Hey guys, any ideas on where to go for New Year's Eve this year in Toronto? I'll be visiting family for a couple of weeks over the holidays. As luck would have it, a friend of mine will be visiting his at the same time so we're looking for a place to go out to have fun and pick up.

We're both in our early 40s. I don't know how things are these days in Toronto but the last time I lived there 20 years ago, a guy in his 40s going for a 21-yr-old would usually get laughed out of the bar. The age gap was an automatic disqualifier iirc. Has this changed? If that's still how it is, I suppose a place with a high concentration of 25 to 35-yr-old women would be good. Older than that and I think I'd rather stay home watching TV. Maybe a lounge-type place?

I like clubbing too but it's hard for me to pickup in loud environments where I can't talk. Ideally, club or not, we'd be looking for a place that is lively but also has places where you can talk and chill. On the other hand, not something stuffy or pretentious either. And of course, packed with horny ladies.

Any suggestions?
