The most morally-upstanding and competent character on the show is guy. He is voiced by the writer/creator, Adam Reed, who comes off as pretty gay himself. His wikipedia page cites him and his "partner" but it's pretty ambiguous.

It's a cartoon. It doesn't have star voice. It is on an obscure network. And most of the fans are as far away from feminists as you can get in America. We usually don't associate with feminists on "friend terms" in our lives. No, "Hey did you see Archer last night describing the level of regret one should have when killing a whore? None. She's just a whore." talk around the water cooler.

Archer is not voiced by Adam Reed. H. Jon Benjamin, the guy that does Bob on Bob's Burger's is his voice.

I was just reading something that seemed odd to me. The creator, Adam Reed, essentially says Archer is James Bond without being "rapey". I've always known the creator is definitely not a manly man and Archer is kinda what he wants to be when it comes to women, he has said as much, but I didn't think he was quite that bad. It generally doesn't come across in the writing other than the other characters sometimes mock Archer for his views.

New season starts tonight at 9 central on FX

I guess morally-upstanding is relative haha. I was talking about Ray, but I shouldn't have described him as most competent. That is clearly Archer. I should have used "professional" instead, despite his gay club scene drug use.

Archer is very good looking, 10/10 facial aesthetics, genetic alpha.

Haha, I just watched the first two episodes. Really like it so far, very face paced humour.

Archer's voice sounds like the convenience store clerk from Family Guy.

Pretty sure it's the same guy.

He was also Coach McGuirk in Home Movies.

As a heads up for guys on the early seasons....once you get to the Archer Vice season it really goes downhill....however the most recent season is back to great concepts and laughs so it's worth sticking with the show.

Vice was pretty shit. The latest season was good, but not great, although it might be because I watched all seasons pretty much back to back. Hopefully the next few seasons will be back on top form.

"Danger Zone" is on my driving list because of Archer.

It's time to put the series to bed, though. I was really hoping that this last season would result with all of them getting a CIA bullet in the back of the head. Once all the characters started having sex with each other, it turned into an SJW "Don't judge me!" depravity fest.

Archer did go downhill a bit. The old stuff is still funny.

I don't really care where the future of the show goes, as long as it's funny and Pam Poovey dies unambiguously. Not like with Barry where you're pretty sure he's gone but he keeps coming back as a cyborg, but straight up disappears and is never mentioned again. She brings nothing good to the show.

RE: Anyone Here Watchng Archer?
I love Archer.

I just started watching House of Cards, based on the recommendation of this forum.

Question slightly off topic though: Why is it that nearly every alpha-male character in television has to have a gay past? Examples are Archer with his ex-agent friend who builds the B&B, and Frank Underwood, who had a male lover when he was a teenager.

I can't be the only one who's noticed this. There are plenty of other examples, but I don't watch much TV, so I can't think of them ATM.

Is this a conspiracy, al la Star Wars feminist plot? Or am I over-thinking this?

Probably because the writers think it's "edgy".

I recommend everyone simply skip Vice. I couldn't believe it was made by the same people. I considered the first two seasons to be as good as any comedy ever produced for television.

As for the voice of Archer, yes, it is the clerk from Family Guy. It's also same guy from Bob's Burgers, which I've never watched - H. Jon Benjamin. Many of the characters look similar to their voice actors, Archer..... does not.
