Ive been thinking of integrating some magic tricks into my game. should work for both day and night game. Doing magic tricks is not about being the clown of the club. Women love magic, and it fits our player profile. Kino is of course fully part of doing magic.

Any thoughts, experiences with magic?

I don't know about cards and such, but I met a chick @ some hipster spot, and did the ESP/Guess a # bit, and not only got the ONS, but first night anal. (of course the lay was kinda blah and the anal was essentially a no go - but it counts!)

So, yeah, I'm a fan of small bits of mentalism thrown in. The more "spiritual" a chick is, the better you can roll.

With 2012 eyes, it seems like for Mys, it gave him a reason to talk to a broad, not so much that the magic pulled the chicks in.

Yeah, I have a good background (friends who headline in Vegas and have T.V. specials). I remember a funny photo of a young magician captioned "I will never feel the touch of a woman."

Avoid being the dancing monkey. Here is one tip. You can perform stuff for your wingman within view of a woman. This will pique her interest, and then you can approach, or your wingman can say "Wow, can you believe this guy?"

You probably want to focus on chick crack mentalism stuff. The presentation is critical. See Dynamo's card switch with the girl biting the card. It has a sexy suggestion of a kiss while the girl is being compliant.

Be aware that some of the stuff you see on T.V. specials involves stooges, expensive hidden equipment, special conditions, multiple takes, etc. The star himself could not replicate most of the illusions under real life conditions.

You could duplicate the hidden coin trick and pull a condom out from behind her ear.
I'd save that one for when you're ready to go for broke.

One of my buddies is a magician and I've seen him integrate magic into his game. If you know your shit it truly does work wonders. He has a trick where he turns 5 one dollar bills into 5 hundred dollar bills right before their eyes and the girls eyes go aflame. And they're like "OMG, how do you do that?!?" It also subtly communicates that you've got some scratch without seeming like you're boasting.

Basically it sells magic tricks that pros design. I've bought some and it's easy to use, just need to practice a little bit.

Also you can watch on youtube all the videos of "Scam School", these are easy tricks to perform in a Bar.

Found this podcast a few years ago called scam school. They show a bunch of easy tricks anyone can perform. Done the "learn how to eat balls of fire" before pretty easy trick that involves just a cotton ball. They have lots of cool party tricks with instruction.

Haven't used magic to run game extensively (I should), but I carry around a pack of cards and a sharpie. It's a great conversation prop when I mess around with some shuffles and card springs.

I let audiences sign a card with the sharpie, then run the Ambitious Card trick:




Other tricks in my repertoire are the Biddle trick, the Temperature Trick, Acrobatic Aces, and the Gypsy Pickpocketer tick.

Kids love it. Hospital patients love it. It's nice to perform and wield attention.

I took up card magic initially so I wouldn't be stuck explaining the rules of blackjack and gin rummy to hospital patients I see. Card magic can be a bit of a one-off deal.

If card magic is your main schtick, then oh yeah I agree: nerd alert. That's like a high schooler sperging out over doing a magic sing-and-dance for the prom queen and getting to finally(!) take a hoverhand picture with her.

But the next step is to incorporate this into my game and see how that goes...I like performing for people anyways!

I see

The one way I could see it possibly working is in a group setting where someone else "happens" to have a set of cards and you do one or two tricks, blow their minds and then hand the cards back like it was no big deal. The attention and "this guy is full of surprises" factor could work for you.

You could pull this off and look cool consistently if you have a wingman willing to take the "nerd" bullet for you.

Slight digression, but card tricks and slight of hand is fucking awesome. I went through a short phase a little over a year ago of wanting to learn it but quickly decided(realized) I do not have a knack for or not the patience to get the hang of it. It's a tremendously difficult skill to acquire but very impressive in the end - though relatively useless unless you are good enough to make a living off of it.

It can be very impressive from a game standpoint too, but as PT said it would be best used when there is already a deck of cards laying around. If you carry a deck with you it certainly looks nerdy, but just picking up a deck thats around to show off some random ass mysterious talent you have is impressive.

I get what you guys are saying-you don't want to appear too tryhard. Like you just brought along this deck of cards so you could impress someone.

You're forcibly imposing the narcissistic frame of "look at me I'm a magician" onto the conversation. Often when I talk to patients who have nothing better to do than wait and watch TV, they don't mind my saying, "Check this out" and pulling out a deck of cards to perform magic.

Perhaps hosting a house party with a deck of cards on the table, or casually practicing card shuffles/cuts on the train so that were one were to open or one were opened, the cards are on the table for card magic. That can be up to the girl to ask about cards, or one could daygame ramble about performing/mesmerizing an audience with magic/sleight of hand and the feelings it evokes.

For the record...I do recognize the level of effort, commitment and skill required to do these tricks well. It's incredibly difficult and I don't mean to disparage it or anyone who does it.

That said it's also incredibly difficult to effortlessly finish drywall for example but I see only very few specific situations where that might get you laid.

Demonstrating competency in ANYTHING can jump start a chicks attraction wiring. Especially if done in a social setting where by association the attention you garner is causing/ creating social proof of your value.

Example. I'm a native Spanish speaker. In high school I took Spanish for 4 years. I did it because #1 I wanted to learn to read and write it, #2 because I knew it was an easy way to pad my GPA. What I didn't know but realize in hindsight was that because of my natural fluency: in that class I was a "star". I ended up with two girlfriends from Spanish class. Only years later did I really understand the dynamics involved.
