First I thought he was crazy but as I read I found this story inspirational. I'm working on overcoming approach anxiety this kid is getting shot at with AK-47's and RPG's. It

I wouldn't be so sure. Have you tried asking a girl who Qaddafi was?

If it's not in their IMMEDIATE reality, the vast majority girls have little interest or concept of historical significance, determination, or anything else for that matter.

I think the story is interesting in a circus attraction kind of way, but I don't see anything inspirational about it at all.

The kid is reckless, lucky and by the account of other news articles, he was a liability to the unit he was with, who grew tired of him and sent him packing after a short time.

Right or wrong, the Libyans were risking and sacrificing their lives, careers, everything and he's wandering around there because he wanted adventure. He didn't even necessarily believe in the cause.

This is the type of drivel that western news media scoops up, embellishes greatly and churns out to pique the curiosity of the masses sitting at their cubicles doing the 9-5, daydreaming of what it would be like to "help" overthrow a dictator in mysterious far away lands.

In the grand scheme of things, it was supremely stupid. But you have to admire his sheer moxie, his cojones. Dude sounds like the biggest bro ever, and I mean that in a good way. I found it inspirational. Dropping everything, and not giving a fuck... This is what rockstars pretend to do.

It sounds like though he's a danger whore now, and can't get his fix without subjecting himself to huge risks.

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion but I don't see the logic in your statement.

If I were to take a loaded 6 shooter right now and play russian roulet, many would suppose that I have even more moxie than the kid in this story. Does that make me admirable?

It's sheer guts COMBINED WITH purposeful action that is admirable, in my opinion.

Our story's protagonist is missing the latter.

You need to learn how to spin a story. It doesn't matter who or what. It's the adventure and how you describe it.
