Does someone with a healthy diet under 30 need extra zinc? I read somewhere that taking upwards of 300mg a day decreases white blood cells and impairs immune function. Short term, probably not a huge deal but one 30mg capsule is supposedly the high limit recommended as a long term supplement.

can't you just eat high zinc foods? oysters have an insane amount of zinc in them, you can also eat veal and a bunch of other foods.

Midnight, is there a danger in overdosing on Zinc? Which brand are you using?
Please be specific, I am interested.
I went to a naturopath some years ago and they said my zinc levels were low.
Kosko, your garlic experimentation intrigues me. Now that I am in the dirty South, I can buy fresh garlic which is a lot more potent by the time it gets up North.

Zinc gets into overdose zone past 3 GRAMS and you will be dead at 10 GRAMS. You generally need potent high doses way over the DV% to achieve results with supplements. Most ZMA formulas start at 300% DV% so a few hundred MGS will not hurt you.

A high WBC count is not necessarily a good thing. A high WBC count is a marker of inflammation, which for me at least, is a source of a lot of health problems. If the count is reduced because of reduced inflammation, that can be good. It really depends on the details.

That's a legit product, and website, but you can probably find it in a health store, although it may be of lesser quality since they only sell "clinical-grade" supplements.

I bought that exact product from there and I feel like it has increased my test. levels, and most importantly, for me, I don't get muscle spasms after I workout now, properly hydrated or not.

I was obviously deficient in zinc as are most the population but interested to see if anyone else had good results with zinc supplementation. I don't plan on doing this mega dose for more than four weeks. I am going to get my levels checked with a blood test and after the four weeks are done go back to about 50mg a day.

Hm I currently take Maca, Horny Goat Weed, Multivitamin and Fish Oil. I've read/heard about zinc before and am still interested in maybe taking some. I don't think the Maca and the HGW are doing it for me... my buddy is taking them as well and he feels like an absolute animal (and he definitely changed).

I love women and I love talking with sexy ones, but my libido is definitely not as high as I want it to be and I know it. I don't want sex as much as my friends too for some reason, but when I see a cutie I get all happy lol. Maybe I need more zinc.

Interesting fact, some of the most sexually active countries consume lots of food containing zinc (lamb/pork/oysters/etc). Maybe it has something to do with it?

Also OP, the point about you getting more attention from girls is interesting because I go through phases where I feel as though women everywhere love me, but then I go through phases where I get no attention. I've always wondered if it was something I'm eating or something I'm doing. Could never get a finger on it sadly!

I just bought zinc pills yesterday. They say to take 1 pill (50mg) daily. So, you are taking 3-4x the prescribed amount? No side effects?

spread out through the day...usually every four hours...down to 50 mg before bed now....still going strong...just started flax seed oil two days ago as well...2-4 tablespoons a day....feel real good from it. Don't think fish oil was doing the job.

No side effects. I toned it down now though to 50 mg a day. I may do 100 mg a day if I have a lot of sex.

Yeah, I have used maca and like it. Now I take an overall mens capsule that has it in it. And I switched from fish oil to organic flax seed oil and notice a big difference in over well being and erection quality.



Also selenium is big for us men. 3-4 brazil nuts twice a day do the trick. But it does depend where the brazil nuts were grown. Some soil has ALOT of selenium in it...others not as much...and there can be as much as 300% the daily value of selenium in just 1 oz of brazil nuts...so don't od on them.

In my supplement book it says no more than 100mg a day long term. So I did not plan on doing the 200-250mg for longer than two weeks. And I spread it out through the day.

You can get selenium easily from eggs I believe 2 or 3 will give you your daily requirements. Sardines have a lot of Selenium also.

For Zinc I crushed back 600mg yesterday and I am still alive.....

Fats has helped the stomach issues and now I am back to taking it with food. I take my Zinc half way through my meals with my fish oil caplets and at times just with the Fish oil caplets with no food to compare.... no stomach issues.
