Next Summer or the Summer afterwards, I plan on traveling around Central and Eastern Europe in search of a city or two I plan on settling in for a couple of months at a time. I will try to spend a week or two in each city at first for one or two months.

I know some cities change with the seasons, but I will most likely be settling while universities are in session.

What are things that you look for when choosing a city to settle down in?

I like places with....

• not too much of a big-city vibe, which to me is a sign of crime and general impoliteness
• decent infrastructure, e.g. buses, internet cafes, ATMs etc
• a good district to go out at night with cute girls, relaxed vibe, decent drink prices
• a language I can either already speak or learn readily
• little or no distaste among locals for Americans
