Seems like the city is huge, it's a little confusing. Still relatively new to the game if that makes any difference, we've recently gotten past the point where approaching and having conversations isn't an issue anymore, now it's more figuring out how to handle everything that comes after that. Can afford something up to around $200 / night, looking for some airbnb or something with good logistics at that price
I would suggest staying near santa monica and look into double tree or nearby hotels, they are usually around $250, also might be worth looking into airbnbs. If you are new then 3rd street promenade and santa monica pier will give you plenty of day game opportunities and for night you can just hit up "bungalow" which is a famous bar near the beach. It also is a pua mecca so just keep that in mind.

Would second that location. Focus on the foreign girls (asian girls are the best) who are there to shop/waste time/have no set itinerary.

Nightlife there has improved in the last few years.

Where I live, the girls will at least offer (sometimes) or pay for shit sometimes. Or at least do the pump fake, where they act like they are going for their purse...If I am out with a girl I am dating regularly, she will sometimes pay for stuff or we go halfies. This LA mentality kinda bothers me where the girls are getting offered dick and free drinks all day.

Downtown:
The Edison
Perch
Library Bar
Suede
Seven Grand
Broken Shaker
Elevate Lounge

Hyde I would recommend only if you're spending a lot of $ (though you will see stunners), Delilah/Doheny Room are pretty tricky to get in (unless going for dinner), and Nightingale is pretty similar to 1OAK so you wouldn't like it. Abbey is cool for the experience, but it is a high-energy, raging gay bar so I also don't think that would be a fit.
Overall... I would recommend staying in Weho/Hwood over Downtown, it's a bigger area with more variety, and you can have reasonable logistics for both of them (versus if you're in Downtown, it is annoying to get to Weho/Hwood).
