Not sure how many of you guys are familiar with Fedor, but he's my favorite fighter of all time. I even like him more than the boxer Mike Tyson in his prime who I was a huge fan of. There was a time where I thought he was invincible. I was quite devastated when he lost in 2010, and eventually fell off, to say the least. His toughness was unlike anything I've ever seen.

Huge Fedor fan here, and strangely, like you, I actually was bummed on a personal level when he got submitted by Werdum.

It felt similar to what I imagine kids feel when they find out Santa Clause isn't real.

He was the Michael Jordan of MMA, and is not nor will probably ever be appreciated as such because of the UFC.

Good find--I will watch this for sure.

Love Fedor. Aside from being an incredible fighter, it seemed to me that he was a really decent man. Strong, principled, tough, fearless. A role model in many ways. Thanks for the clip.

Back in PRIDE he was the king. PRIDE IMHO was better than the UFC at that time and its heavyweight division beat UFCs Tim Sylvia's by far. Everybody in this sport takes a fall. Look at chuck Liddell, wanderlei silva, sakuraba, and others. They were awesome to watch n their heyday, but a time comes when their bodies don't respond we'll to the hits and losses pile up.

Fedor is one of my all time sporting heroes,an absolute beast back in the day but whilst remaining humble. The thing that amazed me about his fights in Pride when he was at his peak, was how calm he was under incredible pressure. In a few of his fights he found himself in terrible positions ( the Randleman suplex being a great example ) which should have led to a loss but he kept calm and somehow managed to regain the upper hand and win. Absolute monster in the ring.

I kind of wish he'd retired after Pride with his incredible record in tact instead of fighting on beyond his peak,but regardless,his place in MMA history as the greatest heavyweight is surely cemented.

Yup. I started to think he might be invincible after he not only survived but hung in there for the win, after the Randleman suplex. That suplex was such an explosive move and Randleman was able to position the weight of Fedor's body onto his neck as he slammed him onto the floor. I think most men would have become unconscious after that one, if not dead. It's mind boggling that Fedor immediately put Randleman in a hold following the suplex and won the fight via submission. What's even crazier is Randleman tested positive for steroids immediately following that match. A roided-up two time Division I NCAA Champion for The Ohio State University and Fedor still got it done. Unbelievable.

Yes, the Randleman suplex and subsequent kimura is definitely one of the iconic moments in MMA.

I'm sure not becoming paralyzed from that was largely a matter of luck, landing on maybe precisely the right spot on his neck/shoulder to escape a broken neck, but nevertheless it served to add to the mystique.

There is the fight with Filipovic and the 3 with Nogueira--so many legendary fights Fedor participated in. Sure there were a few cans mixed in there, but even if you take them away, his run in Pride/Affliction is pretty much unchallenged except for maybe Anderson Silva's current streak.

Yeah Fedor is the man. I've been watching MMA and PRIDE since the late 90s. Seems like a real cool and humble guy as well.

His undefeated streak was insane. If you watch the fight vs Ricardo Arona Fedor won by decision, but I'd say Arona won that fight. Fedor seems ridiculously strong and resilient, the triangle by Werdum must have been perfectly placed for him to tap, being stuck in a triangle sucks.

No heavy weight has had an illustration career as he has. For a while he was actually considered to be the best pound for pound ever too which just shows highly regarded he is since the bigger guys usually never get considered in pound for pound discussions.
