P Dog - That's Metal!

Houston posted some Punk Rock (Hardcore).





Anyway, Off! is a great band, their singer is Keith Morris, who used to sing for Black Flag and the Circle Jerks.

I've never heard of Parkway Drive before, but they sound decent enough. I don't listen to too much new metal these days, except for Municipal Waste and a couple other bands.

Back in the day, punks and heshers (metalheads) were mostly mutually exclusive, but in the 80's we did have crossover punk (or thrash) with bands like COC, DRI, and Suicidal Tendencies that both fans listened to.

I prefer punk, but I love older, blues and riff-based metal as well - stuff like Black Sabbath and Metallica with Cliff Burton.

One metal band that was huge with punks in my area back in the day was Neurosis. I saw them live many times during the 90's and they always put on an amazing show.









Edit - This is a crossover group from Italy. The album is from 1984. I love these guys!

Been getting into electronic act LCD Soundsystem lately. I've actually gotten into a lot of electronic music in the last year (Crystal Castles, Grimes, Purity Ring, Flume etc)

I don't really like that much metal. Municpal Waste is good, Anthrax, SOD, Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, DRI, Exodus, Motorhead, Megadeth, Sacred Reich, shit that has its own sound. Most of those real fast metal bands soundd the exact same. Slayer are probably my favorite, they're old as fuck and still do it better than these kids lol. Maybe some Deicide to scare the shit out of someone.

I've been listening to this ALOT. Never was a fan of Def Leppard, but this album slays!
