I am visiting Nashville at the end of September and am trying to figure out where to stay. It looks like the 2 main areas are downtown or by Vanderbilt. Which one makes more sense?

Also, are there any neighborhoods that I need to avoid?

Look up The Gulch. I have a friend that lives there. It's a happen/active place.

I suggest visiting The Treehouse restaurant. I was there at night with my gf at the time but a lot of potential. Could be hit or miss.

The Gulch is great I use to spend a lot of time there...... Also great areas are the green hills, Hillsboro area which is Vsndy.. Also near Belmont, however the new up and coming trendy place for some is easy Nashville though be careful only a block seperates up and coming to straight up hood plus side lots of cool bars, restarsunts and hot chicks though it's become the hipsters paradise..... Whiskey Kitchen, Sambuca, rood door saloon all great places. Division has lots of little bars clubs where the Vsndy kids and yuppies prowl places in like tin roof.

downtown probably makes the most sense.

vandy area if you are fratty/waspy

hilsboro villiage area if you are artsy.

east nashville if you are hipster.
