Title: Naughty Nomad: Not Your Typical Backpacker Story by Mark Zolo

Firstly, I want to thank Mark for all the datasheets he's posted on his website over the past few years. Great insights and always a treasure to read. I bought his book because I wanted to thank him and support his travel endeavors and future datasheets.

I thought it was hilarious that he put his last name as Zolo and in the book he introduces himself as Marco. Marco Zolo. Hahaha.

217 pages. I smashed it in an evening. It was that good.

It starts off by talking about his epic journey to Antartica and how it came about. Incredible. He also tells his story of the 'Pancake Trail' Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Some hillarious stories.

Then to my horror, the investigator held up the case and said, “You play now.”
I quickly changed the subject, saying, “Look at my passport.”
“Osama bin Laden!” exclaimed the lead officer, causing everyone to laugh again.
It worked—the investigator put the case away and continued with his search. Eventually, they let us go on our way. Somehow I had gotten away with it—but only by the hair of my chinny chin chin.

Beautiful.

His 'Cairo to Capetown' adventures intrigued me. I've visited Botswana and Zimbabwe so I kind of knew where he was coming from. Yet he still managed to pull some truly amazing stories out of the hat.

'Moscow to Manilla' and 'The Butterfly Circuit' also held some real treasures and gave me a few new locations to put on my list. Also, the note passing trick with girls was a real gem that I'll be sure to put into my arsenal.

Would recommend anyone give this book a read.

Only letdown was that he held back on the sex details. Way too many fade to blacks. Come on dude!!

Great book, very entertaining.
However a lot of mistakes in there, less than in Neils book but still. This seems to be a trend for blogs turned to books.

NN you said you hired a professional editor i would bitchslap the guy. No spelling mistakes but a whole bunch of wrong words.
Some straight up hilarious shit too like "i let her play with HER dick" (somewhere in the indonesia section).

Im kind of anal about this so other ppl propably wont mind as much. To me it kinda sucks if i pay for a book and then fall over a whole bunch of mistakes.

Anyway apart from that a great read and i only paid 4 bucks because i paid on the first day so alls good. I guess theres another book on the horizon?

I bought it on Amazon actually the day before it came out and have read the first section so far. I like it a lot. The first section on Southeast Asia is funny and comes accross as very real, base on my experiences there. His travel partner Paddy is very funny and their experiences in Cambodia very wild. I only spent a few days in Cambodia, but it was the only place I've ever been where a guy showed me a pistol he had tucked in his pants. He pulled back his jacket to let me know I should leave that girl alone and keep moving!

I can't wait to finish reading it. Just got to finish Neil's and a couple of Roosh ones too, then I'll give a ful review! I'm sure it is all very colorful! Good job!

Only one minor misplaced letter has been pointed out to me by over 200 readers. I use the same editor Roosh does.

Just finished the book up yesterday and thought it was awesome. I did notice some formatting errors (like random phrases being highlighted and crossed out) as well as some grammar and spelling mistakes. None of these were that detrimental to the story or book itself, but I can see some really anal dudes knocking off Amazon stars over it.

Really though, those are just nit picks. Overall the book was awesome, especially the Cairo to Cape Town segment.

Ok guys i have to apologize i went back and the sentence is correct.
It says actually "and even let her stroke with her FIRST penis" (its at 87% in the indonesia section.). So it makes sense.
Thats embarrassing next time ill double check before i run my mouth.

HOWEVER in an effort to redeem myself i took a cpl of minutes to skim the book and heres what i can come up with.

88% (bali indonesia): "I quickly fell in love the island". The word with is missing.
52% (stairway to hades): "A relativity tame affair..." i think it should be relatively.
57% (tallinn, estonia): "Where's the hell is Paddy". Should be "where the hell".
57% (Tallinn, Estonia): "...centimetre by centimetre forced my dick down her throat, all the way the base". shouldnt it be "to the base"?
57% (Tallinn, Estonia): "I don't why, I just did it". I think it should be "I don't know why".
59% (Off the rails): "My dad found me reading Lonely Planet's Tran-Siberian Railway travel guide...". It should be TranS-Siberian Railway.

So i stand by what i said, the editor should be bitchslapped.

@fretdancer sure as soon as ppl start dropping money for my posts i will.

I got to back up w00t here. I haven't had a chance to read NN's book yet ( look forward to doing so )so I'm saying this in general terms and not saying this about him in particular,but if I'm spending my hard earned cash on a book I expect the author to take the time to read his own material and eliminate errors. Sloppy grammar is amateurish in a published book and screams to me that it's been rushed out before it's ready.

If you believe in your product,slow down,read it,read it again,get a friend to read it and eliminate all errors and then release it to the market. The buyers are not going anywhere,they will still buy it and enjoy it much more without the errors and that way buy more of your products in future.

I just finished reading it.

I have to admit, the first few pages didn't hook me much, except for the fact that it was Antartica. But as I kept reading I started liking the book alot. I enjoyed it alot, the sensation you get when you finish a good book, and you want to experience what you just read, you guys know what I mean.

I wish I could have a few beers with NN for a couple of hours, wouldn't that be awesome.

Regarding typos, there are quite a few, mostly at the start of the book if I'm not mistaken. A very common one is a word used with 's' instead of 'z'. Still it does not take away the great reading experience.

I have read A Dead Bat In Paraguay and NN's book all in a row, now its time for Neil's book!

Looking forward for your next book Mark. 5 starts.

They are not actually typos. I use standard English, not American English. We don't use z as much. For example we say realised not realized. We also have weird things like colour instead of color.

I suck at english apparently.

I didn't notice the many spelling errors in the story. and I got the ebook version.
I finished the book a couple days ago..I loved it.
I can see how some readers would think the sex stories were one too many. But to me..it reminded me of my trips.
Drunken hooliganism and weed smoking with friends who occasionally simple fuck up.
banging what we could find.

In a way the book was a little more interesting than some travel books, for the fact that you traveled with friends.
Im all for solo rollin, but sometimes the best shit comes out of having someone behind you to back you up.

I see, my bad. I did knew about 'color' and 'colour', but didn't know it was also with 's' and 'z'.

By the way, are you planning on including solo trips for your next one? Travelling with buddies is awesome, and I haven't travelled solo yet, so it would be nice to read some experiences regarding that.

All in all, I was very impressed with this book. I found myself wanting to keep reading it, and torn by the desire to drop my shit and go travel. It's a very inspirational book, very entertaining, and mildly educational, serving the purpose it sets out to perfectly. I found it hard to fault this book, other than a few spelling mistakes spread across the book. I'm eagerly awaiting the next edition.

Overall, I give it a 8.5/10.
