Okay this isn't some ground breaking epiphany or anything, and may apply less to guys in big cities or states where smoking inside bars and clubs is still legal, but I have found recently that I have better approaches when I talk to girls hanging out in front of a bar as opposed to inside it.

So I live in a town that has a small bar row, where the 4 bars in town are located next to each other. Since smoking in bars has been banned in CA anyone who wants to smoke has to go outside. Also, a lot of times girls will step outside of the bar or hang out in front to get fresh air, wait for a friend, or bounce to go to the next bar.

I have found that I have much more successful approaches when a girl is just chilling out in front of the bar, usually they are by themselves or just hanging out with one other friend. Since there is no loud music, and it's not the typically chaotic scene inside the bar where there are many distractions, I find it much easer to open girls with conversation, and hook them into conversation.

I've never been blown out or even mildly rejected when I open a girl hanging out outside the bar, whereas for whatever reason I've had chicks ignore me or act like bitches when I've approached at times inside the bar.

As long as you step to them in a confident manner and speak clearly and slowly, the approach always seems to go well and can get good conversation going. I make sure to give them a little distance at first, angle my body position off a little bit, so they don't see boxed in, lean back when I speak, maintain good posture and masculine body language. Once the conversation hooks, I drop "bait" and wait for them to show some interest by asking me my name or questions. Once I sense interest with them, I move in close, become more flirtatious, and start using kino by touching them on the arm, shoulder, back, or place my hand on their lower back.

This is all pretty textbook game, and like I said nothing new to most players. It's very simple, but the fact that I get much better responses from girls when I talk to them outside the bar as opposed to inside, almost makes me want to chill out in front of the bar more and do more approaches there.

I hate smoking cigarettes, but cigarette game is the easiest way to open and get hooked into conversation. Ask a girl if you can bum a cigarette and then effortless move into conversation. My other go to opener is also basic, I think I got it mostly from Krauser, but I use the old, "Hey what's up, you caught my eye, I wanted to come over and introduce myself", or just a simple "hey how's it going, I like your outfit... blah, blah, blah..."

When I approach girls outside the bar, I get into conversation easily, and have been closing numbers with an extremely high percentage rate. The only issue is really bouncing them from talking outside the bar to going inside the bar to get a drink and continue the interaction. Often times they are waiting for a friend who's about to show up or leave the bar, or they are with a big group of girls and just stepped out for a cigarette and want to get back to their group. Obviously if your game is good enough or if they are attracted to you enough, they will ditch their friends or invite you to join along. For whatever reason, I tend to just get the number and exit on a high note when the convo winds down and they want to get back to their group.

I've gotten many bangs since I started using smoking approaches outside bars or in the smoking area of bars/clubs. It really is amazing the level of ease you have upon approaching based on cigs. Usually I start with "do you have a lighter" then go into asking them about some shit randomly, then if they are receptive get into the teasing/flirting.

One favorite line I use if they are smoking is go up to them and say "you know smoking is horrible for you right?" then I pull out my cigarette and ask for a light. Very often that elicits a laugh and you go from there.

Yeah definitely. Just chat 2 minutes, and they're a lot more warm when you bump into them in the bar. No bitch shields outside. Same with groups WALKING to the club. Just chat for a couple min (quick opinion opener sometimes), and next thing you know in the club, you're the only guy they don't blow off cause they already "know" you. Or just shout at them "baaayy-beee" or "heyyy mama" with a fun sing song voice and they start giggling and like it. Depends on time constraints you're dealing with.

I hate smoking though. I'll do it sometimes but it makes me feel like shit.

Would definitely agree with this.

I've also noticed that general levels of ADD-ness seem much lower with chicks outside bars or clubs compared to inside. Might have something to do with lower energy levels outside, no music, or other factors.

I don't smoke and I'm aware of this, it feels wrong to me how simple it is to approach in smoking environment if you smoke.

In places where they have a "smoker room", it is just so easy to get to talk to girls. It's "natural". I have taken up smoking consciously just for this reason.

I was just talking about this with one of my boys. No question, the shields are lower outside the bar. One time we just drove bumped some music and did a couple laps around the bars at closing time and got a surprising number of women to dance/look/etc. So there might be some potential there. Not sure what you can with that, though, other than say "jump in."

I don't think anyone here starts smoking simply to meet women. There used to be a pretty heated argument on the boards with G about the benefits of smoking. He and a few others would take it to the extreme and say "Start smoking".

However, it does definitely add to the repertoire of easy approaches.

I don't smoke, so I let Slubu do the smoking approach and then swoop in and reap the benefits

If you just smoke a few cigs at the bar it's not really going to fuck up your health.
You could also use weed instead.

it's like.. if roosh said in his book that wearing white t shirt (instead of any other color) will boost your opening ratio from random to 80% most guys would follow that. it's an easy fix.

If you hate smoking twigs, OG, pick up a pack of Backwoods. Great-tasting cigars and I know your impulse is probably going to worry the smell would gross people out, but I can't tell you how many times people have complimented me on the smell of the Backwoods. They usually say something like "Is that a cigar? I don't usually like the smell of cigars but that actually smells really good."

Seriously - I don't think I ever pull these things out with people around and not have someone make a comment.

I don't smoke either but I see hot women smoking cigarettes all the time outside bars. I have never approached them but I'm thinking this is a great untapped resource.

What do you guys think about the following opener in this situation, "If I smoked, I would ask you for a light right now. Unfortunately I don't but I'd still like to meet you."

Doesn't work nearly as well as the classic, "Got a light?"

The entire reason the cigarette/light opener works so well is because it's totally natural. And by being totally natural, it comes across as smooth. You aren't talking to her because you want to meet her. You aren't giving her that instant validation. You're just a cool cat rolling up trying to enjoy a cig.
