Can we have the option to add PUA to our screenname once a certain elite level of game/posts/rep is reached?

For example: RedPillPUA samsamsamPUA, SuitsPUA, Roosh_mPUA

Bumping this idea a bit late cause I think its a big one and I've just seen it. As of this moment the travel forum has:

User(s) browsing this forum: Fury, goonies, superschalk, zatara, 104 Guest(s)

If thats an average readership ratio thats roughly 97% "guest" people browsing and not contributing. I'd say the Travel forum drives a lot of traffic to the forums, so maybe not entirely private - the general discussion threads could be left in a public forum. But a private sub-forum for members with over X amount of posts/rep points for datasheets would probably help motivate a lot more people to post them without fear of ruining their local cities hidden spots.

PUA (both acronym and full form) makes me shudder.

Horrible suggestion.

So you don't want to be CrashBangWallop_mPUA!?

I thought people would get that was a joke, and I also thought people would find it funny. Damn. It was hilarious to me when I was drunk and came up with it last night.

Also reminds me of how Polish guys say PUA. They don't say P.U.A.

They say poo-ah.

I think it would be great if we could get notifications for those that reply to posts. Depending on how busy ones lifestyle is, someone may quote a post, and by the time you return, said post has disappeared into the abyss.

I would encourage more users to post images. Also, I would appreciate a place where users can write a short bio, so it can be easier for other users to understand there they are coming from in terms of politics, ideologies and opinions.

I think a good next step would be a podcast every week regarding ROK news.

Thaivisa.com is the biggest English Thai forum in Thailand and they started a weekly podcast 6 months ago and now have 1500 subscribers.

People these days prefer to watch video compare to read!

I think one of the major selling points of this forum is that we are all excellent readers.

Might have mentioned on of these already, my bad if it's a repost:

1. A chatbox for members to chat live with each other.

2. Personal blogs

A newbie section under the travel forum.

It could be a place where all the "where should I go" questions can be housed, kinda like how Game has a newbie section.

The regular travel forum could also then be restricted to members who have a certain number of posts and reps, kinda like Politics.

It would be nice if there was a ... Private Lounge ...

I have seen this sentiment echoed across the forum and share similar thinking. In recognizing the need to balance many members' need for privacy with the importance of maintaining site traffic, I offer the following suggestions for the implementation of this private section.

Rationale:

Provide an avenue for the trusted members to share more personal, detailed, instructive, and location-specific information to a more private and trustworthy audience.

Context:

The private lounge would offer no guarantee of safety from hysterical SJWs, hackers, or employers -- and as such the core privacy protocols should remain in place (e.g., use a burner email, never use a real name, don't post pics of conquests etc).

However, by cutting off full unvetted access for anonymous lurkers thoroughly trawling the site and for Google bots in leading random people here via key word searches, it not only enhances security but also raises the sense of earned camaraderie.

Without this, many members either do not post or significantly limit their provision of detail due to largely reasonable concerns over privacy, selectivity, over-fishing and so on. In addition to the recent problems with over-zealous SJWs, moral-deficient journalists and pseudo-ethical hackers, ongoing concerns have been raised regarding the over-saturation of key location-specific markets due to probable lurker infiltration (using the RVF member-to-public viewer ratio as a guide) as well as a reluctance to share valuable personally-developed information to an audience of lurkers who provide the RVF membership with no reciprocal value.

The main focus of the forum could still be activity on the main site and wider social change.

Goals:

The primary goal is to establish trust, credibility, and a sense of brotherhood among members, thus encouraging a greater sharing of personally-meaningful experiences and more nuanced perspectives on game that could take the core level of RVF knowledge to another level.

Although it may reduce the number of views/replies to some solid threads in comparison to the views/replies that would be achieved if posted in public, having a tight yet active group of trustworthy and skilled gentlemen is likely to encourage some members to post more often and with more detail.

Note - as trust is the overriding principle, a rookie could be admitted if he demonstrates clear respect of the need for privacy, value-provision and elder deference.

Two general methods of entry:

(1) Become an established/trusted member of the RVF forum
(2) Meet an established/trusted member

Specific methods to achieve entry:

(1) Via contribution

On RVF
a. Make x number of posts, say 500 (quantitative measure), and/or
b. Gain x number of reps, say 50 (combined qualitative and quantitative measure), and/or
c. Make a meaningful, credible effort (based on Admin or Elite Member discretion; mainly qualitative measure), and/or

Elsewhere
d. Demonstrate support of the neomasculine movement through significant contributions to an external site, such as a personal blog, PUA lair postings, etc (based on Admin or Elite Member discretion; mainly qualitative measure).

