To answer the OP's question: I suspect very few men use prostitutes regularly ...10-15% maybe? I suspect a much higher number (65-75%?) have done so at least once. I use it the way I use protein powder in my diet: To supplement my normal intake. On occasion, I may be consumed with work and too busy to chase tail. The occasional pay-for-play can be useful at those times. And i'll sometimes "supersize" my happy meal by upgrading to a high-end pornstar to whom I've been spanking the monkey for years! I think married guys are definitely over-represented when it comes to all aspects of P4P, but they obviously have a motivation to keep it secret, so other people don't realize how common it is for married dudes to be paying.

I was talking to a guy who owned some escort websites a few months back. He was basically telling me that just about all of the clients using his site were married guys who told their wives on a Monday or Tuesday night that they were working late or going to a happy hour with their co-workers or whatever bullshit seems believable. I guess they always avoid the weekends so it doesn't seem as obvious. The vast majority of guys who are banging whores are probably guys in sexless marriages. That also explains why so many of them have huge concerns about privacy and not giving out real phone numbers, emails, names, etc., whereas single guys really don't have anything to lose if someone they know finds out.

I think most people don't realize how common it is due to lots of married guys that will do anything to keep their activities secret, but a simple Google search of something P4P related such as escorts or massage parlors will show tons of sites and forums, even in places where it's technically illegal.

This is the word that gets passed around from prostitute to prostitute. I'm sure it's not 100 percent true, and they'd prefer a well-spoken black men to a crazed redneck if given that choice. But it's true enough that a stereotype evolved and that's going to be hard to undo (I'm Italian-American and deal with stereotypes of my own, so I'm not a stranger to this).

McNeil, by the way, is a pretty interesting blogger who writes (and speaks) eloquently about men's issues and was calling human trafficking hysteria bullshit long before the mainstream media.

You know, it used to be fascinating to me. Now it's just another fact. That's part of the red pill. You recognize women for who they are. Every woman has her price. The thing is, it's usually lower than you'd guess. That whole "Indecent Proposal" flick had it all wrong. You want to know one thing that started to wake me up? I went to a rub & tug place about 18 years ago and the FOB massage girl couldn't understand why I didn't have a girlfriend. From her perspective I was what she dreamed of: white, young, had a good salary. I mumbled something about being busy with work. But that was the beginning of a long awakening to the reality of the sexual marketplace.

I think up until the 60s, in the USA it was much more acceptable to p2p. Especially in the Western USA, every town has its famous stories of brothels. I'm sure that the rise of Feminism had a lot to do with the social unacceptability in the USA. But I mean that from both sides: women are anti-prostitution for their reasons, but for men in the USA, going to a prostitute amounts to getting jobbed. It's an admission of defeat in your personal battle of the sexes. And honestly, having been in that and been around the escort websites, most of the guys have very beta attitudes.

I'm not going to look down on a guy for p2p but this isn't really the place for it. All those escort chat & review boards are out there for that crowd. There's a lot of gross overly worshipful nonsense and literal Captain Save-A-Ho behavior.
