Where to go in SF with my bros?
My two brothers and I are rolling down to the Raiders game this weekend and will be staying in SF for a couple days. Kind of a "bro-union." Any tips on good pubs to hit up? Areas we should stick to?

My brothers aren't the smoothest cats in the world - nothing too swanky for these guys. Good Irish pubs, dive bars, and sports bars are more their style than a hopping club.

That said, I'm the single one, so spots with at least some talent would be nice too.

Any suggestions?

RE: Where to go in SF with my bros?
I hear Polk St. is one of the best spots in the city on the weekend, with a lot of bars within walking distance of each other, also supposed to be one of the better spot talent wise. That said, I've never been down there myself, so I'm mostly going off what I've heard from friends who live down there, hopefully WestCoast or another member can chime in on that.

I'd say the spot with the best talent I've seen has to be the Marina and North Beach areas. I would skip North Beach except for maybe dinner, it seems like the Marina is more of a young white rich crowd, the women are some of the hottest in the city, but I think they may have more of a bitchy, stuck up vibe there. Matrix on Fillmore was mostly where I was at, and it seems to be the best spot.

Most of the time I've spent has been in the Mission, I'm tempted to recommend you check it out, but I'm not sure if you'll love it or hate it there. It's definitely a hipster neighborhood, but it's also probably one of the most chill, alternative, and popular neighborhoods in the city. The bars have a less pretentious feel, but can be hit or miss talent wise. It might be worth checking out for a while and bouncing if it sucks. There's a bunch of bars right by the 16th St. BART, Delirium, Double Dutch, Elbo Room, and the Skylark, (my favorite of those would be Elbo Room and Skylark), but they're all close enough to bounce to and no cover charge.

Hope this helps a little, have fun down there bro.

Thanks for the input. Was going to hit you up - you cancel your trip? Thought you were going down that way this weekend?

I'm not heading down till Wednesday and then I'm flying back east early Thursday on an 8 AM flight, so I'm probably just going to keep it mellow that night. It's too bad you're not going to be down there when I get back in town a week later, because I'm going to stay downtown in SF and for sure go out that night.

Hit me up when you're coming back through. Never know what I'm doing and I'm still trying to get my relocation rolling. Smile It'll most likely start with some more time down there before I cruise.

For sure man, SF is a cool city, I'm sure you know that, but I can see you loving it down there. Don't know what your bankroll is looking like, but I can recommend some good eats (including Thai spots Wink) down there, so let me know if you're interested and I can PM them or post here.

I'll be getting back on Thursday the 27th I believe and staying right off Market St. at the Parc 55, will be planning on getting a few drinks that night, so I'll definitely hit you up on the chance that you're around.

Oh yeah sorry for flaking out on you bro a few weeks back, that night was storming like a motherfucker and I didn't feel like driving and parking in that shit.

One last recommendation on SF... If it's a nice sunny day down there, and you got some free time during the day I'd check out Delores Park in the Mission, it's pretty much a party down there on the weekend, with lot's of cute girls chilling, people drinking beer, etc.

Definitely drop some info on good Thai spots! I'm having a craving...

Mayes on Polk or Kell's in North Beach....Less social posturing than places like Matrix in the Marina and yet still solid quality, mostly white girls that are decently attractive.

Both have dance floors, so a little booty grinding along with a couple shots and you're golden.....your competition will consist of tech nerds who just stare by the wall and never approach.

i likes mayes in polk, kells is a dive bar( irish dive bar), another good free one is bubble lounge(lots of pretentious late 20s mid 30s crowd dirinking bubble). union has lots of good bars/clubs that has easy foot traffic.

My favorite Thai spot in the city is Osha Thai, they have a few different locations, my favorite being in the Mission and Tenderloin. There food is a bit more "upscale" and a little bit more expensive than what you'd find at most Thai spots, that said they use real quality ingredients and the food is bomb. http://www.oshathai.com/

My other favorite Thai spot in the city, also has very good food, it's a bit cheaper and more of a no frills spot in the Tenderloin. It's called Lers Ros http://www.lersros.com/

For other Asian spots, this Vietnamese place called Tin is really good
http://www.tinsf.com/

Also a dank Indonesian Restaurant that's got a really good set menu with 5 courses that they bring to your table and you share family style. The place is called http://www.borobudursf.com/

Damn, man.... Now I'm thinking about all this bomb food and wish I was going down there with you!! LOL.

Also, for the best burrito I swear I've had in my life, hit Papalote in the Mission. http://www.papalote-sf.com/

For the best breakfast I've ever had in my life hit Mission Beach Cafe, forum member Hencredible Cassanova I also believe reps this spot. The guys who own/run it are flamming gay, so not really a good place to take a homophobe, but the guys know what they are doing with food.

I had luck at Tipsy Pig in the Marina. Same night I met: aggressive girls, girls that just broke up with their boyfriends, students that lunged at me to make out, girls that didn't mind me fingering them there, girls that were there alone, etc. The only negative was it's on the pricier end for drinks and it's very white dominated in case you like latinas/asians, etc.

RE: Where to go in SF with my bros?
I'll end this thread.

Monday- matrix
Tuesday -blue light/bar none
Wednesday - starlight room/bar none
Thursday - infusion lounge
Friday - cocomos(salsa) or Kells
Saturday - DNA lounge, Matrix, make out room (salsa), ruby Skye, tipsy pig
Sunday - second Sunday mission rock in summer, circa at noon for brunch

I apologize to one forum member, slubu as we never really did any night game, rest of guys who have met me off this forum or have gone out w/ at night will receive a blueprint of the best spots, exactly what to say at what time and where to stand.

Good luck. You can PM me your look and I'll help out, I lean towards salsa venues and the marina

@ fisto I have been trying to tell Gio to roll with me at night once, still haven't convinced him I am texting him right now! Then again the day game prospects with Gio have worked out extremely well so far.
