prague or another czech city for weekend?
Hi,
I have an option to stay in Prague for a weekend or could take a side trip to another city not far (max 3-4 hours by train), I'm a bit reluctant as of the bad weather but then again I'm not usually arrive there.

I have already traveled Prague and enjoyed its cultural and historical pearls.
So my main interest in this trip would be nightlife, girls etc.

Any recommendations?

Ostrava (catch the train Pendolino, when in Ostrava go to Stodolni street, after hit desperado´s bar, don´t stay in the first room continue walking to the inside room. In a thursday it will be empty other days full. I don´t know if it´s university holidays now.) Plz give some feedback when you return. I will probably go there with some friends in the 15th of February week, but we are flying to Krakow).

Prague is excellent, but unfortunately hordes of beer-swilling Germans, Brits and Italians discovered that not long after the Iron Curtain came down. Czech girls are pretty, though not the nicest in Eastern Europe, and are very liberal, but good like trying to actually find one there! The sheer number of tourists in Prague is so vast that compared to other cities in the region it's very difficult to find local girls. Most times I saw a stunning girl in Prague, I'd get nearer and hear her speaking French or German or English.

Prague is also a major sex tourist destination. I'm sure you don't need me to fill you in on how many seemingly ordinary bars are full of pros.

When I was there, I only went to big nightclubs full of foreigners recommended by Lonely Planet. Since then, I've read that to get the "authentic" Prague nightlife experience you need to venture a bit further afield and talk to the locals about where to go.

I'd be happy to go back to the Czech Republic, but I'd give Prague a miss this time if I was after nightlife and local girls. Like Marco says, Ostrava is meant to be good, and I've also heard good things about Brno.

I completely agree with everything Alchemist wrote. Right on point.

I've never been to Ostrava, but with everything Pepni's been telling us about it, I would say definitely go there instead of Prague

The first time I went to Czech Republic I didn´t even passed by Prague. Landed in Brno and went directly to Ostrava. I´ve been to Brno after to bang a girl I met in Ostrava and continue to Bratislava. It seemed not as infested than Prague but already with some brits ruining it.

About Ostrava make no mistake, go there for the girls and nightlife. There are no monuments to visit (I mean there are some walking around w/ high heels). In Stodolni street you will have around 60 clubs w/ any type of music. I don´t know much about others clubs, besides desperado´s, but I heard for clubbin Fabric was good.

To be honest the percentage of hotties in the baltics is bigger, but I don´t know why I have this thing about Czech girls.if it wasn´t for the cold...

Eventually I was unable to spend the weekend in Czech, the cold (-20 to -10) was harsh and it seems not that easy to handle a travel to another city especially in that cold.
During the midweek though I went to a couple of strip clubs, one of them called Darling, it was not busy there but there were few nice girls which one of them accepted to meet me after the place closed so no need to pay for... She came to my hotel at 5:00 AM and we had good time together, she was blond, thin and eager to satisfy, had to pay her a small fee in the end (Approx. 50$) but it was nothing compared to the quality and good time.

I'm posting from my hotel room in Ostrava, wich is directly on Stodolní. It seems the talk about it was true, its booming thus I will try to have the first live SNL on rooshv.

Prague sounds worse than Rio/Medellin/Buenos Aires.

Prague is actually a beautiful city and very inexpensive. Just stay out of the touristy areas and you will be fine.

1 day late

Some rv members told me Czech girls are pretty liberal. That girl left at 7am with a light kiss like it was the most natural thing for her, pretty impressive.

But Ostrava is a ghost town on weekends. Everyone go to the mountains. I'm leaving tomorrow for Brno.
