RE: Seoul Data Sheet (Fall 2012)
This thread is interesting
Probably the most updated one on the forum.
In gonna be heading to Korea in a couple days.

Black, American
6'2 in my twenties.
I don't speak Korean and I've never been to Asia..
Hell.. Asian girls have never even been in my radar( being and ass man

I'll don't be directly in Seoul, I'll be closer to Pyeongtaek.

Any other guys in the area. What's the update been in this area.
What can I expect?
Are there any brothers in the area?

I haven't read this whole thread in detail.
But it seems like Korean girls might not be into me?

Like always, when I hit the ground, I'll be trying to her some as much as possible and drop pictures and data

I am the cock carousel

RE: Seoul Data Sheet (Fall 2012)
They're moving the main army base in Seoul at Yongsan to pyeongtaek in a few years. Real estate is too pricey to leave it as is, and to Americas credit, they are just giving it back to the Koreans with no money exchanged.

There's a naval base in PT, so there should be some infrastructure designed for the servicemen, but likely will be sort of seedy bars and what not. Would highly suggest sticking to Seoul if at all possible: still a lot more open to black guys than other part of Korea. Hongdae and Itaewon are where you can find a lot of hip hop girls where you'll probably have the best shot at.

I meant to write, * I won't be directly in Seoul.
It seems like they already moved a lot of out of Seoul.
I heard the base in Pyeongtaek even has a water park

I'll be living in Pyeongtaek

What are the clubs like on average in terms of music.

I mean.. In America and in a lot if Europe places.. Hip hop/ american radio is played in all clubs.
Because of that, I rarely go to clubs that are specific " hip hop clubs "

I'm not into chicks trying to play the Asian version of a character they saw on real housewives of Atlanta.

How do minorities, Black and Hispanicsl, do in the general public and nightlife areas

What's up Sourcecode?

I used to live in Korea, if you have time I also wrote about it here.

I posted more recently, but as I did in my post, I concede that the best intel on Korea is in fact, in this datasheet.

In general, no. Korean women are not very friendly to the brothers. But it is possible. Booshala has the right idea. Most of the locals who would be interested or curious make it a point to visit those parts of Seoul, Itaewon especially. Gooning-up probably worked here last in the late 90s, if at all. Breaking the stereotypes that they see in movies and hip hop videos will do nothing but improve your odds.

Before committing to an all nighter in Seoul, try to hang out in the evening to get a feel for the places you like to go and catch the last railroad back down to Pyeongtaek from Yongsan or Seoul station around 11pm. The last subway going down that far will be a little after 9 pm. It's cheaper, but takes twice as long- it might be the better option if you aren’t near Pyeongtaek station itself (adjacent stations are far apart in that area.) Any questions about transport logistics in Korea let me know.

I can't really comment on the nightlife in that city itself though. I know there's a very small street walking distance from Songtan station right in front of the base. I think they even called it “Little Itaewon.” I think Dash talked about it on some data-sheets he threw up.

One of the worst things about being on the pull here is having not only the culture, but the transport system and ratios working against you, and this will happen if you're out past the last train. Waiting until after 5am for the rails to start running again, and opening girls who have already been opened poorly by guys who grossly outnumber them is no fun. Catch them in the same venues early instead. Itaewon is lacking in motels and or dvd rooms to pull so I say go for a number or Kakao-talk and set up a day two elsewhere and try to bounce to those locations then. I generally don't do anything beyond light kino in the first meeting anyway. I know for sure she's keen if I get her to come out on a day two.

Hongdae has motels and dvd rooms but the motels will probably start at 50K won and up. I say first do the private dvd room to escalate- you still have a bit of plausible deniability to work with as well. You're a newbie in Korea so play it up and act as if you didn't know what young people REALLY do in those private dvd rooms.

You can go solo but if a wing is available use him. I'd volunteer but I finally left the country earlier this year.

