I used to go to the one in Gangnam all the time. I have lost thousands at that damn roulette table over the course of a year. I was very drunk and went to the one out in Incheon airport, or somewhere way out of the way, but they refused to open the table for me, and I do not do slots, so I hate them for wasting my time.

The one in Seoul is not bad at all, they serve you free wine/beer as long as your playing, and there is talent, though it is hit or miss. THe other casino was commuter and was shit terrible. Lots of old people and really boring.

Spring is officially here - weather is beautiful and the girls look even better

Normally I don't go out on Friday and Saturday but I went out both days because I was feeling it - I barely went out during the winter maybe once a week or once every 2 weeks.

Friday I smashed this Korean chick that actually had tits and Saturday met a guy from here but I don't know what his username is since we've been messaging since way back and the meet was a long time coming.

So Friday I head to Itaewon and do the usual circuit that I do there - Prost/Glam (same building Prost is 1st floor and more bar feel and Glam is 2nd floor and more lounge/upscale feel) and Thursday Party (props to rungoodinc for this tip).

Benefits: No cover at any of these places, high turnover (chicks coming in and out), drinks seem cheap at Thursday Party (would assume pricier at the other places since they're less ratchet) but I only ever get Jameson on the rocks which is 5,000 won or about $4-5 USD. If you want to go cheaper there are a bunch of convenience stores in the area that sell bottles of soju for ~1,200 won or ~$1 USD.

Prost/Glam are more Korean and your competition (foreign) that I've seen tends to be better dressed or looking like older businessmen types. Thursday Party will remind you of America - ratchet. Here you will find some girls who are foreign dick hunters vs. the other two joints where you will probably have to have more game. It would also be rare to find anything above a Korean 5 or 6 at Thursday Party.

There's also this place called JR Pub I think that's on the street with the tranny bars/hookers but instead of going towards those places go down to the right if you're coming from Hamilton Hotel. I went once and it was all right but a bit removed from the other 2 joints. Also seems to be a Southeast Asian (Filipino, Thai) presence there if that's your thing.

So I head to Prost there's this one chick I see who's got some tits (I'm not really that big on tits by the way, it's just you'll almost never see a girl with above an A cup here) and a tight body. Turns out she's from America? Like Korean-American but living here now? Granted, I was way too spacey at this point and more interested in the weather and having fun and kind of rambling, but I guess some time in America can fuck up one's personality and she gave me an American style blowout lol.

There happened to be a motel on that hooker hill - wasn't too bad and room was going for 50,000 won (others I've been to have been 60). She wouldn't come in the room with me though, I tried every bullshit excuse in the book (I can only speak Korean, not read it - help me decipher this remote and find a good TV channel I can watch later). I should have ditched her earlier, but I'm an idiot

We go back to Thursday Party, I try to get her more drunk by getting us drinks. We dance and make out (usually a good sign but not here since she was just drunk and crazy) and I try to bring her to the motel again. This time when we get to the door, she gets pissed and bounces.

At this point, it's around 3am and I'm like fuck it and start drinking more whiskey. At one point as I'm walking towards Thursday Party, I see a girl in the smoking area giving me eye traffic (might have just been yucky and wrong). If anyone is in Busan wants to catch up for a drink I live down here and I'm always down. My mates aren't always down to come out and going out so in Korea is tough. I find Busan girls are not as dtf as Seoul but have pulled some nice chicks and know the bars here. Also helps so much if you have a chill korean wingman.

I went out last weekend and met up with white knight rises.