~OR~

(2) Via face-to-face verification

a. Meet a forum Admin
- this could lead to direct admission

b. Meet an established Members, who would then
- write a short 'reference post' in a sub-forum entitled 'Member References' or
- contribute a 'reference point' which would be separate to the 'rep point' in that, moving forward, 'rep points' could refer to forum contributions whereas 'reference points' could refer to in-person verification.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
P.S. Regarding trolls
One suggestion to help weed out or at least improve the chance of identifying trolls:
Make it a requirement that every new member must post an introduction within the first week of gaining membership based on set questions, such as the following --
*Age by decade
*Country of origin
*Current location
*Time in current location
- History in game/relationships
- Involvement in Manosphere
- Reason for joining
- Goals
- Strengths
- Areas to improve
- Other interests
- RVF or other Wings/Referees
*indicate preferred but not mandatory for privacy reasons
Feedback is welcome as always, cheers.
RE: What is one idea or suggestion that would take this forum to the next level?
OK I have a serious suggestion this time.
Can have subforums on the travel forum for different areas of the world? There are multiple threads on the same places and it would be a lot easier to navigate this way and you could see threads/datasheets on other parts of the world you might not have considered.
For example:
USA and Canada, Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa, Oceania and Rest of World.
Great idea. It would be a lot more organized if we could break down the Travel forum to be more region specific.
Another idea I just came up with, how about adding a link to the new Kings Wiki as a permanent part of the forum header, alongside the Roosh blog?
RE: What is one idea or suggestion that would take this forum to the next level?
An option where we can see and sort threads by how many subscribers to the thread there are, just like how we can already with Posts and Views. When I first started lurking here I had never been on a forum before and didn't know how to dive in. I just sorted everything by most views or most replies and just read and read. It's easy to miss good stuff that way though because a lot of the threads with most replies/views are things like Would you hit it? Thread or the 10 and Black Hotness threads, entertaining no doubt but not a lot to learn from.The search function is great but there's so much great knowledge dropped on things I had never even heard of before that I would never have searched for but noticed just from regularly frequenting the forum. If we could see how many Subs there are it would show what topics RVFers consider most important to them. It would make finding the gold within this enormous forum easier to find for the lurkers and newbs who aren't sure what this place is yet as well
I suggest an eskimos bros database that rooshers can share among each other. Can be anonymous and serve as a red flag for crazies. Im sure this would take off in the travel Philippines thread
Please don't allow newbies to post into the politics forum until they're at 100 posts and have shown some common sense.
They also shouldn't be able to make political threads. Pharao, anyone?
This forum has branched out a lot and I really enjoy the lifestyle and political discussions, but I'm constantly seeing new guys crop up who have nothing to say about game and everything to say about how awful Arabs and Muslims are. They always get banned and it is sorta silly that we even allow them to participate in these discussions before they learn about forum etiquette.
I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.
Discourse.org. It's an opensource forum system with cool layout and notification system [which I think it's great feature for a forum]
I was just thinking this the other day.
Advantages:
- Doesn't have this outdated thread pages system - relies entirely on lazy loading
- See avatars of who has posted in a thread in the thread box
- "Hall of Fame"-like alternative - see which threads are " Hot " in terms of views, replies etc
- Automatic summaries of threads which highlight the most liked posts, links clicked on, etc
- Filter to see only one user's posts within a thread
- Nested comments
- Live reply loading (like Disqus)
- Ability to mention other users (like Slack) + notifications for mentions and replies
- Links automatically expand (for thumbnail, context etc)
- Interlink threads like GitHub - "Reply as linked topic" to start a related conversation – and both topics will be visibly connected together.
- Saves your last read spot on a thread so you don't have to click "Last Post" and try to scroll back (this in itself would save a big headache)
- And more
Here's a list of live Discourse forums to check out.
The post count is meaningless. Some people provide an insightful, useful one=paragraph post. Others regularly contribute nothing other than a one or two word response and that raises their post count.
Opensource has been targeted for subversion and largely-pozzed by SJW's over the last year. If you read Discourse's Terms and Conditions and About Us pages and what they think makes for acceptable conversation - illustrated with no less than a picture of Wil Wheaton - you can see they aren't to be remotely-trusted.
