories and hear some wild shit plus have a sympathetic ear and possible help if you get in trouble but if you make it a habit they'll fuck you over.

Excellent post! I also want to add that something I was advised to be careful of is “Crossing Wires”. That means that it’s bad idea to take various girls to the same coffee house/restaurant. They may look for you there if they can’t find you and they may start going there of their own volition. This isn’t as big of a deal with chain restaurants, but even then it should be in the back of your mind. I live in a city with a nearly endless supply of mom and pop restaurants and they are great places to discover with new girls.
