This thread is so chock full of misinformation and over-generalizing, it surprises me. Generally when rooshers here post, it's from direct personal experience and not because someone saw a youtube video and then proceeded to make sweeping and inaccurate generalizations.

Korean men are not all short skinny starcraft fanatics. I see more and more tall guys, well-dressed, not feminine looking by any means, and many of them work out, some of them jacked and huge. they get bombarded with the same media-driven self-improvement propaganda that we do in the states. the average korean guy most certainly looks nothing like what you see in music videos. the average korean girl, like girls in any country, like those guys in the music videos because they are POPULAR and because OTHER GIRLS like them. Duh. They're 15 year old girls.

When they hit their late 20's and early 30's, they realize how childish they were in their understanding of what an attractive man really is and then actively seek out men with qualities that women of any country find attractive (tall, financially independent, in good shape, etc...).

another note: those gay-looking korean boys in the music videos do very well with the girls.

but more importantly, why would you ever believe what you see on tv (or youtube) to accurately portray reality?

Those generalizations, especially about Korea and Japan, are usually made with "rose coloured glasses". People want to believe that those two places are all full of grass eating shut ins.

They are not. Korean can be more macho than Japanese men, though.

It does bother me a bit though that Korean girls will dress and act slutty but in no way are down for sex. Unless they specifically like western guys, they are extremely cold "ice queens". Christianity is huge there and virginity in women is highly prized, so go figure.

At least in Japan even if they dont have a love for westerners, they still have a curiosity that can be used.

South Koreans in general enjoy a superior status overseas in Asia. Not sure about Japan, but definitely in China and South East Asia. Even outside of the continent they're looked up to the most among Asians. Not sure why that is though, but their men ought to make use of it if they're not already.

South Koreans spend a lot of money where ever they go. they'd buy the Philippines, if the laws didn't prevent it. They are probably the number one tourist group in the Philippines.
