Two Italian sailors were arrested by Indian officials for killing two Indians trolling the Italian Navy by pretending to be pirates. How do you resolve the situation? Out troll the trolls and incorporate the Italian Naval Flag into your racing livery for the Indian GP this weekend.

As an Italian I just can say that I support the Scuderia for putting pressure on the indian government for the release of these 2 poor guys that are detained since about one years for a fatal mistake.

Where does it say they were "pretending to be pirates"? From the article:

Just because they were mistaken to be pirates doesn't mean they were pretending to be so.

Not liking Indian Trolls doesn't justify killing them. This is getting ridiculous.

Were the Indians actually pretending to be pirates, or mistaken for pirates? The article says mistaken for pirates, and that definitely changes things. If they were pretending to be pirates, then that is their own fault they got shot. However, if they were mistaken for pirates, it could have been their fault, or the Italian Navy's fault, in which case I can see them being held.

If they were pretending to be pirates, man that is one giant troll backfire lol.

I don't know whether the Italians or the fishermen were at fault.

But I am happy to see a company that defends and celebrates its national roots. If Ferrari did not, it would cease to be an Italian company - it would just be another corporatist entity, shilling its wares across the globe with overdone branding in place of real character and origin.

Even for people, I tend to prefer the company of men who are proud of their roots, men who are proud to be Italian or Dutch or Brazilian. There's just something incomplete and off-putting about people who have no pride of place.

The only people who know what happened that day are the shooters and the two dead Indians. So whether they were pretending, mistaken, etc, it doesn't really matter. India will believe what India wants to believe, and the Italians will stick to the story that helps them. I just have to give props to Ferrari for giving a big "fuck you" to the country. Nationalistic pride is increasingly viewed as being one step away from racism. I'm glad to see they're not afraid to let their opinions be known.

I respect this bold move by Ferrari. Those soldiers have been waiting for their trial for months on end, they probably won't even have a fair one either because the jury and judge are sure to have biased opinions.
