Like someone already mentioned, dude was probably just a class clown that was popular in school for that reason. Since this did go down in a rural town in VA, he was probably one of only a few black students in a predominately white school, which only helped him with the exotic dynamic. If she was a permanent substitute, he probably was just bold enough to say semi flirtatious shit to her that made her curious over time. He had daily access to her so that isn't too far fetched. And since he more than likely was one of the only black students, I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't initiate some of the flirting, seeing as how she was still relatively young herself. I can pretty much guarantee that he isn't the first black guy she's fucked.

Would this same thing have happened if she was a teacher in New Orleans where his look is the norm? I'm not sure.

I'm not trying to diminish the lil dudes accomplishment. I'm not saying he was a total lame that just got lucky. He probably was marginally gamed up and popular in his school around a lot of white guys as one of the only black guys, which made him look better than he actually is in reality. Here we go...its not the people, its the communities. Thats like saying, "I met a cool black person in buffalo, how bad can south side chicago be". The rough parts of Winnipeg and Thunder bay are predominantly first nations neighbourhoods that I wouldn't walk around in at night.
