I actually enjoy this song. It's one of them songs that conjures up vivid memories of a time and place. This song played constantly on the oldies XM radio station where I was working in Chile when I first heard it. I hear it now, it brings me back.

There's a difference between romantic songs and beta songs. Some songs sound "beta" but women get weak in the knees over them. Pretty much the whole Adult Contemporary genre falls in that category (think Bryan Adams Have You Ever Loved a Woman.)

Truly beta songs are guys who come across as sad-sacks who beg and plead and allow themselves to be used as doormats.

Here's one that is so cringey I have a hard time thinking it's not a comedy track.
