Culver City? -Central location and cheaper
Venice Beach? Westside life

Any where else?


Second, I'm kind of getting the feeling alot of dudes on this thread gmanifesto etc.. lived in LA for a long time and just hated it after a while.. I get that. I lived in DC for awhile and while it had good and bad parts.. after A couple of years I just couldn't stand it anymore.

When you move to a new city, everything is fun for the first years and then the bad parts get really old. Even for me living in Miami after 2 years got kind of old. Besides parties Miami is quite limited. Granted the parties are awesome but been there done that imo ... It doesn't have that much variety in life there in South Florida

That's why I moved to Europe so many years ago. But looks like LA is the next step

It's a logistical nightmare, there's zero foot traffic, the women are insanely flaky (literally about 3% of my numbers are converting to dates as opposed to roughly 12% when I was in Chicago and NYC). That's hard data right there. I've been doing nothing but daygame after finding that I have a better chance of winning the lottery than pulling a girl from a bar/club who drove from an hour away in a car with 3 of her friends).

Btw I was in Venice Beach this weekend and while the beach itself was nice, most of the people on the boardwalk were crackheads and degenerates.

I know I sound like a massive Debbie Downer but I genuinely don't want like-minded guys to make the same mistake I did.

LA is a veritable pussy purgatory...unless you're extremely well-connected, have the tightest game imaginable, or look like/are a male model.

My dates/pulls/lays have PLUMMETED since moving here despite the fact I look exactly the same and my level of game has actually increased.

I would say move to Chicago/NYC/Philadelphia and call it a day. I've also heard very good things about Minneapolis, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Houston (even though the latter three have very bad logistics).

Without knowing your age or approximate budget, here's some thoughts to consider...

If you're making pretty good money and willing to spend ~$1.5-2.5k on rent, I would live in Venice (possibly in a 2BR with a roommate if u want to spend less). You're right on the beach in an "up and coming" area with a ton of restaurants and bars. One of my favorite bars in the city is in Venice. It really can be a great place to live nowadays, and the commute to El Segundo isn't awful since you're heading the opposite direction of traffic.

Culver City isn't a bad choice, though there isn't too much to do at night without needing to drive or take a long uber. There's a lot of good food places, but surprisingly very little nightlife. The Blind Barber is like the only bar out there. The closest place would be Samo/Venice which is a ~10-15 min uber. It's central, just not especially exciting. If you're more strapped for cash, you're right, you can usually find a spot here (or in Palms) for pretty cheap. There's worse places to live, just get used to ubering/driving pretty much any time you want to go out.

One more option just to consider - South Bay (Manhattan/Hermosa/Redondo Beach). This isn't technically part of LA, and the logistics to Hollywood or DTLA would be completely fucked, but there's some upsides to living there in your case. Your commute to work would be 5-10 mins, you'd be able to live right near the beach for cheaper than in Venice (I'm virtually certain apts out there are cheaper though I've never really looked), and there is a lot of things to do both in the day at night. The bar scene can be a bit like a frat party which has upsides and downsides, though I'll say, if you're into white girls, there are a TON of hot ass girls out there who often have way less attitudes than similar-looking girls that live in actual LA. Every single time I visit Hermosa to go out, I do pretty well, with very few blowouts and usually a couple make outs (pulling is tricky since I live 45 min away). It can be a pussy goldmine, esp when you're used to putting up with Westside attitudes.

Perhaps you could first live somewhere in Venice, Culver City, etc to get a feel for the actual city of LA, and when you get tired of Hollywood and Santa Monica scenes, move out to the South Bay and enjoy great work logistics and the chicks.

Seems to me that, at least logistically, the Marina Del Rey area may be a good place to live. It's right on a major north-south and east-west freeway, it's near the airport, and it's near the beach. It's about halfway between the South Bay and Venice/SoMo. I assume a major downside is that there isn't much nightlife around there, but because of it's central location wouldn't it be easier to get girls to come to your place?

I'd live in Venice/Marina del Rey as close to Abbott Kinney / Venice Pier (on Washington) or Main Street as possible. You wouldn't even need to drive anywhere on the weekends. Live on a Big Blue Bus line. http://www.bigbluebus.com You can even take it to the Promenade and then hop on the Expo line to downtown. Its surprisingly efficient.

You'll get laid out there fine if you're a local. The people there aren't as stuck up as rest of the westside, The Whaler and the Townhouse are my favorite spots. The easiest place to get laid though if your a local is the Eastside. Los Feliz/East Hollywood/Echo Park/etc. The hardest is Santa Monica and its not even close. Venice/Marina is kind of like a hybrid of the two. If you can afford the beach, live out there. Culver will be very boring for day to day living.

The Southbay is cool, but its a total bubble and everyone knows each other. If you want to be accessible to both, live in Playa del Rey. You'll just be ubering a lot but it'll be cheap. But if you have the cash, live in Venice/Marina.

Playa Del Rey is actually what I meant to say. I thought that area was also called Marina Del Rey.

Some advantages of the east side (Los Feliz, Silverlake, etc) also appear to be the proximity to downtown LA, lots of public transportation options, near a freeway hub, near Dodger stadium, and near Griffith Park which I understand has some good hiking trails. Some of the houses/apartments on the hills around there have incredible views of the downtown LA area. I actually lived in East Hollywood almost 30 years ago. But, at that time it was mainly low income immigrants with a big dose of struggling movie production workers and part-time actors. I imagine it has greatly gentrified since then.

While that last example of text game was pretty bad, I'm gonna have to back NBN on his hate for LA. I just came back from a conference in Chicago and there was this interesting exchange between a group of us there. It was me and this guy and chick from Texas and another girl from West LA. We got on this lighthearted topic of how the Texas girl lets her man play golf and I was complimenting her on being a good woman. She started joking how her mom taught her that if a man wants to play golf, let him as he'll be more relaxed. Remember, this was a light hearted topic amongst strangers networking. All of a sudden, the LA chick gets all emotion and defensive and says in her case, her man better at least tell her or ask for permission first. At that point it got weird and the rest of us just kinda let it slide and move on to another topic but that's LA for you, shit that's California for you.

Even though it's cold as fuck, I much prefer it in Chicago than LA. it's just the culture of LA. It's lame. The traffic makes ppl dicks and biotches cuz we're all stuck in a car for most of the day. Also, I don't know how LA got the rep for being a fashionable city. My ass. Anybody who's been to the fashion district knows it's anything BUT fashionable.

The only thing LA has got going for it is it's cheaper than San Francisco and because San Francisco is just one big sausagefest, LA is the lesser of two evils.

That awkward moment when you realize most of the guys criticizing you are KJs who don't even approach.

You guys keep saying it's me, not LA, yet my results were substantially better in NYC and Chicago, so clearly it IS LA. In both of those cities, roughly 12% of my numbers translated to dates. Here in LA, it's been approximately a minuscule 3%, despite the fact my looks are identical and my cold approach skills have actually improved. In other words, it takes me 4x the work to get a day 2 here than it took me in NYC/Chicago.

Also, take note that mostly everyone else that moves here is seeing their game plummet.

Hell, even DC and Toronto are easy to figure out for a "cold" player.

DC and Toronto have zero competition, good logistics, easy doors etc. etc.

No other city has all the "foundational" hurdles of LA or Southern California cities.

No where even comes close.
