I wonder if pimps learn an addiction to a thrill of Machiavellian control. I've cultivated a taste for puppeting girls into being my love slaves, and can imagine that pimp game is basically the same thing, only with a different focus of desired behavior.

Why not both?
I am in game (although not too actively) but I'm not above paying a girl to bust a nut every now and then.
It is complete bullshit that this messes up your mojo or brings bad karma or whatever. Just look at it as a form of good old cheap fun (pretty affordable where I live).
As for her liking you - some of them pretend they like you pretty convincingly...
Like at a restaurant where the waitress is really polite, smiles, asks you questions, and cares whether you are enjoying the food and the experience - do you think she fucking cares or is just working for her tip? But you still choose to frequent restaurants with good customer service, right? And have you ever said "I won't go this restaurant again because they don't care for me as a person but just want my money"

At least for call-girl types, it's called "The Girlfriend Experience." For however long you're together, she makes it feel like a relationship, giving you all the attention that a girlfriend would. Yes, it's business. It's so you'll call and ask for her again, and maybe you do develop a pseudo-relationship. Lots of hookers talk about having to listen to guy's problems as part of the job also, pretending to give a fuck...HA HA!

A gigolo is very different then a pimp.

A gigolo has sex with women for money. A pimp receives money from women who have had sex with other men. Very different dynamics and psychology involved. Related but still very different.
