Interesting video. I'd have to disagree with this guy. I know they put in "thousands of hours" designing these phones, but it's not for them to be rugged. There are phones out there built to last but they suck ass. iPhones are meant to look good and perform well, not last a century. Cases are important but not for the reason you think. What happens when the 5C breaks? It lands at an angle that puts a ton of force onto the screen. The whole point of the case is to prevent the phone from landing in such a way that it cracks. Lifeproof cases are GREAT in that they have all of the protection on the perimeter of the phone, so when you drop it, it has support on the corners that it lands on.

I've had cases on all of my iPhones and none of them have cracked (yet). I have dropped them hundreds of times.

I've been a lifeproof advocate for years but have recently switched. I had a lifeproof on a 5s but the screen protector didn't fit onto the phone very well and made it harder to click. I was at the AT&T store and bought one called "Pelican" that is holding up very well. It's not submergible like the lifeproof but really I just need it to be protected for drinks thrown on me, I'm not going to be going scuba diving with it.

Anyway are there any good apps out there that are actually useful? The only ones I use are:

Duolingo - get my spanish right
chains.cc - keeps me on track
Any.do - reminds me what shit I have to do
tinder - empties my nuts

I also have one called "Deep Relax" by a guy named Andrew Johnson. He's a hypnotist who makes apps and this app is great. I have a very hard time napping because my mind goes 100 MPH, but I put this on and it helps me relax and go to sleep.

The cables die pretty easily, and about 3-4 3rd party cables I bought don't work right. I had to spring for a new Apple cable.

Make sure you have a tested genuine Apple cable before you decide it's the phone itself.

Mint - keep track of your finances. Makes it easy to look at recent credit card purchases.
Waze - best GPS/Navigation app.
1Password - Keep track of all your passwords securely
Uber - I always use uber if it is an option over a cab.
airbnb - book apartments when traveling.
Spotify - easy to put it on a play list for music and just forget about it.
Trivia Crack - Something to play while taking a shit.

I think it's better to cover it with $80 otter box. it becomes twice as thick and it pretty much ignores the design but who cares? you have a precious iphone. you gotta protect it!

Pretty interesting! You are right, the case is pretty usefull! its an expensive phone, why not protect it? Iphone users often dont want to miss the design, the case does not make the Phone look better, but it makes it alot safer if it falls on the ground! http://salt.ch/sim-only/ thats a thing you should definitly read for yourself, cause that article explains the way we should work with our phones!

A few iphone questions.

Is it worth getting one used if i have a $200 limit? It looks like I will be stuck with a 5 but i have heard the batteries really suck on that model.

Do iphones sync your contacts via Gmail like Android?

How bad/slow is the 4 model?

Anyone had problems with an iphone and pay as you go monthly sim card? Do you just need to make sure it is unlocked?

Is jailbreaking like rooting an Android?! Just gives you more control of the phone and stock apps?

You'll be fine, I do this often. Imessage should continue to work as well; you can also use imessage on your computer. Also, Whatsapp will ask you if you want to change your account to your new phone number or just keep the original number. I don't change it since I like to keep in touch with people.

Answering my own question here, "Late Night" EQ setting is actually not an EQ at all but a nice AGC/compressor. It isn't adjustable which sucks but it's better than nothing and unlike the other EQ settings this is universal and works on every app. It sounds like it applies similar compression as when you use the built in speaker.

I have a problem with my iPad.

The main thing that's fucked up with it is that it will not connect to any of the Wi-Fi networks in my area.

So I try to Factory Reset it and when I do, they want me to delete "Find my iPod" app.

So I turn that off in the settings, use the correct password and all and the son of a bitch won't come off!

There are a bunch of popular paid apps that are free today. Here's a list of them. They've been doing this all week, but I just got my iPhone yesterday. A refurbished 4S for $80, which was a very good deal.

I've had a 5C for about a year and half and it's amazing. The only thing I envy is the larger screens of the 6's. The 5c is not good for browsing web pages.

A 5c is a pretty powerful computer. It can run skype very well, which is a pretty demanding app. I do online consulting over skype and it's never the phone that's the problem, it's the internet.

Using it almost all day every day, in a year and a half it's only crashed about 2-3 times-- my older Android crashed maybe every week or two but it was about 175 vs 600 unlocked for new 5C.

For the money the Galaxy Mini was a good phone too but when you're texting 5 girls at once on Skout, text message, and Viber and switching back and forth you need some heavier duty weaponry.