Picking up mini sojus from the convenience store across the street always makes for a better time (they never pat you down, or maybe it's because I'm Korean). Soju also seems to fuck me up faster even though it's only 20% (maybe I'm not used to it)

Octagon is definitely still the best club in Gangnam for picking up. I don't think anyone here will have any luck outside of there as the other places are very Korean and have more of a club "scene", closed off feel (based on the places I've been to including Answer, Ellui - I think they closed, Syndrome - I think they closed and re-opened - this club is pretty sick though). Many more girls seem to roll in groups of 2s and 3s without knowing other ppl at the club

Vibe was awesome last weekend, probably due to the warmer weather. Even up until 4am (around when I pulled) club was poppin

Was with a half Chinese/half Japanese girl who gave me strong eye contact and smile earlier in the night from ~2-3? You can get a decent love hotel/motel for around $50-60 USD/night for sure. My personal favorite is one in Gangnam (Sinsa) called Highland Hotel... in close proximity to most of the Gangnam clubs.

This is because the Korean government wants to make money off of gambling revenue but at the same time they don't want their citizens to engage in harmful (in their view) behavior. So they get the best of both worlds and make money off of foreigners (mostly the rich Chinese and Japanese people) instead.

I used to be a regular in the poker room Walker Hill Casino at the W in Seoul. My job back then was very seasonal (only worked 3 months of the year) so I was dependent on that income for the rest of the year. Definitely a good spot to meet other foreigners/Korean-Americans and/or kick it before going out for the night.

I went to a few events like that back in the day. The girls are easy because they are foreign lovers and also because the competition is really whack since the guys are mostly lame English teachers. Quality is pretty meh though and I didn't wanna associate myself with the rest of the guys there. I'd rather just meet girls at the club or bar.

First day in Seoul. The city is interesting and has a vibe to it that I have never experienced anywhere else, it's difficult to describe.

There are loads of hot girls walking around during the day dressed in a feminine manner, many of whom were in pairs with another girl. Still, all the Korean girls I have ever talked to, there always seems a bridge built upon cultural difference and cemented with linguistic difference that I cannot cross, leading the interactions to be pleasant, but lacking a spark. Still, it's a good challenge. Either way I enjoyed walking around Seoul, peering into the nooks and crannies, walking down little side streets.

Prices weren't to bad. Admittedly I've only been here a day but here's what I've discovered so far:

There were quite a few tailors, I went inside one and was quoted 45,000 for a shirt ($38) in the UK i believe one shirt is around $100 (not from personal experience)

I managed to eat spaghetti with meatballs and vegetables for 7000 ($5.90) in a German theme restaurant

I went grocery shopping buying 3 chicken breasts, 2 litres of milk, 8 tubs of noodles and Nutella. If my memory serves me correct it came to about 22,000 won ($18.54)

Met up with a guy from South America who I met in Israel last year (non RVF)

Met up with Poker last night. Solid dude, gets a +1 from me.

Went to Prost and Glam in Itaewon.

Glam is still solid (about the same as it was when I left Korea two years ago), but I have to say, Prost has definitely gotten better. It's a chill spot where you can hang out and have a beer, but it also has a fun and loose vibe to it, especially as the night goes on. A good spot for both picking up and hanging out and it seemed like there were a lot more girls there than there used to be.

Got a little too drunk and ended up at Gold Bar (lol) later in the night. It's a dirty fun kind of place but I like the music there and there is always the possibility to get lucky there. Ended up with some girls that Poker was talking to and spent a while with one of the chicks. Was able to isolate her and walked her up to the love hotel up the stairs by Thursday Party (it's called Hotel D'oro. Good place although it's pretty expensive--$80 for a night) and tried to pull her there.

My girl wasn't having it when we got in front of the hotel, kept trying but no go. So at that point I was like **** it, if we're not going to hotel I'm gonna get my money's worth (already spent over an hour with her at this point). The way my ex Korean girlfriend explained it to me was that they used to have a sort of lottery drawing once a week, in addition to the standard casinos only foreign nationals can visit now. Well, a huge portion of the Koreans who played the numbers, played with their entire savings. So one family won, but thousands had lost everything overnight. So the Korean gov decided they did not want to take money from natural Koreans, but simultaneously recognized that foreigns are truely inferior, so now they have no problem exploiting the dirty yangnoms, but refuse to let Koreans show their degeneracy.

A very Korean rule once you understand their belief that they have pure, Korean blood; and you are just a foreigner.

