Did anybody else notice that NN's book is now available on amazon.com in paperback form for $999.99? Yes, just a shade under $1,000. A simple search on amazon shows it.

Am I in the twighlight zone or does it show up for that amount for anybody else as well?

Glad I'm not crazy. BTW, it's the real listing, it has the 7 reviews that the kindle version also has. I have no idea what to make of it, especially considering that I'm ready to buy now but I'm not sure its worth a cool G.

This is a pretty common tactic on Amazon I think. I saw it a lot with used text books when I was in college. Guess it's to catch someone slippin and they buy it without realizing the price. It's not NN doing it, it's third party sellers. Shady shit, IMO.

To be honest I was about to buy it before reading the the reviews. It looks like all but 1 are fake. I don't know if that's true, but for the sake of your book I'd look into it. I respect you a lot for what you've done and I'd hate to see something like that deterring readers. But I'll probably end up still buying it thanks to the legit reviews from this thread.

Finished the book over the weekend, I have ADHD and can't focus for more then 30 -40 min and want to do other stuff, but this book held me captive till the end and then I want some more of the Pirate Stuff. to be contd ....Great NN, Leave em wanting more.... Sign of a great storyteller.

NN I can see you have lust for dangerous situations and sightseeing natural wonders in remote places, you put yourself in danger many a times.

I am sitting at work today thinking about how to ditch my job and be in Phillipines and all over the world, Hate all you Mofos travelling all around the world .....

I just finished the book today. I read it over about 3 days.

It was an exciting book, and an easy read. As with Neil, most important thing is that the author has to have the guts to step up and do things that are worthy to write about. NN delivers on that.

My favorite funny moments in the book were NN getting the runs on a grossly overcrowded train in the Sudanese desert, and his psycho girlfriend in Cambodia.

The sex details are pretty explicit, but I would not say too much so for my tastes. Still probably way too much for most girls or people over 50.

As I did with "Around the World in 80 Days", I will list my positives and negatives briefly below:

Positives:
1) I like the little "jokes" that NN drops in the middle of stories.

For example p145 when he talking about trying to hook up with a 16 year old, NN says: " 'You should come with me', I said, knowing full well that children love sweets."

These things made me laugh.

2) The small maps were great, showing the routes that NN took on different journeys (although the country names should have been in there, in my opinion)

3) NN doesn't give a shit about being politically correct, which is so refreshing these days when most men from "the west" won't even dare step out of their pathetic, little defined zone of acceptable behavior (as dictated by others, of course).

NN isn't scared to entertain some politically incorrect ideas, and he put them in writing, so respect for having the guts for that.


Negatives/Room for improvement:

1) Again, the typos were bothersome, considering its a published book. I didn't make a note of them as I went through, but I believe there are even more than what wOOt mentioned above.

However, typos were not to the point of driving to distraction, as with the earlier version of AW80G that I read.

I will mark them as I review the book later and then post them on this thread at a later date for NN to rectify, as he has expressed earlier in the thread that he would take action on errors brought to his attention.

2) I would have liked to read a bit more NN's life outside of traveling to see what kind of guy he is and how he funds his travel. Maybe 2-5 more pages on that.

I think most guys read this and immediately picture themselves in the author's shoes. Then they think: "I would love to do this, but well how do I afford this and fit it into my lifestyle?" This is where NN's personal explanation would fit in, showing how one person does it, and thus make the reader connect more, in my opinion.

Conclusion:

Overall, positive definitely outweighs negative. I will suggest the book to a few friends, especially a few who I believe are "living in the matrix" and can benefit from reading about a real-life person who is living his passion.

I will try to use the book as a Matrix-breaker, so to speak.

Pro's:

- Amazing adventures + great storytelling (the Irish blood really comes thru there)
- Enough reflection, upbeatness and compassion in there to make it more human than just a narcisstic sex romp
-Inspirational, makes me want to goto africa, camobdia, indonesia... really fired up my adventure neurons


Cons:

He seems to keep his cards close to his chest on the details, how he finances it all, etc. I believe he's legit, and he might present himself this way to deliberately be mysterious which is probably great branding, but he sacrifices conveying some realness and groundedness there I think. May or may not prove detrimental, I dunno.

I really enjoyed this book! Very articulate and awesome adventure writing style. I related with a lot of his stories. Like the one chic who had the roaches on her wall. Been there before! I can't believe this guy had the balls to go to the blood diamond section of Africa as a gringo. But it seems he has the personality and charisma to work around common obstacles that would deter most folks. If you're ever in NY naughty nomad hit me up. But I know what your thinking already western girls suck! And after reading your book I'm starting to realize why. Especially liked your crazy Thai girl who beat up the chic an dragged her outside. If anything I want to see pics of these chics to put a name to a face but I have my own mental pictures drawn in my head! Thanks for the good read.

P.s. I think I finally found a Player that smokes more weed than I do.

To give you guys a background: During my college years, I was DJ, tended bar, and ran my own graphic/web design company. I just figured nobody would be interested in that aspect of my life. I wanted all-killer no-filler content. I never considered it might disconnect me with the reader. I'll know for next time.

Now I'm a professorial singer/musician. I also have a few side projects. If any of you guys are in Dublin for the weekend, PM me and you can check out one of my gigs!

I like reading about other people's travel experiences because it gives you more insights into places you might visit than you would otherwise from the perspective of a "PUA". That's the main purpose of this site and the datasheets I guess. After reading this I kind of felt like doing some traveling and capturing some flags. Can't believe how many times he nearly got caught with the weed but got out of it!

I was the front man of a full band until September. But now I'm doing a two-piece with the drummer. It's not quite as fun but the money is really great and it's easier. We have a the best agent in the country and get loads of gigs, I love what I do, and it's great for picking up chicas, too. We play a lot of reggae/rock/pop/latin songs. Bob Marley is my forte.

Still, I'm always working on other projects. I'm not going to perform forever, I'm an entrepreneur at heart.

I'm really enjoying your book and finished two more sections....only one more to go. I find your experiences, quite believable, because I experienced similar things when in these places. How many days did the journey from Cairo to Cape Town take? The Ricky and the "mermaid" story was very funny! How many days did the journey from Moscow to Manila take? Where did Danny get his epic sunburn that you showed in the picture? I must have missed where you told. Great book and can't wait to read Naughty Nomad 2.