Beyond the language barrier, the odd stare and some people refusing to sit next to you on the subway, I don't think you're going to have any trouble with the general public out and about, well- nothing that white foreigners wouldn't also have to deal with.

I can't stand K-Pop, and the music scene here in general is lacking- but here's a video that always makes me smile to get in the spirit.

If you're a black man, you'll probably have better chances with the 300 pound English teachers from Canada than the local K-girls.

Korea can be pretty insular. Still, there are some K-Girls who are into the brothers.

Google "Quincy Black Korea".

I think going out suited down (no tie, pocket square) might be a good idea to set yourself apart in a good way there.

Glarkcable: good info and it's ultimately a drag but still useful being realistic. Also love the Itaewon Freedom clip - I wanted to go to a Halloween party as JYP with the gumby head fro but figured no one would get the joke.

The land in Yongsan never belonged to the US in the first place - it was under some lease agreement with the Korean government. In fact when I was stationed there in the mid 90s they told us we could be prosecuted under US and Korean law if something bad went down with a woman on post. Never heard of that happening, but probably possible. You can game in other parts of the country too, not just Yongsan, but like anything else, go to where the odds are in your favor.

I for one am stunned at the idea of day gaming being bad there now. I used to kill it - met them in the subway, on the streets, in restaurants - all over the place. And there were no cell phones - only lame beepers and pay phones. But it was still very doable since it seemed like so many Korean girls had a white guy fetish. The approach you need, however, is a lot more subtle than clown day game or PUA nonsense some guys try to pull. Have to watch for any eye contact or glances, and take that as an invite. Of course it helps leaps and bounds to speak some Korean of course.

If you want to make it easier on yourself then yes, go to the places where the Korean women will go when they want to meet foreigners. I'm not sure how the advent of Facebook and the iPhone has affected Korea but I shudder to imagine it now - I'm sure it's changed. I haven't been there since 2000, and even then I only just started to notice more Russian and Filipino women (most of them working girls) showing up in the cities.

English teachers are generally looked down upon, and so are GIs to a point, but that's only by the upper crusty Korean women who you probably couldn't afford anyway. If you are a GI, do what I did and try to grow your hair to the longest point you can without pissing off your first sergeant. Dress a bit better than your retarded squad mates and on your off time, don't hang where the GIs hang. If you're an English teacher, maybe there's a way to pass yourself off as some kind of consultant for an IT firm or whatever. Point is, if something isn't working while you're there, take cues, step back and adjust, then re-attempt.

RE: Seoul Data Sheet (Fall 2012)
Seoul update: I was in town last weekend and a quick primer on what I noticed.

- Itaewon is still the popping nightlife area although Octagon in Nonhyundong still remains popular. Garusogil has over the years become the established place for cafes, restaurants and going out on dates.

- Plastic surgery face is out of control: At least half of the young girls nowadays have that really unnatural, shiny face thing going. It looks good on a few girls, but most seem like they cheaped out and/or had terrible bone structure to begin with and so they just look like albino frogs.

- Fitness is huge: Crossfit and gyms are booming. An acquaintance I have was one of the first people to introduce crossfit to Korea and he's banking seven figures a year from a half dozen gyms. Lots of young girls are getting down with squats and lifting and have that sexy, almost too fit crossfit chick body with ass and shapely legs. Guys continue to lift more and I saw three dudes at the hotel gym who looked like Brad Pitt in Fight Club.

- Almost nothing is cheap now: Korea's economy has always skewed expensive for foreign and luxury items as the rich could afford them, but the local stuff was reasonably priced for the rest of society. Now even local clothing brands and native food are much more expensive, even since I was there in February. Tokyo used to be markedly more expensive than Seoul, but now I'd only give it a 15-20% premium.

- Westernization is setting in quickly for females: Never seen so many girls openly smoking in public, have visible tattoos and skrillex half shaved haircuts. 4 years ago, I saw several girls get openly bitched out in public by complete strangers for smoking... now this.
