West Coast,

I had the same problem as you when I was younger. I wanted to dress better but I looked like a kid. People just don't take it as serious. To them, all they see is a 21 year old kid wearing his uncles best suit. It just doesn't work sometimes.

You can't wear manly clothes when you look like a boy. It just doesn't have the same effect.

My advice is to dress up but be more hip and youthful about it. Don't dress the same way a 35 or 40 year old man would dress.
Dress like a younger version of a G. Dress more youthful. Wear the stuff that older guys can't get away with.

When you're young you can take more chances and get away with more a more daring type of look.

Maybe something like this..



Notice the watch, bracelet, chain, and sneakers.



I think this is youthful but still sharp. This says, I am in my early 20's but I am still stylish.



This is different.



I think stuff like this is a better match for your look and age. Let the older guys wear the "older-looking" stuff.

I wasn't ready to start dressing "older" until I was 35. That is when my face finally matched that style

Yeah I agree. I like all the looks you posted! I should clarify a bit, looking for ways to basically mess with my age. I want to get promoted as fast as I can and part of that comes with looks.

I gave up on the suit look and went back to what you alrdy know I wear (v necks, form fitting blazers, bright clothing, aviator shades, and more). Anyway I may be fucked oh well,back trolling college aged girls it is... Can't fight reality!

WestCoast- I ditched the tie and started wearing more lively colored shirts with the two top buttons undone. It helped a lot with the perception that I was some youngster sneaking around in dad's suit.

Ha yeah dude to avoid thread jacking maybe someone can just PM me, my wardrobe is redone, I dress like the pictures above.

My issue again is the following: any way to make myself look older? The older I look the more money i'll make as I'll be trusted to go to more important meetings. That's the issue

Threw away the suit for game purposes.

I did it in my late 20s. The key is congruence, wearing a custom suit might get you noticed, better reception from the females, however you will still need to back that up. For me, custom suits were part of a larger transformation:

- I was never fat, but I started working out. Developed some great abs. Still hot the gym 2-3 times a week.
- Started hustling at work, switched jobs to make more money. Started to do side projects/investing.
- Went to lounges, wine bars, and other classic joints. Don't get me wrong, I still get play at the local dive bar, but my female preferences have changed.

Most importantly, I had sh*t going on other than swooping broads. Always trying to get something done, the women noticed the ambition, so when I stepped up, they knew it was the real deal.

If you get the chance, read G's site. I am not a fanboy, just sincerely appreciate his razor sharp insights. You notice that the G talks about a certain lifestyle, these custom suits were my gateway drug.

This right here sums it up for me. You can rock the nice suits, but when you have something to step it up with like ambition you'll get noticed and women will actually listen. Once you get them to listen, they're yours for the taking.

Had been off the grid for a while, just logged in and see this thread still going strong.

I'm still on it. However, like all things you have to keep evolving. In Boston, I am seeing more suits, but they are usually off the rack and ill fitting. Combined that with the fact that American guys are bigger/fatter than the Euros, you have cats rollin out in those Brooks Brothers sack suits (garbage bags) looking like accountants or insurance salesmen. No hate, just reality.

Besides staying custom suited down, I have been doing the following:

- Bolder patterns. Actually went down to NYC and dropped the dinero for a Duncan Quinn. you profiled him already: http://www.thegmanifesto.com/2012/03/dun...suits.html

- I have been steadily increasing the arsenal. Selecting my own fabrics. Been looking out for inspiration. http://www.suitsupply.com/suits/Suits,en_US,sc.html

- Pocketsquares: Posting up with a custom suit is not enough. You have to come through with the right pocket square. Go for flash on conservative patterns, low key on the bolder ones.

I have been on the next level deal -- meeting women with beauty and connects. We're talking about swooping and cutting business deals. I'm getting some serious respect in business circles. A spiral upwards, if you will. Although I am still nowhere near your level, I am identifying with what you have written about in the past.

Sure, I have gotten some hate. Usually from these weesh guys who have said "I'm trying too hard" or "I'm gay" for dressing too well. But that again, these t-shirt and jeans wearing, cubicle monkeys with progressively fattening girlfriends have bigger issues to deal with than my wardrobe.

That is strong.

I like to see you are making the necessary steps up the ladder.

The funny thing as I have mentioned before on here is that the guys that hate on suits dress like homosexuals from the 90's ie tight t-shirts, designer jeans etc.

Flashier suit, not your run of the mill navy pattern.

If suit is flashy the undershirt is kind of low key neutral color that compliments the suit, some color wheel ninja shit. If suit is more neutral I ramp up the undershirt.

Undershirt top two buttons are always undone.

Same theory on flashiness with the pocket square.

Pair of aviators.

Flask.

Couple of biz cards.

A set of balls. Direct game seems to work the best.



I think the key is to wear looks designed for going out at night, flashier colors and a relaxed vibe, without looking like a clown. For biz meetings a tie will come out.

25 and I look like I am 21, never had anyone confuse me for wearing some family hand me downs. I'm still wet behind the ears, but damn the future looks bright.

This is a great example of "big", I have nothing to say except that's pretty much as big as u should get. What I would add is be the build of the girls you want to pick up... I hate "thick" girls with a passion so I would never err on the bigger side.
