RE: Friends are settling down - This is getting depressing!
I'm in my late 30's.

throughout my late 20's to early 30's, all of my boys ended up in
- in long terms
- in marriages
- corporate jobs
- mortgages
- kids..

Now that I'm in my late 30's, some of them are now starting to get divorced.

As a fact, most of these couples will be :

1. sexless or relatively so after 3 years or so - especially for the man.
2. the man will be betaized - and really a guest in his own home.
3. his entire productive capacity will be owned by the wife and children for the next 2-4 decades - minimum.

while they may not get divorced, its a fact that the man will be living a life of quiet desperation as Thoreau once said (ot is it Emerson ?).

don't sweat everyone getting married.....

Bingo. A good friend of mine's once said.."you can't want something for someone else." Be supportive of others yet stay only slightly involved, bc you have to focus the majority of your own energy on what's best for you and factors that you can control.

you have just described 90% of men who get married.

and of that 90%, 95% end up extremely disappointed after a year or three - when the pussy dries up.

Why post with such a confrontational attitude, man? All speakeasy was saying is that we should respect our friends' lifestyles (even if their lifestyle plan includes marriage), and that same respect should be returned.

Maybe I didn't say that right. I'm agreeing with speakeasy that we should try to be encouraging with our friends in going after what they want. Didn't mean to be critical at all, the opposite.

My comments were not directed at you, iknowexactly. I was quoting deepcov3r's reply to speakeasy.

I don't care if my friend settles down with a woman, I often am happy for him.

However, I do care if my friend picks a woman who has a shitty personality - then I will let my voice be heard.

Friends don't let friends marry bitches.

RE: Friends are settling down - This is getting depressing!
Lord Byron, playboy and poet, wrote this at 29:

Quote:SO WE'LL GO NO MORE A-ROVING.

So we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart be still as loving,
And the moon be still as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
And the soul wears out the breast,
And the heart must pause to breathe,
And Love itself have rest.

Though the night was made for loving,
And the day returns too soon,
Yet we'll go no more a-roving
By the light of the moon.

Age always conquers youth. Thankfully, none of my good friends have reached this stage yet, but when it happens ...

Hahahaha

Spoken like a man who has seen this happen multiple times already, awesome. Bluntness on this forum is hilarious.

I'm watching it happen to my best friend right in front of my eyes. Second kid with a girl who does not work, so he supports them all 100%. Renting a newer, more expensive house because she wants it. Buying brand new furniture today, because she wants it. Sushi dinners 1-2x a week, that he has to pay 100% of. Talk of buying her a Mercedes, even though she doesn't drive because she has some mysterious illness that prevents her from driving, or god forbid, working. She tries to use us (his friends) as pawns in her head games to drive us all apart. Has called the cops on him. Threatened to never let him see his daughter again. Extorts money from him. Fuck, I could go on and on.

It's some shameful shit. His life is over. Might as well put a bullet in him. like an old, broken down animal.

I've got some friends in good solid marriages (as far as I know) but with kids hardly see them and I've had to find new social circles. These guys barely get out anymore and when they do it's sad to see how neutered they are. My one good friend married a total cunt, she bitches at him all day, belittles him in front of everybody, you can hear her screeching at the top of her lungs four houses away. Guy had a decent house all paid for, lived in the city near all his family and friends. This bitch made him move out to the suburbs, 45 minutes away, tiny little house with a huge mortgage. Haven't seen or heard from the guy in months and feel bad he's trapped out there with a cunty wife and kid but he "just wanted to get married."

It's called breaking into jail, don't do it!

I can say there is some hope. Wait till you hit your 40's most of those guys will be divorced. I was married for a long time as well.
Like most of my guy friends we all ended up married at some point in our 20's.

Lost touch with all my friends, the ex made sure of that quickly. Now that almost all my old friends are divorced, we have reconnected and having a great time.

Marriage is a living hell. Their is no better way to describe it. I would have a hand cut off before I would ever consider doing that again.

Count me in. Obviously a consistent theme with red pill adherents.

I've lost track with 100% my old friends. Some of them aren't even hitched, but our lifestyles have completely grown apart.

One in particular...goddamn his wife is so fucking fat, and now she just had her first kid. He blew up too. Every time I think of him I'm reminded of that Bill Maher line, "I knew these guys...when they were stallions". That was us man, drinking and getting high, going around town breaking shit and starting shit, skating, playing guitar, partying, taking hallucinogens, not giving a fuck about girls or work or making money.

What's funny is there was a period of a few months when I was out of my LTR and had no prospects whatsoever for girls. I was working a bullshit job in a deli, had no money, no girl, living on a couch, literally had "nothing" going for me and none of the other guys did either. We just lived according to our own schedule, never really got anything done, had no major aspirations. 6 dudes living in a 2 bedroom apartment getting drunk, doing drugs, playing Nintendo, skating, tagging, painting, playing guitar. Even though those guys are mostly settled down, fat, and boring now, I know we could all get together and know how things used to be. It was really the happiest and most carefree time in my life, and probably theirs too.

"...so I gave her an STD, and she STILL wanted to bang me."

Damn man that is brutal. If this is a guy you really care for, you should slap the crap out of him to make him wake up. If you need a hand or two, I'm sure there would be a few in here more than willing to land you a hand or two...shit, that is unreal!
