I've always thought the story of the Fall is the Garden of Eden was a beautiful allegory and contained lots of deep truths and it still has a lot of meaning even if you don't take it a historical event - which I don't and I'm assuming no one else here does either. The first woman falls under the temptation of the serpent and then adds up dragging the first man down along with her - I'm sure we can all say which this story is supposed to mean.