Met up with rungoodinc yesterday - dude's got mad game and a shocking amount of knowledge about Korea/Korean language skills for a non-Korean (definitely helps). Also just a very chill guy in general

Spent the day shopping and went to Noryangjin Fish Market - worth checking out if you want raw fish sliced up in front of you and stuff. And of course trying live octopus.

Stepped into a language exchange and left immediately after viewing the crowd (10:1 guy to girl ratio, etc).

Originally didn't want to go out because I want to cut back on the regularly waking up at 3pm on Sundays thing but met up with rungood and we killed a few bottles of soju and before I knew it, at the club Syndrome.

Got there a bit early so we chilled outside for a bit since the weather was nice. Go in ~11:30-12 and the vibe just wasn't there yet. It started getting good at ~1:45 like girls having more fun/probably starting to get drunk, etc. However, rungoodinc and a few of his friends weren't getting good responses and wanted to roll to Octagon.

I mentioned this before but IMO as of right now (2016), Octagon is the best (Gangnam) club for pickup. Especially if you aren't Korean. Don't be fooled by the free cover for some other clubs (I think Octagon doesn't allow foreigners on guest list - as of now (2016), but this might be different if you have a strong connect). The other clubs, e.g. Syndrome are much more "scene" and Korean (regular clubbers/club circles vs. girls in 2s and 3s like Octagon and general coldness towards foreigners).

*I was starting to get good responses at the time Syndrome was getting good but I am playing a totally different game because I am Korean and near bilingual. I still prefer Octagon regardless - they also remodeled Syndrome and it's kinda wack now - no hip-hop room, smaller dance floor, more tables.

Anyway, we get to Octagon and it's poppin off as usual. Decent amount of foreigners, too (girls we met later on said when they google for Korean clubs Octagon comes up - #5 club in the world or whatever). I was pretty faded at this point (we drank a lot), but I wanna say we weren't there for long before run approached his girl and I came in and winged her friend. They were traveling from the US and run's girl was Japanese and mine Filipina. We talk a little and I get everyone to go to the dance floor. While dancing I try to finger the chick. She moved my hand away and I think I suggested going upstairs to hip-hop room but run was like "포차" (pocha - Korean style bar where you sit down, drink, eat some food). I didn't think my girl was down to leave just yet but run later told me things were going well with his girl.

We go to this strip in 논현 (Nonhyun) which isn't too far from Octagon and full of pocha establishments. Anyway, we kill 4 bottles of grapefruit soju in what must have been 30 minutes or so (had pre-drank, gone through a couple mini soju bottles, etc - pretty damn yucky). I notice run's girl feeling him up and my girl starts to follow suit. Run and his girl suddenly disappear somewhere and I start making out hard with mine. Girl completely flipped because of the drank - I shouldn't underestimate the power of continuing to talk to girls who might not be DTF right away and getting girls drunk but I'm pretty introverted and mad cheap haha.

After this, we take a cab to the girls' hotel in Itaewon. I pull some ninja shit and go with the girl into the hotel (run and his girl didn't notice apparently). It's on immediately and we're going at it, she's talking mad dirty and all crazy - my first Filipina but my overall experience with Southeast Asians is positive re: sexy time. After we are done, I hear (presumably) run and his girl trying to get in the room - could've swore one of us got up to open the door but apparently they had to get another key lol. What an epic night^^ haha. I was impressed by how you pulled in that particular situation.

Whiteknight is definitely right. For clubbing, Octagon is absolutely the best place to pull ONS for a foreigner in Seoul. It's worth the $30 cover. Itaewon provides more opportunities for getting numbers in a more chill environment so it depends on what you are going for that night.

And thank god for 순하리 (sunhari). It's this new type of bottled flavored soju which has only been out for a year or so. Comes in grapefruit, apple and peach flavors and it tastes delicious. I used to hardly ever drink soju but I can drink this stuff like water. The girls we were with couldn't believe how good it is either, definitely a major key haha.
