So I am living in colombia at the moment and have found the chics here through the old 'i love you' around like its going out of fashion.

I just say it right back, it seems easier not be make a big deal out of it, devalue it that make it into an issue. I mean how in love can you be after a week or two.

So far I have had a hot single mother tell me she loves me (extra guilt thanks) and a pretty smoking hot 24 year old. They both spat this out before I banged them so I thought better to agree and get laid than risk blowing it.

It seems the chics here have their life planned out with you after a week, is tricky to deal with, but colombian chics are addictive, they seem to worship their men.

Its just I get this horrid guilt from saying this and not meaning it, but I think making a big deal or not replicating may mean not getting laid.

Obviously in the US or UK 'I love you' seems to have some meaning, not really sure on the situation here.

Would appreciate anyones views

Yeah, thats been my philosophy, say whatever it takes to take the path of least resistance to getting laid, its just the guilt! anyone else get this??

I think in countries like colombia the guilt is worse cause you know the chics are with you cause they see a way out and don't have much options.

I have done it a few times, i do not recommend this is south america.

They tend to get crazy and agressive after you fuck them and move on.

Never, but I have also never encountered such a girl. Usually you simply provide enough game, and they just fuck without any 'precautions' like that.

Latinas are more traditional so I think thats just her way of saying "Do you love me?" She does'nt want to feel like a cheap whore so she asks you to tell her you love her before you can fuck her. Doesn't really matter if you lie, she doesnt care about the truth, she just wants to be reassured. When she goes to sleep at night she knows exactly what's up.

if your in latin america avoid te amo. instead go with te quiero, its more like i want you and more sexual. doesnt carry the emotional weight of a te amo.

Did they say 'te quiero' or 'te amo'?

In English there is only one way of saying 'I love you.' But in this sense Spanish is a more precise language - 'te quiero' is like I really really like you [could fall in love with you].

'Te amo' is generally reserved for a deeper love when you have known each other for longer. So it's a big deal.

I had the same problem and it's strange for a native English speaker. If its 'te quiero' then there's no big deal in you saying it back. And i banged girls who said it to me before I banged them.

Remember Latin women wear their hearts on their sleeve and are much more in touch with their emotions than a sexually repressed bitch from HR will ever be. Treat them as such and don't be afraid to open up a little bit more than you would with an Anglo woman. It will make the experience more worthwhile.

Agreed. It's like asking, "Would you wear a tutu and heels to bang a girl?" - In what universe would doing this make a girl more likely to bang me?

In America, you'll likely never have this conundrum. Even if a girl asked you if you 'like' her, you're better off answering with something different, like 'I enjoy your company,' so that she doesn't think you're merely placating her for sex.

I know they are not telling the truth! But i still get the guilt for reassuring them I am in for the long term when its just a fuck for a few weeks.

Would like to hear other guys views on colombia, it seems the girls want to make things into this romantic affair and you have to play along to get laid. Its non comparable with what I have experience in the US or UK.

The girls in Colombia can be very idealistic and romantic. So sprinkling some 'beta' game in there won't hurt.

Do whatever you feel is consistent with your own values. Your guilt is telling you that you're not comfortable with your own actions and the way you're treating people.

Either listen to your guilt and use it to live with more integrity. Or ignore it. Up to you.

Colombia can teach you things and improve you emotionally, if you're open to that. The women here are generally sweet. You don't have to play hardball in Colombia to get results. A lot of North American game tactics are wrong or counterproductive for this environment.

Some people commented above from their own North American experience, which makes sense to them. But take it with a large grain of salt before you apply those comments to Latin America.

The situation you described where she says "te quiero" is easy to handle.

Suppose you reply with something watered down, and she bitches at you because you didn't say you loved her. Tell her: "My culture is a bit different to yours. People who are saying 'I love you' have usually already had sex together. Because they both wanted to. In my culture the action is more important than the words."

Now you've reframed it and she knows you expect her to put out before things can go further.

As was mentioned above, if she's saying that stuff to you, it's likely she craves hearing it from you and wants to prompt that. Build a vocabulary of phrases that she'll enjoy hearing and it will help you move the ball down field quicker.

Te quiero still means I love you, although you're right that it's not quite as heavy as te amo. Depending on the context it might be more like "I like you a lot" but it's still not really a purely sexual thing. "I want you" would be more like "te deseo."

As for the question, yeah if I thought that's what I needed to do to get me laid then sure I'd say it. In my experience in South America it's not needed, though. If a girl dropped "I love you" on me, I'd be more inclined to say something like "you're so beautiful" and escalate physically than go all beta and reflexively spit it right back at her.

Definitely. For example, if a latina ask you something and you don't feel like answering if you are a gringo you can always say "que?" or "no entiendo." She may repeat the question again and you should still act confused. In most cases she will move on from the question. I've used this many times. haha
